Bingo! And any fictional reasons can be made up as they go along. I guess we'll have to keep watching TCW to find out! And yes, there already is a thread about this. So, could a mod please merge these topics?

Funny, I just got my second one too. Somehow one just isn't enough. I got mine because I wanted to get my total purchase up to $75 so that I could get the golden minifig keychain. Put a pearl gold helmet on this bad boy and voila - another classic space tribute!

No, I was talking about the one busting into Palpatine's office near the end of Hostage Crisis and "securing the senator". I thought that was Fox, but Wookieepedia doesn't list him among the characters of that episode.

Well, since I still live purely on the allowance that I get from my parents, I have a rather hard time affording all the sets that I want, so I just set my priorities. I buy the sets that I want most first and then slowly work my way down the list of sets I want, with the set(s) that are least important to me being at the end of the list. Usually I don't get to the end of the list before the sets are discontinued, and then I don't bother getting them for inflated prices. Sometimes I have to prioritize sets from the bottom of my list when they go on sale, which leaves me less money to buy the sets that I would have rather had. It's not great, but usually I manage to get about half the sets I want, which is satisfying enough.

This is one of the sets that I most regret not ever getting. It has loads of great figs and pieces in rare colors and was actually quite affordable. However, $20 seemed a bit much for this set at the time, so I waited for the price to go down, but it never did, and suddenly the set disappeared from the market. You are lucky to have it and did a great job on the review.

This is rather nifty, and it seems to work quite effectively. When I get my Republic Attack Shuttle, I might modd it to have this rapid fire feature. Thanks for sharing!

I'm guessing this upcoming event is Comic Con?

If it's true that one of the 2010 BPs has Snow Troopers, it will be very helpful for your project!

I'm glad to see that more people agree with me now. Special thanks to Tinn-Man for giving a detailed list of proofs for the fact that the RBR is minifig scale. Hm... You're probably right about that. But I'm pretty sure that is a coincidence. The whole point of the Midi-scale series is swooshability, and the RBR doesn't seem incredibly swooshable. You could be right, but seeing as the the last minifig-scale MF could fit two figs in the cockpit (which was half the size of that of the RBR), I'm sure that you could at least mod it to fit 4 figs. Yeah, that makes sense, I guess. Just like the clone gunner in the clone BP is fighting as infantry instead of driving the walker as he should. Btw, they did correct that mistake with the pilot in the RAS on the final box art. Because they are Battle Packs! The point of them is to build armies. It is kinda hard to amass armies with a $25 set that only includes 5 figs, one of which is a main character. Fox was in the CW movie AND the Season 1 finale. As much as I would love Cold Assault troopers too, I'm pretty damn sure these BPs are OT. As other have said, it only makes sense. The more I look at the RBR, the more I like it - and I already liked it to begin with. If I can get it for under $100 at some point and if it has good figs, I might get it. Mark my words, people! The RBR is minifig scale and has figs! You'll see!

For me, the best movie car ever is and always will be the DeLorean from BTTF! Bumble Bee from the Transformers movies is of course pretty nice as well. And I just the new Ford Mustang, so any TV/movie car that is a Mustang is automatically one of my favorites too, like the new KIT (from Knight Rider), Frankenstein's car in Death Race, and the Mustang that Will Smith drives at the beginning of I am Legend!
-
Actually, I'd love a new-style R2, Threepio, Leia, and Vader. I don't have any, and the DS is WAY out of my price league and always will be, so I would very much welcome a way to get these for under $200. Wampa BPs? Gunray BPs?? I can asure you, these will never happen. Something to think about: If the orange blob on the left BP is a Rebel Pilot, why is he fighting on the battlefield and not piloting the blur which looks like a speeder?

