Sure, it's a bit disappointing, but as long as they can still deliver what they did in the original show (great storytelling, animation, and humor), I'm fine with it. First you say you don't want the technology to advance much, and then you want them to have firearms? I wouldn't like that very much. One of the things I liked about ATLA was the Ancient Asia type of fantasy world it is set in. Firearms wouldn't fit into it, I think, whereas steampunk stuff does since it plays into the fantasy aspect of it. Also, I don't want this to become too similar to Star Wars. The Anti-Bender revolt already sounds a bit too much like the Great Jedi Purge. Bringing guns into the story would thin the line between the two sagas even more.

Guys, forget about TRON! Not only is this the wrong place to discuss this, but also the movie comes out in a couple of months and we don't have any sign of there being any sets for it. We would have heard or seen something by now. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

I really like the look of Shaak and the 1.5 trooper. Shaak looks very similar to how she looked in the original CW series, which is great and fits into the style perfectly. The trooper looks simply badass with that skull helmet paint job would certainly make a great minifig! He even seems to have a jetpack, which makes even the more cool! As for seeing Jedi without armor, yeah, that would probably be an improvement, even though I really like Obi's outfit, even more so than the one he had in the old CW, hence it having been my last halloween costume. Oh, and I too would like to see that vid that was posted before if someone has an alternate link. -

Yeah, you're probably right. But maybe we'll at least get the guns in some nice metallic color! Do you think Jack has a double sided face? If so, what will the other side be; a serious face or a funny scared face? It would seem plausible since most of his head is covered and he can't even normally turn it. -

Wait, why did this get moved to ClassicPirates? This is clearly a Disney licensed theme! -

I took some close-ups so that we can see the fig better (click the pic for large version): Why did they have to put him on a camel, dammit! I wanna see his leg printing! -
You mean have SW invade the other themes by making their vehicles look like ones in the other theme? Interesting thought, but then again, what's really the difference between an AAT that looks like a firetruck and a firetruck that looks like an AAT? I think that would end up in very similar entries.

Yeah, unfortunately. But just like with Toy Story, I prefer it this way. Do you think we'll get a new, smaller compass piece? Or will it just be a printed 1x1 tile? How about new, more accurate guns? -

Yup. I knew this was gonna happen as soon as they discontinued the Pirates line and rumors of a PotC theme started popping up. That Jack fig looks great. It really looks the part. His hat and hair seem to be one piece, so it's probably one of those painted, separately bagged Chinese parts. Can't wait to see other figs and of course the sets! -
Or, even better, switch his head with one of the werewolf ones from the Monsters 4 game!

Oh wow, I didn't even expect to get this far! Thanks guys! Now I have to think of a new comic... Prepare for the Return of the Blue Avenger!

The way I see it, while ATLA focused on Aang trying to find masters and learning bending, TLOK will focus more on the Avatar's duties, keeping peace and such, a theme that was only touched upon in ATLA with episodes like "The Great Divide". I hope they keep the humor of the first show. It's one of the major things that made it so enjoyable. Right now I can hardly imagine any character that's as hilarious as Sokka or Iroh, but I have faith in the creativity of the creators, so we'll just have to wait and see. That said, I wonder what Korra's animal companion will be.

Sweet! Thanks for the link! An anti-bender revolt, eh? Sounds intriguing! I always wondered what the relationship between benders and non-benders is. I always figured the non-benders must be quite jealous. And I'm always keen on more steampunk, so I say bring on 2011! Who knows, if Lego sees the success of this, they might revive the theme and finally give us the first official steampunk sets!

It seems to me that Prof. Longbottom is as forgetful as he was during his youth.

To mark the end of my summer break, I created this summer-spirited vehicle, the latest installment in my series of Star Command MOCs! It's loosely based on the vehicle from the beginning of the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins movie (Skip to 2:40 to see it). I modified the color scheme quite a bit since it looked too much like a Zurg vehicle in the movie in my opinion. "Greetings, I am Buzz Lightyear. I come in peace. This is the Star Command Dune Buggy, our most powerful vehicle for exploring sandy and uneven planets! It seats up to five space rangers and features opening doors, adjustable lights, and suspension for each wheel. My partner, Oky Wan, and I will demonstrate it for you." As you can see, it can climb even the sandiest dune! Wherever Zurg hides, we'll find him! It has a big Star Command symbol on the back. It's big, heavy, and roomy. A bumper sticker on the back expresses the driver's opinion of a certain evil emperor quite clearly. As mentioned earlier, each wheel has its own suspension. The technique used to achieve this is the same as in 8059 Seabed Scavenger. Here are some pics to demonstrate the suspension: Testing the suspension: Let's get into further detail. Here is a close-up of the cockpit. It features a radar for locating life forms and other things. The doors open smoothly. The trunk opens as well and has plenty of room for storing Space Ranger equipment. Oh no! Looks like we got a stowaway! We better bring him back to Star Command. Here is the trunk without the alien: More pics in this Brickshelf folder. I hope you like it. Farewell, and have a nice, Zurg-less summer!

Happy Birthday, my friend (and you other people)! I hope you have a nice Lego filled B-day party, but don't drink too much - we don't want you to loose your vast Star Wars knowledge! May the Force be with you! That someone may have been me.

Oh, I see. I was quite confused for a moment there too. You could have at least put in some quotation marks or something. But yeah, let's not call it "magic", let's call it "fantasy", cuz that's ultimately what it is.

Here is another version of the sigfig pic from Nannan Z: Click the pic to see who is who! I think this should be frontpaged! The people who don't attend Brickworld don't usually come to this forum, and I think everyone should see this since Stash worked so hard to make everyone's sigfig and put it in there! Thanks again, Stash, for doing this! I wish I could be there in the flesh, but there is barely ever such an event here at the West Coast.

Well, we did have the Invasion contest where you could build a City version of a SW vehicle already.
-
No, but it certainly fits into "magic". Again, Harry Potter is a good example.

Even better if you ask me! I always love well thought out time travel stories, and considering that ATLA was written about as well as the Harry Potter books (which involved time travel too by the way) I'm sure it could make for a great story! And as Aanchir said, it will probably be some "Avatar stuff" as Sokka would call it, not some H.G.Wells-esque time machine.

Cool, thanks. So, do you have to buy two sets from these themes for the coupon to work or would it be OK if only the discounted set is from one of those themes?

Oh, I see. Forgot about that. Well, I don't know about Filch, but it is a known fact that pure-bloods look down on squibs. LINK
