  1. Isn't it about time to take off that Santa Claus hat? :D

  2. Yeah, Brickset isn't usually known to do April Fools pranks (one of the reasons why I like that site), so these are real. It's just a big coincidence that all these instructions were added on April 1, or a bad joke by the Lego employees themselves. Anyway, I believe a deeplink is in order: They aren't great, but they do look nice. They're good parts packs and I wouldn't mind getting a couple of them.
  3. Well, I already mentioned everything I can think of... I do have one more idea, but it's for the Xmas contest: Build a vignette where the new Santa Yoda minifig can be displayed!
  4. Wow. What a letdown. Looks like they're copying the Battle of Mon Calamari from SW:CW now too. And Grievous getting beaten by a Gungan?! Ugh. While there's nothing wrong with the Phase Ones, it's nice that we're getting into the phase 2s now, although there does seem to be something off about their design. This along with the "promise" of more Mortis episodes makes me not look forward to this season one bit. It's a shame really.
  5. Hehe, good ones. Keep 'em coming! Here's another one from me:
  6. Indeed. Although I gotta say yours are pretty good. Anyway, I finally got some S4 figs! This next one is kinda similar to Brick_Pig's joke from a couple of pages ago, but I hope you'll still enjoy it: When the Republic converted their weaponry to flick-fire technology, the job of most clone gunners was reduced to pushing pins.
  7. New promo sets: And no, this is not a joke. At least I don't think so, considering Brickset added them to their data bank. They look quite nice as they remind me of the old adventurers promos. However, they don't contain anything special, so I probably wouldn't get them.
  8. Thanks everyone! Actually, only 3 sets, along with some keychains and a Prof. A. Hale head. But I have a lot of the old desert Adventurers. Hopefully they'll show up Down Under soon. I thought about that, but since usual regular-sized chess sets don't have thrones and because it would have made it difficult for them to hold their staffs, I decided against it. No, nobody I know really likes chess. Heavens no! Thanks for your suggestions, I appreciate it, but I didn't really intend this to be like the giant chess set, more like a regular-sized one with a fancy base, so none of the things you suggested would fit on the board as it is now. Besides, why would ostriches rear up? It's the S2 Pharaoh. Maybe the fact that Amset's "wife" isn't actually female? With the eyeliner and all, I thought he could pass for a woman. Not sure what else you could be referring to. So... Are you saying it's good that I used the S2 pharaoh? I'm confused. Not really; most of the pieces can still be placed next to the flying mummies. But if the wings do get in the way, you can always just take them off. Hm, well regular-sized chess sets are normally $50, and the base is made out of approximately 240 pieces, so at 10 cents per piece, that would be... $74 USD? I bet TLC would round it up to $75 or even $80 though.
  9. Hello, fellow adventurers! Here's my first entry for this epic contest, a Pharaoh's Quest Chess Set! The battle for the lost treasure between archeologists and mummies has begun! The battle takes place on top of a large tomb that is richly decorated with hieroglyphics. On each side, there's a treasure, and whichever faction wins, gets it! On the Adventurers side, Jake and Helena are the king and queen, while Mac and Prof. Hale serve as bishops. The knights are pilots riding ostriches and the rooks are crates of archeological equipment. Here we see Pharaoh Amset Ra and his resurrected wife leading their army of undead mummies into battle. Their Anubis guards are the bishops, the flying mummies are the knights, and cursed obelisks form the rooks. More pics in this brickshelf folder. Let me know what you think! I'm planning more PQ-themed entries, so this was only a taste of what's yet to come! And remember: "Adventure is out there!"
  10. Phew! I finally got an idea which no one has thought of yet! Oh Poodoo! Boba Fett already had "a bad feeling about this" when he got out of bed this morning, and it looks like he was right. During one of his bounty hunts, a giant bird flew over his head and dropped a whole lot of poodoo all over poor Boba. (The clone is a stand-in for the white Boba Fett minifig.)
