  1. I disagree, Champion looks like a very fun game to me! If you look at the bottom of the box art, you can see what the five challenges are: target shooting (though I have no clue what the targets are), balance-stacking (the game from the box art where you start out with one brick and have to put a piece onto the tower each turn, and with each turn, you add an extra brick to your piece), brick speed stacking, some kind of color guessing game, and... well, frankly, I have no idea what the last one is, but I'm sure it's fun as well. $35 may be a bit much, but you get at least five games in one! As for the odd variety of the microfigs, I'm guessing it's like in monopoly where you can choose the piece that looks the coolest to you.
  2. Correct. Believe it or not, they're guns! Haven't you seen the trailer? That depends on whether the mouth and eyes are stickers or printed. By the way, check out this piece of awesomeness:
  3. There's only one other civilian, a female news reporter, in the mothership set. There's also a scientist in the Earth Defense HQ, but he's part of the ADU. You can see all of the figs in the second half of .By the way, why did it change from ADF to ADU? What does it stand for, Alien Defense... Union? I liked Force better. @ Tereglith: I don't know if you found out already, but the Jetcopter is $39.99.
  4. Happy Valentines Day! Aurra: "I never asked permission for anything, my darling." Hondo: "Ah yes... I remember."
  5. Now they do! Here's the explosion feature: "Oh no!" Looks like the FF tree has a similar play feature to Dobby's Release: They also have some better pics of the interior: It looks indeed quite sparse, and the Gryffindor bunks are pretty random. Not bad though. And since they didn't include Trelawney, at least they included a crystal ball for throwing. Also, it looks like the globe does represent the Earth. How odd, I guess it's not the Astronomy Tower after all. I wonder if there's something hiding behind the Mirror of Erised...
  6. I don't think there will be a lot more pics. Most of the other sets (if not all) are based on Cars 2, and as this shot shows, Disney doesn't want us to see any spoilers. However, you can see some more pics of Mack's truck and Ultimate Build McQueen here: http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=album&album=2011_Toy_Fair%2FLEGO&dispsize=800&start=0 McQueen Looks better from that angle, but the interior of the truck looks very sparse. EDIT: Looks like I was wrong! Here are some pics after all: 8206 Tokyo Pitstop - 147 pieces, $14.99 USD / $19.99 CAD 8638 Spy Jet Escape - 339 pieces, $49.99 USD / $64.99 CAD They look like neat sets, and I think their prices are reasonable.
  7. Then paint her. You can see hints of the interior through the windows. There's a chandelier, removable beds, the shrunken head is printed on a round brick rather than the windshield, and I'm sure there's other stuff too. The tower in the hogwarts castle is just a tower with a telescope on it. That doesn't necessarily make it an astronomy tower. Yeah, it doesn't seem to depict Earth. Perhaps it's a globe of the moon or something. That would make more sense than one of Earth for an astronomy tower. And I do believe the bus has an open back door. You can see it through the last window.
  8. Well, the sets look nice, but somehow I can't help but feel disappointed. FF and KB only offer two or three new figs; FF just comes with a lame tree and even though the KB looks improved, it doesn't seem to come with as many purple bricks as I had hoped. But I guess it was nearly impossible to beat the fantastic last wave. Why was everyone expecting a new mold for nagini? She's just a snake like any other. It was quite obvious to me that TLG wouldn't make a new mold for that. What do you mean, reduced price? It's $5 more than the last one. Considering we get Ernie and an improved interior, that's OK though. The exterior looks more accurate to me too, although I think I liked the roof on the old one better. Well, I guess I'm stupid then because I have no use for a tree and the only new fig is Narcissa, so I think I'll pass. I'd much rather get the PotC Captains Cabin.
