Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
Oky replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yeah, but they could all be main characters (more or less). We know that at least one of them is. -
Wow! The new trailer looks epic! Makes the game look much better than before! And I already thought it looked pretty good to begin with. Can't wait for this to come out (and drop in price)!

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
Oky replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Wow! This sure looks epic! The return to old PT planets and the inclusion of Mundi and more bounty hunters are great! It's also interesting that they decided to have in the series after all. But what I like most about the new season is the fact that they are going in a more serious/mature direction. Hopefully this will mean that we'll see a bit more of Anakin's angsty side, which is quite possible, seeing as he seems to be jealous at somebody Padme is hugging, and we all know what happened the last time he felt betrayed by her. Not so sure about Obi having a love interest. I'm not sure if I can stand Anakin teasing Obi for having a "girlfriend" for long. Oh well, we'll see. But, man, just imagine the sets and figs that can come from this! Yes please! I missed out on them during the Ep. II wave, so this would be a great chance to get them! Also, I'd like to see Cold Assault Troopers and mandalorians please! And Ki-Adi and Poggle figs, as strange as they may look in CW style. -
Why don't you just make something up? Remember, guys, like the SWCG, this game is based on players' posts, not one person's secret plot idea. So what if you mess up somebody's plans. We'll just take it from wherever your post leads us. So, please, don't be afraid to post. This is supposed to be fun.

It sure would! I would love a Cyborg fig! But Teen Titans is a dead show. I don't think kids even remember it anymore. So dream on. But wait - two CN licenses? What are you talking about?
-
I liked Invader Skoodge. Too bad the final season was never made, for if it did, Skoodge would have been assigned to help Zim on Earth. That could have been funny!
-
My point exactly! How are the TS figs any less "proper minifigs" than the Space Police or SpongeBob ones which no one seems to mind? I think people should really be a little more open to new ideas.
-
Yeah, if you look in the upper left corner of every box, you can see that they are simply folded-together plastic boxes. Besides, I actually like the hilts that way. That way, they have more variety, which is why I turn them around in my own displays sometimes. And if you look closely at Anakin's/Vader's hilt in the movies, it's very bottom heavy, so it actually works out that way.
-
May be, but Pixar always spends more time on their movies and they had all their movies up until Wall-E planned from the start, so Dreamworks had plenty of time to steal the ideas. Yes. And TS=Toy Story. As in Toy Story 3.
-
I agree, Dreamworks is the kiddie movie cash cow milker, not Pixar. I mean, come on, 4-5 Shrek movies? Pixar's films may have similar themes, but at least they make more mature films than Dreamworks. And even though they are owned by Disney, they wont abandon their morality of not making sequels if they don't have a good script that makes them worth making. Besides, TS and Cars are the only sequels among the many planned Pixar movies. I also agree that you can't compare Pixar with the whole Dreamworks studios. If you want to compare it with it, you'll have to include all other Disney movies, which would still be unfair because Disney has a different target audience as Dreamworks. Yup. Except Dreamworks also always tries to copy Pixar's ideas. Pixar makes A bug's life, they make Antz. Pixar makes Nemo, they make Shark Tale Pixar makes Ratatouille, they make Flushed Away.

Are you sure? The front part is rather hollow due to the interior whereas the back looks like a big, solid construction. It seems to me that it is somewhat back heavy. Besides, just look at the cannon! It doesn't touch the glass unlike the other piece.
-
It's OK, your forgiven. And I'm sorry I picked on you like that. A few people have been saying similarly silly things as you and I wanted to get things straight. Sorry. Carry on.

How the heck are these figs supposed to be <insert that tiresome argument>? They have movable (and removable) hands and body parts just like any other minifig! And I believe you can even remove their hats, so there's really not much of a difference here. slightly longer limbs and oddly shaped heads don't make them <insert that tiresome argument>! Why wouldn't they be removable? They are obviously completely normal figs standing on a new stand mold. Do you think they are glued?? Why the heck would they do that? Look at them closely, and you will see some of them coming off the base a little. Sorry if I'm sounding mean, but some of the reasons that some of you guys give for not liking these figs are completely unreasonable IMO. Btw, do you guys think the sign on the helmet of the Medic glows in the dark like in the movie? I really hope that Buzz' armor glows in the dark, but I doubt it.

Whats Your Favorite Agents Set?
Oky replied to Go Cubs Go!'s topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
We already have a similar thread to this, but I guess it has never been asked what set is our favorite, especially not since the release of the 2.0 line. Mine would have to be Robo Attack. It has both Inferno and Agent Trace in a medium sized set; an awesome retro mech with light brick, silver pieces, and everything; two Agents vehicles, and three great exclusive civilians to terrorize/save! What's not to love about that? -
I think (good) fanfiction is great. I think it's good that people don't only absorb a franchise, but also have it stimulate their imagination! Of course, there are many people with little imagination out there, but sometimes fanfiction can produce some great stuff.