  11. Thanks, but mine can't be any weirder than what Praiter posted.
  12. Haha, good one, Brick_Pig! Nah, I think he's just bored. It's not the first time Ackbar has visited him, you know. Be my guest to expand on it! New ones from me: How Episode I Should Have Ended Watch out, evil-doers, there's a new superhero in town! Who is it? Well, it's Admiral Obvious obviously! Saving the day by pointing out the obvious, one trap at a time! His only weakness: Plots that don't involve traps.
  13. Well, I think it was pretty obvious from the start that the minifig would be some new version of Harry; the only question was which one, and I guess all you ball dress guessers were right. It makes sense when you think about it, but I'm still disappointed. I think I'll only get it on sale. No, it hasn't.
  14. Still no entries? Maybe this will get this thread going:
  15. I find it odd that not a single word is said during that commercial. Anyway, I found this on youtube. Not sure what it is, but it looks official and is quite humorous. Anybody know anything about it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5Q8BO-LaMM&feature=related
  16. Have you checked brickset or brickipedia? It's not supposed to be released for another week, so yes, at this point it's kinda rare, but beginning next month, it should be on S@H and other stores.
  17. I had a little bit of time to play it today, and I gotta say it's pretty awesome. The most interesting thing for me was that while in the Venator, you can open up a map of the playable planets and choose which villain to pursue, kinda like in Ratchet & Clank. It's really fun instantly barbecuing entire droid armies with the stun tank! Yes, I am too. I was hoping that was preliminary, but no. I don't understand why they did this, and it does look weird with the brown neck print.
  18. It also means that the Black Pearl set will probably be based on the original 3 films, so there's hope for a Davy Jones fig yet!
  19. Yeah, even though now we can see his freckles. Oh, okay then. But I can recommend you to watch Family Guy: Blue Harvest. It's pretty good, even if you usually don't like FG. Thanks, but I gotta admit that I cheated on the lighting. The fading darkness was edited in afterwards. Your stuff is pretty good too. Indeed. Therefore, here's another one: Astromech Prostitution In order to raise funds for the rebellion, Artoo "sold his body" to an advertisement company.
  20. Just search for and join the groups that interest you (e.g. Lego Star Wars, Lego Castle, Lego Space, etc.) and start commenting on MOCs you like. But just like on EB, make sure you make meaningful comments rather than just "LOL" or "Awesome!". And if you already have a friend here on EB or someone whose MOCs you like, try finding them on Flickr or just ask them for their Flickr username. Also, get your own MOCs seen by adding them to as many groups that they fit into as possible, but don't go too crazy and respect the guidelines of each group. Other than that, just be polite, and you'll be set to go. I hope this helped. There was a Flickr tutorial around here somewhere, but that one focused more on the technical aspects.
  21. Excuse my ignorance here, but uhm... So what? Just because some web content was removed doesn't mean the end of the world a theme. If you cared so much about the content, you probably saved it to your hard drive, so it shouldn't be a total loss. In my opinion, a theme is "gone" by the time you don't find it on store shelves anymore, which is a long time ago for EF.
  22. Thanks. First post has been updated. Hm... I think I'll get one of these games, just for the parts, but I'm not sure which one. They all have pretty neat parts...
  23. Ugh. With every good news, bad news always follows. Hopefully the continuation of that arc will actually make sense and have a point. By the way, commanderneyo, could you please always state your source?
  24. What's so funny? None except the 2x2 cone, I believe, but the fact that a piece doesn't exist in a particular color prior to production didn't stop them before (as proven by the example of Agents). Oh, and thanks for the slightly larger pic, Delta 38.
  25. No, I believe the official term is metallic silver. Surprisingly, the new Dooku's lightsaber hilt is chrome, and the Kingdoms sets as well as Hogwarts Castle still employ the chrome-gold sword and crown. I too am disappointed with the Naboo Fighter. I think they should have done it like the UCS version, with the underside gray and the wings and engines chrome, or at least metallic silver. I mean come on, they released a car that's almost entirely made out of silver, so how hard can it be to make those couple of pieces in that color. Also, I'd much rather have another vulture droid than those ugly carts and Droideka, especially if the set costs as much as the rumors say.