  9. Remember that game with the colorful 2x4 bricks? I believe it's the one called "Lego Champion - 5 Fun Family Challenges" in the lower right corner in this pic: http://i.toynewsi.com/g/albums/2011_Toy_Fair/LEGO/IMG_1958.jpg EDIT: Yup, I was right. You can see a lot of great pics of the boardgames, including Champion, right here. Looks like it comes with a great variety of microfigs, including a plain pearl gold one! Might be worth getting just for those. EDIT 2: Yet more pics from FBTB. All games come out in August: 3846 UFO Attack - 88 pieces, $9.99 USD ($12.99 CAD) 3855 Ramses Return - 99 pieces, $14.99 USD ($19.99 CAD) 3857 HEROICA Draida Bay - 101 pieces, $14.99 USD ($19.99 CAD) 3858 HEROICA Waldurk Forest - 225 pieces, $19.99 USD ($26.99 CAD) 3859 HEROICA Caverns of Nathuz - 217 pieces, $19.99 USD ($26.99 CAD) 3860 HEROICA Castle Fortaan - 304 pieces, $29.99 USD ($39.99 CAD) 3861 LEGO Champion - 216 pieces, $34.99 USD ($44.99 CAD)
  10. Turns out the "clever abduction function" is just a bunch of pointy rubber Exo Force pieces at the bottom of the UFO. Hopefully we'll get to see the video that guy is taking soon!
  11. Hm, no, I don't think this is right. The son exclaimed cries of devastation well before the father stated their connection, so I think that statement was just intended to let the audience know about their connection and the son did know about it. The son seriously tried to kill the father twice before this, and even believed him to be dead at one point, but didn't care. He never had any affection for him as, like he stated, his sister was the only one he ever loved. So why was he so devastated to see him die? Maybe it was the Dark Side that made him hate his father and when his powers were cut off, he snapped out of it? If so, why didn't it affect his love for the sister? Brickadeer, I think you misunderstood the interaction between Anakin and the father. The father says: And now, I die, my heart broken, but knowing the role you will play". So the broken heart part referred to the son. And in the scene before Anakin stabs the son, the father gives him a look that seems to say "Do it now", so I believe this was indeed the father's plan. Thanks for trying to help me understand though. I'm curious to see the commentary for this episode. I wonder why it hasn't shown up yet? Wow, thanks for the link, Roncanator! I've been looking for a site where I can download the episodes in a higher quality for the Rewatching the Clone Wars thread without having to join any torrent sites! I don't have any trouble viewing and hearing it. Maybe you're using the wrong software to play it? I used Nero. Calm down and read the post again, nobody is "ranting against EU". No offense, but it's just a little annoying when people like you keep saying "BUT THAT'S NOT HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE!". Like someone already said, as far as canon goes, EU has lower priority than the stuff Lucas is involved in, so what George says goes. And sadly, I think Penitent Tangent is right in saying that George doesn't care much for EU. The only time they really honored EU in this show, it was his daughter writing the episode.
  12. So... Either this was indeed a dream that the three Jedi somehow had together or time flows much faster on Mortis. Seeing how they lived through several seasons during their stay their, I'd go with the latter. Either way, I still don't get these episodes. I do see the symbolism, but I don't understand how it all fits together. For instance, why was the son so devastated that the father took his life after attempting to murder him himself? And I thought only the blade of mortis could kill the son? Or did the father's death make him mortal or something? I'll have to rewatch these episodes sometime to understand it, I guess. Anaking? I disagree. It made sense because he didn't know why is going to betray Obi Wan. And it the next episodes look MUCH less weird than this Mortis arc. In fact, I'm looking foward to it despite its already apparent flaws.
  13. Well, I was going to post these in a thread of their own, but seeing how popular this thread has gotten, I decided to post them here: Some Lego design flaws can be quite problematic. Sometimes creativity can be a life-saver.
  14. As a matter of fact, I did, and the second time I took that class, I only passed with a C. No, although the general shape of the alien heads is indeed similar.