TEA? I think the term you are looking for is LGM - Little Green Men. (at least that's what they were called in Buzz Lightyear of Star Command) And yes, I too have to have these ASAP, along with all the others! Btw, there are new hi-res pics in the Flickr photostream linked to below. This time, they're from TLC themselves! Turns out Buzz' head can be turned, so it must be a separate piece! I think I know what my sigfig is gonna wear from now on! Also, it looks like the figs can ride on Bullseye after all, and the material difference between the cowboys' heads & hats becomes even more clear! Oh, and have you seen the PoP movie poster? It gives a sneak peek at what kinds of swords we can expect! I just hope TLG doesn't use the old cutlass instead of making new molds.

Actually, I think that both licenses will end next year. Whether you like it or not, Indy is a dying franchise, and there are many signs that the theme wont go on for long anymore. one of them is that they are making a videogame that encompasses not much new aside from KotCS. If they were planning to make sets for a possible second movie, they would have waited with the game methinks. Also, there aren't many more iconic vehicles or locations they could base sets off of. Prince of Persia will most likely have only one wave to go along with the theatrical release, and will only have more sets when there will be a sequel is released (if there is gonna be one). Therefore, I'm predicting that by the end of next year, there will be no Indy and no PoP anymore, as sad as it sounds.

I don't think it's balancing on the cannon because there is a slight gap between the cannon and its reflection. It's balancing on whatever this is.

Why are people so bothered by the eyes? The horses have printed eyes too! Is it just because they have an additional highlight (tiny white dot) in their eye? Sure, some of the old animals had little holes as eyes, but I never thought that that was a good way to portrait eyes, so I like it much better this way. I agree, though, that the ostrich should have a tilting/movable neck. Haha! Great! Can't wait to see it! Btw, I'm sorry, but I don't think that two new animal molds deserve their own topic. At least not in the Licensed forum. So, could this please be moved or merged? If not, let's keep the discussion of anything else in the Disney topic. Again, sorry to mini-mod.

Lots of detailed pics of the Tantive's exterior and its figs here: Pic is a link.

Also, check out the PoP figs in the link below. Keep in mind, though, that these are still prototypes.

FBTB has posted new, much better pics of all the figs! And guess what - it includes one of an LGM (Little Green Men)! Click the pic to view the Flickr set. Those spaceman torsos will come in very handy for space MOCs! Another observation I made is that even though Buzz' wings don't seem to retract, they do look like they are detachable. Also, it's starting to look like the cowboys' hats are separate from their heads. Just look at the shininess of their faces versus the somewhat ruff texture of their hats. And, boy, are those army men AWESOME!
-
All of this looks very awesome! Buzz: He looks great! He even has leg and belt printing! Seeing the wings being new printed molds and his helmet being able to open sure are nice surprises as well. The only thing that bothers me is that his head seems a bit large and seems to be part of his chest armor mold. I hope that at least you can remove the wings, or if not, that we'll get a version of him without wings. Woody & Jesse: I like the new long leg and arm molds. They make them look very accurate in relation to the other characters, even though they look very similar to megablocks figs. Too bad that their hats seem to be part of their head mold, but at this scale, they wouldn't fit normal minifigs anyway. Pete & Zurg: Again, very good to scale with the other characters! I'm really glad that they made Zurg. His weapon is a big disappointment though. I was hoping for a clever brick-built gattling gun, but TLG had to go with the FFM solution again. They could've at least made the ball the right color, yellow. Oh well, I guess it goes better with the color scheme of the fig. Bullseye: He also looks very accurate. However, his posability seems very limited, and I doubt that Woody will be able to ride him. The army men: One word - Awesome! All those accessories in green, and those new helmet molds! Of course they are way out of scale, but who cares! I can see lots of war MOCs coming with these guys. TLC would be stupid not to release these in some kind of Battle Pack! RC: Looks like a good set. I expected something pretty much like this. I wonder if you can put the rocket onto Buzz somehow. The PoP figs: Excellent! Very much in the same quality as the Indy figs. And the camel and ostrich are undoubtedly great additions to the Lego animal kingdom. I'll be sure to get some of the sets, if only to get some of these great figs. The white head wraps will be great for a Staff of Ra Indy scene. No sign yet of the LGMs, Mr. Potato Head, or Slinky. However, if they make the army men and Bullseye, I'm sure they'll make them too.
