  1. Poor you. For only 25 bucks, I kinda doubt that.
  2. Oh, okay. I wasn't sure about that since some contests don't allow for individual entry threads to be created prior to the end of the contest. So does this mean we're allowed to convert a set into an underwater vehicle rather than make a sunken version of it after all?
  3. I am confused. Are you saying this is a valid entry? If so, shouldn't this be moved into the entry thread?
  4. It's not the bulkiness that bothers me. They could have used these HF parts and still made them look somewhat accurate, but instead, they made weird looking heads and added giant shoulder pads onto them.
  5. My theory is that since the medusas were cyborgs, the boomers paralyzed the cybernetic part of them, rendering them harmless. Plus the Gungans made a surprise attack from above, and as we all know jellyfish are only dangerous from below.
  6. Brickdoctor - 1 point The Penguin - 1 point Siegfried - 1 point
  7. Thanks. From Santa Claus. No, seriously, it's a Santa/Pirate hat that I 'shopped a white stripe on, like prateek said. Also from Santa Claus.
  8. Nice ones, The Penguin! Good to see you in here again. However, I have one criticism to give, if I may: Your pictures are very washed out. I had a hard time recognizing Lucas. You might wanna not make them so bright. Otherwise good work! And now, I introduce to you the first interactive Single-Pane SW Funny! Where's Wald? Count Poopu And last but not least, a groaner:
  9. Great work again, Legostein! You're really getting the full Star Wars potential out of that set!
  10. Yeah, the Royal Guard should probably be added to the list, as should the Roman Soldier from Series 6, who is sure to win over a lot of the votes. The question is what do we call these army builders then... The Sexy Six?
  11. Yeah, these episodes sure were unimpressive. While I would have never expected them to even come close to the epicness of the Mon Cal Battle from '03, I still think they could have done better. Kit Fisto should have literally been in his element here, but he was just the usual "that other jedi master who joins Anakin & Co." The only somewhat interesting character here was Sharkboy, but even he was just a generic bad guy. Those big jellyfish were about as imposing as the ones from Spongebob Squarepants, and would somebody please tell me what the hell those tubes were good for? They didn't seem to serve any purpose and couldn't even withstand a headbutt. Oh well, at least they were better than all those political and Mortis episodes from last season. Plus they fit right in with our Underwater Month. But still: Unimpressive. Most unimpressive... Yeah, that did seem kinda lame, but like he said, he has to concentrate to use the force, and it's kinda hard to concentrate when you're suffocating while being shot at. Well, the Republic was obviously short on troops, and I'm guessing the CIS was too, plus they were blind due to Anakin taking out the scanner building. Well said, my friend. By the way, they already have a preview up for the next episode "Prisoners" on Starwars.com. Looks like it's Kit's turn to have a Captain Obvious moment. "Ah, eels, very dangerous." Really?
  12. No, but you linked to it several times, like when I posted my Antisoka funny. And you also linked to several other FBTB comics throughout this thread. It's just getting a bit repetitive.
  13. Great work all around! The first half of your entry was already awesome, but this makes the whole thing at least twice as impressive! But why doesn't Leia have a nose?
  14. Nice work, Skrytsson, although some of them are kind of unoriginal and some seem like repeats of the same joke. My favorite would have to be #8. Are you going to say this every time somebody makes an Order 66 joke?
  15. For those of you saying that the dinos (or at least T-Rex) should be brick-built, I suggest that you look at it from a set-designer's point of view. These dinos are meant to be playable, much like the dinos in previous Dino themes and the Fantasy Era dragons, so a more action-figure like stable version makes more sense. Also, if the T-Rex would be brick-built, it would be much heavier, making it almost impossible to lift it up with the helicopter, especially with such a flimsy claw design.