  15. Here you go: a 40% off one item coupon!
  16. I don't think the cape is short, a lot of it is bent back, though that could change in the final design. And how could a torso that says "Glove World" on it be useful? Wouldn't they? Seriously though, I'm quite puzzled about this as well. I didn't have anything to do, so I just spent about an hour researching this, but I couldn't find anything. These costumes appeared neither in the show nor in any books, so unless it's from a comic from some Nick magazine or something, I'd say it's just an artwork Nickelodeon created for merchandise. Either way, it's quite a strange thing to base a set on, especially with much more well known Spongebob superhero designs around. On the other hand, the other designs aren't associated with any (visisble) vehicles, so it would make sense that TLC would choose this non-canon SuperSponge in order to have the creative license to create their own vehicle for him. If the last wave wasn't an indication of this them coming to an end, this one sure is.
  17. To all those who are complaining that we are getting mini models instead of little minifig-scale accessories: Think about your argument for a second. What kind of minifig-scale things could you put into an advent calendar? A weapons rack? A turret? A computer? An under-scaled walker/speeder? All those are things that you can get from affordable Battle Packs or make out of the pieces of one. These micro models are things that you would never see in normal sets, and they are actually kinda clever since they have movable wings and therefore playability. As for the minifigs, would you really rather have another copy of a main character that you only need once than one of these rare pilots?
  18. True, but it's the only new image I can provide. I was being sarcastic. If there were new images, they'd be all over the web by now. Don't worry, if I see something reliable that's not in this thread, I'd post it.
  19. They keep throwing in OT characters (and even dead PT characters) just to keep the OT fans interested, regardless of whether they end up ruining the character or not. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a kid Han Solo too at some point too.
  20. Yes, I have hundreds of new images, but I was waiting for someone to ask me to post them. Is this new? I found it on Brickipedia... EDIT: I probably shouldn't deeplink it.
  21. Except they look nothing like them. I can see how the ravenclaw might be based off of Cho, but the others are probably just generic characters. But if I had to guess, it would be: Gryffindor: Olliver Wood Slytherin: Gregory Goyle Hufflepuff: Zacharias Smith
  22. Yeah, these are quite disappointing, even for Spongebob. Glove World looks even worse than I thought, and there's nothing really new here, just minifigs we've already had with new prints. Heroic Heroes looks alright, but too bad it doesn't come with Mermaid Man or Man Ray. I was already planning "Batman meets Mermaidman" MOCs in my head. And it looks like the boat uses the <insert that tiresome argument> airplane hull. I do like Plankton's little contraption, the printed Krabby Patties, and the recipe tile though, so if I can get it under $10, I might consider it. And Matn is right, Spongebob's cape is (dark) blue, not purple.
  23. I would have preferred a MIB faction over these bright blue Halo copies too, but yes, this will probably appeal to kids, and we've had a secret agent theme recently anyway. I'm talking about the formatting; all those paragraphs.
  24. Uhm, the first clip was censored, proving KDM's point, and the second clip doesn't even mean anything. Wow, he looks nothing like Tarkin. Sorry for this outburst, but... Stop it with the fan-service already!!
  25. You know, I've been thinking the same thing. When it comes to Lego, "clever" doesn't usually mean "complex" but rather "simple yet effective", and they have been using those rubber pieces quite creatively recently, so it seems plausible. I'm sorry, but that fig has nothing to do with MIB. For starters, he doesn't wear black, but dark blue. Neither does he wear sunglasses, but instead normal nerdy glasses. And then there's the whole running away thing you mentioned. You can make a much better MIB fig with an Agent Chase head and one of the black suits that already exist. You don't think very highly of your own race, do you? Traitor! And please stop writing your posts like poems; it makes them kinda hard to read. By the way, on closer inspection, most of the outer ring of the mothership seems to be made out of the curved Temple of Doom rails in black. It makes the set kinda <insert that tiresome argument>, but it also gives me hope that it wont be too expensive. I really want that alien commander.
