Well, after 2028 posts on these wonderful forums, I finally decided to officially post my sigfig! Here he is: Meet Oky Wan Kenobi. He is a jet trooper commander fighting in the Clone Wars. Here he is back-to-back with his troops: He looks quite a bit like me, no? Why have I waited so long to post it? Because I wanted him to have a proper jetpack. What many might not know is that I actually had this sigfig for a while now. He was my character in the SWCG, and he was even my representation at brickworld this year! Can you spot him in the group photo? I look forward to seeing him in some of your future MOCs.

It's that time of year again - Steam Empire Thread Revival Time! @ C-Bug: Interesting decal, but it looks kinda... weird. No offense, but I think I'll stick with a purist solution. @ Vertea: Nice MOCs, especially that Winged Beast - er, I mean "Empire Stalker Drone". Well, using that description, I have tried to come up with the best purist solution: Please let me know how you guys like it and if you have any suggestions for improvement. Also, I need some help with the design of the $100 set which I'm working on. I want it to be the Queen's Sky Fortress, and the general design will be a platform held in the air by two zeppelins on the sides. Right now I imagine it like King's Castle Siege in that it has a main tower in the back with the queen's throne in it and two smaller towers in the front with anti-air weapons on them, which guard a retractable ramp for Imperial flyers to take off from. In between, it will have some machinery of sorts. I don't want it to look too Castle-like and I could use some ideas to make it more interesting, so any suggestions are welcome.

I saw this travel game in the Lego store in Downtown Disney a few days ago: I wonder what other pieces it includes, so please let me know if you find an inventory of it.

Wait - so is there a Han fig AND a carbonite Han in this set? Or is it just the brick? Would be nice if it was both. Also, I doubt that what you saw was a sticker. It wouldn't make sense since there is already a printed version. (But then again, they started releasing a stickered version of the Republic insignia piece even though it existed in printed form already too. )

Or so it may seem. I had read somewhere that they manage it somehow, but I might have misinterpreted that. Yeah. He probably realized that he had barely any soul left by the time he was building 9, so he recorded what he wanted to tell 9 before he gave him his last bit of soul. I have been seeing some cool commercials for this movie on TV lately and am getting pretty excited to see it. Only two more weeks! On a side note, I wish the scientist would have explained why he made 3 & 4 twins. To help them record history more efficiently? To make sure that the memories of the past wont get lost even if something happens to one of them? Or all of the above? I don't get it.

Thanks for that info, rockinkurt13, and welcome to EB. I hope you are right about all of what you said. It's not surprising to me that they are making a Bossk mold, considering he appears in the CW as well, and they had to put something interesting in this set to make owners of the old versions of this ship buy it. But was Bossk even in Cloud City at the time? Meh, who cares. The Turbo Tank sounds good. I might actually get it this time around, especially if it comes with Ki Adi Mundi as I suspect. Any chacne you can give us a little more info about the minifigs in the pics you saw? That would be great! Apparently so. 'Cause Darth Legolas is right, I did point that out a while ago. Your lack of attention (to my posts) disturbs me. That's awesome! Thanks for letting us know! That totally justifies him smiling on the other side of his face!

I never understood the notion to keep sets MISB either, but then again, I'm not a collector. I only buy the sets I want (and can afford) and when I have them, I will want to build and play and have fun with them. Even if I don't intend to build it right away, or simply buy it for figs/parts, I still open it as soon as I get home (or, if I wont be home for a while, in the car), simply to see the newly acquired parts and figs and to feel the soothing touch of fresh, high-quality plastic between my fingers. There's nothing better than that. The only sets I ever kept MISB are my two extra copies of Mini V-19 Torrent and Mini Soulless One because they were cheap and I think they might be worth something some day. However, if I had the money to buy every set in multiples, I probably would have to leave some of them sealed due to lack of space too.

Suit yourself. Oh, and I forgot to mention that what makes this so innovative is partly the new art style: Stitchpunk!
-
Yeah, there is no record of it, but his name used to be Fat Turd, but he got it changed. You have some good points there. But still, we need her, and more clones in other colors. Ah yes, I forgot about that. Can't wait for the summary.

Well, you're mostly correct. This movie takes place in an alternate universe where after WW1, a scientist has created a form of artificial intelligence which gets stolen and misused by an authoritarian man called "The Chancellor". He turns it into a Fabrication Machine which creates war machines, and which eventually turns against the humans, killing everybody. But in the last days of humanity, the scientist uses alchemy to transfer his soul into the bodies of 9 ragdolls which he hopes will right the wrongs that have been done. The movie is about the struggle of these 9 ragdolls, especially the ninth one, to fight the machines and save man kind. If that's not your cup of tea, that's too bad, since this seems to be a good movie with a interesting story and lovable characters.

Nice work again. But why do you call him Tok Durd? His name is Lok Durd. You want droids but neither Aayla nor Bly?! Also, no Republic Cruiser in neither of these categories?

This new list of sets sounds interesting. The Turbo Tank and Plo's JSF sound plausible since they can be seen in the Season 2 trailer of the CW. GG's starfighter makes sense too since GG is one of the main villains in the CW there is no other way for TLG to release him since they seem to refuse to make CIS capital ships and his lair was only featured in one episode and probably wont return. This will give TLC a chance to redesign him. As mentioned before, he needs to be taller, so even if they simply exchange his legs against white SBD ones, I would be happy. Palpatines shuttle (if it is the one from ROTS) is a strange choice. Considering the rumors of an ARC 170 and a Tri-fighter, one could think they are bringing Ep.III sets back, but somehow I can't believe that. We'll see. Wampa attack sounds plausible too since it's the ESB anniversary, and a wampa is one of the only things people are still wishing for from that movie. And the minifig selection for the landspeeder sounds excellent to me (although I would have liked Tuskens too). Overal, next year sounds promising!