  16. A few comments: If this is your entry it should be posted in the entry thread. I think you misunderstood the point of the contest. The latest comment in the contest discussion thread clearly states that your entry should be a sunken version of your chosen set, not an adaption to an underwater vehicle. Most of the set seems to have remained the same aside from the windshield and the wheels. I would try to modify it a bit more to make it look like a underwater scene, such as putting the phone on the ground and putting moss on top of the machine. That said, I do like what you have done here. The base you have created for it looks nice, and the vehicle, while not fulfilling the contest requirements, looks like a cool James Bond-esque underwater car. I just think you can take it a bit further. Good luck!
  17. Ugh, I don't like Joker at all. Those huge shoulders, those spikes, those gray parts, that two-colored lightning tie... And what the heck is that weapon he is holding supposed to be? Some sort of suction-cup dart gun? Cap looks decent, although he also suffers from ginormous shoulders and a too stylized head. Sadly no, not yet. Those don't have anything to do with this topic anyway.
  18. It's not your best alternate build, but it's still pretty good and instantly recognizable. Nice work.
  19. My apologies once more for the revival, but looking at the prelims of the upcoming Dino theme I just had another idea: How about a Prehistoric month? We could have all kinds of activities revolving around Dinosaurs and Cavemen, like a build-a-dino contest or a contest about creating a primitive "Caveman" version of an existing set! Also, with the Ninjago theme going strong, I still think a ninja month would be a possibility.
  20. Looking at the Genie, I think it's time for a new ghost! It could have the genie's tail in white, a new, more pointy ghost headgear, and maybe the short Ninjago chains. Also, a mermaid would be nice, one that uses the PotC fish tail, has new torso print, and hair with clams or sea stars or algae printed on it, kinda like the new Poison Ivy!
  21. Thanks, everyone! I'm very glad you like it so much. Thanks! Interesting observation. Good thing I didn't use dark red then. Now that would have really looked like blood! Perhaps it was intended by the movie makers? Sorry, but yes, that would indeed be asking to much of me as I sadly don't have the required amount of bricks to make the entire room. Besides, I had to stay within the 32x32 limit for the contest. I'd love to see your rendition of it! Well, they're on the side of the room which I didn't make, and I only have one of them anyway. If I had two, I might have included them in that picture. Yeah, if I could I would have used dark red too, but sadly I have hardly any bricks in that color. I see what you did there. I know what you mean about it being too tall. It's another issue of not having the right pieces in the right color. The 1x8 arches probably would have been the right size, but I could only find two of them in gray. I disagree on the "fatness" though. I actually think it's not thick enough. Look at the reference picture; the window looks like it's at least one meter thick! A what now? Indeed it is. I have done SNOT bases before, but this is the largest I have done to date, and this was the first time I stole used Skrytsson's curved wall technique. I think it came out pretty good for my first time using them. EDIT: Since none of the other rebel bloggers cared to do so, I'll go ahead and shamelessly blog this myself.
  22. Ah, the chancellor's office! A place where the soon-to-be emperor can have exciting political meetings, fry jedi masters, and appoint his next apprentice! Many significant events of the Clone Wars took place in this room. Here' the jedi masters' meeting with the chancellor in Attack of the Clones: Windu dueling Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith: "UNLIMITED POWWWAAAAH!!!" I made this bignette as an entry for the 32x32 category of the Order 99 Epic Fails contest on CABG: Order 66 would have failed epically if Mace Windu would have been wise enough to take the entire Jedi Order with him to arrest Palpatine. This is also where I shot my latest single-pane funny: You can find more pictures in this Brickshelf folder. I hope you like it.
  23. Thanks. No, why?
  24. Nice ones, Lord of the Fries and LuxorV! I got some new ones too: How Episode III Should Have Ended Wald Disney Ever wonder what happened to Anakin's little Rodian friend from Tatooine? He went on to become a famous animator and built up an evil empire of his own.
  25. Let's just say I'm not a big fan of that franchise. Wow. Troll much? It's OK if you don't like them, but just calling everything "ugly" isn't exactly a reasonable critique.