Come on, people, be reasonable! It is not midi-scale! Nobody ever said it was, and it certainly doesn't look like it! I mean, it must be about three times the size of the Falcon! And it probably fits even more figs than the Republic Cruiser (2-4 in the cockpit, 2-3 on each side of the middle section, 1-2 in each escape pod, and who-knows-how-many in the back). And of course it will come with minifigs! What would be the point in making this minifig-scale and adding windows, hinged plates, etc. if it doesn't have any figs? That would be like selling hamburgers without beef! There are no minifigs in the pic because they are inside the ship. Duh! Just like in the Venator and ISD. So relax and wait for better pics. I absolutely agree! These pics don't do the set justice.

Just take my word for it: There are 11 engines on this thing and no stickers (at least none for the cockpit). I just know it.

The Skull Twins rule! :skull: Period. (Although, Kranxx comes in a close second. ) The SP3 outfits look pretty cool and are very reusable. I like them. Both vehicles from Hyperspeed Pursuit are pure awesome, which is why the set is such a win! Overall, I like this theme and hope for another wave or two. I especially love all the references to past Lego Space themes. However, sometimes I feel that the set design could have been better, like on Gold Heist, the two exclusives, and the awful Space Speeder (which should be included in the poll IMO, just for fairness ). Also, I'm still kinda bothered by the clash between the gritty/cool look of the SP3 and the cartoony-ness of the criminals. Therefore, I voted it could have been better.

It's because many people think that the RC wasn't very well designed at all and had a very bad interior. There is no doubt that this set will still be better than the RC, but people were getting their hopes up that this set would be something spectacular. No, we shouldn't. The estimated price for this set was 150-250 dollars, so it was to be expected that it was big and had a detailed interior. But I guess that price can't be quite right. And I agree that it's too early to moan about the interior, even though it probably wont be anything amazing at this scale. Why not? We all knew it from the start as the "Rebel Blockade Runner", and there is no way a PT ship could have been called that. However, there were speculations that it might include extra parts to transform it into the PT version, considering the high price. And I don't think that we can dismiss this possibility just yet. I highly doubt it'll be a sticker as this piece was always printed before.

We already know all this. I don't see how this is worth a new topic.

What's wrong with chrome red? Seriously though, I don't think it's anywhere near chrome. Just the usual shiny-ness of these curved parts. I think you should take a closer look. Due to the angle of the picture, the engines look small, but they aren't. They're about 4-6 studs wide each, which is pretty big for this scale considering there are eleven of them.
-
Liar! They are on the instructions of 10197, not 10196!
-
Interesting. Well, it doesn't look bad, but it does remind of the Republic Cruiser. And it certainly doesn't look worth $150+. I was hoping for something with nice interior, but I guess that was too much to ask for since the interior of this thing will probably wont be a lot better than that of the Cruiser. Oh well, I'll have to hold off on real judgement until I actually see the interior and the figs. Oh and btw: In your face, DarthSion! Do you believe that there is a RBR now? I don't see any minifigs on the bottom right corner, just the BP boxes. Like many here, you're seeing things.
-
Two meters isn't all that tall. It's just a little taller than me. Very nice creations, though, especially for that scale!
-
Uhm... No. Looks exactly the same to me. Could you please explain what's supposed to be different? @ Legopiotre: I think you should add the following pic to your post:
-
No, they are definitely BPs. In the video the pic is from, they were right next to all previous BPs on one shelf. Also, I don't see anybody with blue pants. Perhaps they are dark bley pants, and it's a Hoth Rebel you are seeing.
-
As Sir Dillon said, the emoticon was supposed to show that I was kidding. How about YOU think before you post? And was that really reason enough to dig up this old thread once more? Btw, I don't think that just because elves are sometimes associated with Santa's Workshop is the reason why TLC wont produce any sets with them either.
-
But then again, not many people liked TPM, whereas TESB is the favorite of many OT fans. I think you're seeing things, Jimbee. Those are the set number and info.

Thanks for the awesome close-up, Simon! I think your estimation is about right, especially about the imperials. Knowing this, I'm not sure if I'll buy Echo Base anymore. I mean, this way you can get 8 figs for $20 whereas you get 5 figs and a tauntaun for $25 with Echo Base! I would much rather have twice the amount of troops instead of a tauntaun and another Hoth Han. Can't wait for these BPs to come out!