Well, there are "secret" threads, created by mods for discussing stuff, that are not viewable to the public. Until now, only KimT was known to have such a thread. However, sometimes you can see when a mod recently posted in these threads, and that's the way JCC found out that IS has created such a thread, and he thought it would be a good idea to post it. Capiche? Personally, I find these topics pretty pointless as well. Also, shouldn't this belong in the website forum?

"Goddamn machines" mumbled Jack. "It's bad enough they want to kill us, but now they want to replace us by taking our organs? That's just plain crazy." CC was still tinkering with the robot. "Almost done" he said. "Make sure to disarm him before you reactivate him" remarked Zach. CC replied: "Already ahead of you" and screwed off the robots claws. "Done!" CC flipped a switch and with an electronic sound, the robot came back to life. It took the machine to realize where it was, and as soon as it did, it got startled. "Infidels!" it exclaimed and tried to attack them, but it was then that it realized it was unarmed. "Nice try," said Jack, "but I think the "infidels" win this round." He picked up the robot with his mechanical arm at what could be considered its neck and started yelling at it: "Speak! Why do you rob innocent humans off their lives and organs!" The robot began to talk, with its electronic, yet somewhat human voice: "We, the Cyberions, are the most advanced beings in this world. By combining the strength of machines and the intelligence and reproducibility of humans, we have turned ourselves into the perfect lifeforms!" "YOU ARE NO LIFEFORM!" Jack shouted at the cyberion. "You are and always will be a damn machine! You make me sick you dirty little wanna-be cyborg motherf-" "I can take it from here" interrupted him Zach. He turned to the cyberion and demanded: "Tell us where your pals are or we will take you apart piece by piece!" "Never! I rather die!" said the cyberion, and with its clawless arm, it ripped out one of its cords that connect some vital organs in its body and lay lifeless in Jack hand a moment later. "Well, that got us nowhere" said Adam disappointed. "Yeah," said Zach, "but we have to concentrate on getting Bob's device together anyway. So, let's get movin'." They entered the ruins of City 17.

Not sure if this means anything, but just like the TS3 teaser trailer, the trailer for the 3D version of TS 1&2 features Lego bricks as well.

I couldn't agree more (hence my list of possible Incredibles sets). BLOSC was just another idea to add to the list. Not sure about Monsters Inc., but basically any PIXAR movie would be a good source for sets.

How so? 9 always seems to follow his own mind whereas 5 follows others he trusts. Isn't it obvious? I bet he puts his trust into the wrong person (or, more likely, a machine) at some point and looses his eye as a result and starts becoming paranoid. I doubt it. I think he will have the eyepatch by the time we are introduced to him in the movie. I absolutely agree. Do you think they are supposed to be girls? They look feminine to me.

With the Toy Story sets coming out, I thought they could make sets based on the cartoon Buzz Lightyear of Star Command too. If you haven't seen it, it's a great show with lots of references to SW and other great sci-fi works. Some ideas I would have are the Star Command Training Deck (skip to 3:11; I posted a link in the comments), Star Command Science Bay (skip to 1:25; again, link in comments), Construct-a-XR (using the Robo Attack trans dome), (0:44), Zurg's Dreadnought and Team Lightyear's Star Command cruiser 42. It's not likely since the show was never very popular, but it's an idea anyway. Just imagine a whole spaceship made out of purple parts! Oh well, I guess there's always MOCing. To infinity and beyond!

The same list that featured the Freeco bike also said that the BPs are Hoth, so you're contradicting yourself there. And to be smartassy: There are no Snowtroopers in the CW; only Cold Assault Troopers.

This is great, especially for being your first car MOC! I really like it. Is it based on something? It looks a lot like one of the vehicles from Jak 3, and the quote fits too. I agree that it would have looked good in brown or tan, but that color scheme is overdone, and it looks very good as it is.
-
This is how I think it could be: Starkiller kills Kenobi, Kenobi appears to Luke as a ghost earlier and tells him to find Yoda (or maybe some other Jedi who wasn't killed by Vader due to the change of the timeline), and as a result, Luke becomes a Jedi before he gets to Hoth. I will get this game too since I didn't have a PS3 at the time the first edition came out and got the mediocre Wii version instead. Of course, I will wait for it to drop in price though.

Try "BUTS": Big Ugly Troll Sword. (I'm not saying they're ugly, just that they aren't nearly as good as the real Lego scimitars would have been in this set. )

Indiana Jones 5 is aiming for a 2011 release!
Oky replied to Imperial Governer's topic in Culture & Multimedia
You "just read" it? Before you state/link to a reliable source, nothing is proven or confirmed. -
How about some Christmas Carol Scenes? Like Ebenezer Scrooge's residence/place of business for example. A frozen pond with people ice skating on it would be neat too.

Movie you liked but most people hated...
Oky replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Mine too. I think you are right, it's more Ep.I & II (or the PT in general) that people hate, but not so much Ep.III. Good answer. Seriously, guys, drop the "OMG, how could you possibly hate/love that movie so much?!" comments. That will just lead into a hate fest. I (and JimButcher) loved TPM too. Jar Jar doesn't bother me at all, the podrace is one of the coolest things I have ever seen, and Darth Maul (Ray Park, aka. Snake Eyes) is simply badass! @ Batbrick, Tyrant, and 5150 Lego: As interesting your discussion may be, it is a bit off topic, so please continue it somewhere else.
