Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Oky replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
This deal season is getting worse all the time. Seriously, Maul got bisected and fell down many stories into a reactor. I don't care how cool he is or how "unnatural" the abilities of a Sith are; that guy should be dead. They better have a damn good explanation for this, and he better be as badass as he was in the movie. -
It's just Jack Sparrow's head. But yes, it does work quite well for Tony, so I don't think I would mind if they just stick with it in the final version.
-
OK, so I think it's safe to assume that the Cloud Car and Endor AT-ST from the Jedi News list are the Series 2 Planet sets that we see in these new pictures. I don't think we'll be getting Minifig-scale version of these vehicles since we just had an AT-ST in the Endor Battle set, and I don't think they would release a cloud car in the same wave as the Desert Skiff since they're sets of approximately the same size. Either way, we're getting a new Lobot, and that's all I need to know!
-
Well, sort of. Cygnet posted this pic way back in this thread: It's possible that it wont be able to flip up in the final version, but for now it looks like it will.
-
Yup, that trailer sure gave me a nerdgasm. They do seem to emphasize on Tony Stark, and there's nothing wrong with that if you ask me. Robert Downy Jr. rocks! Besides, Iron Man has always been a kind of Second in Command anyway. Seven months is way too long to wait, both for this epic movie AND the Lego sets!

Interesting set names. The set with Cap will probably be him on his motorcycle. Not sure what the Wolverine set could be about. "Chopper" could either refer to Wolverine's motorcycle or to helicopter. If it's really $50, maybe it's Wolverine in the Blackbird versus Magneto and Deadpool in a helicopter? I don't know. Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape could be anything. I agree that B/out probably means bust- or breakout. It's strange though that the helicarrier set is smaller than the Quinjet. No, those are regular non-Lego shows. Young Justice is already halfway through its first season, and GL:TAS will start in spring. It's very pleasing to hear that a Lego Superheroes game is in the works though! Especially if it really does combine Marvel and DC!

No. Seriously though, Anakin's arms were brown in that scene, and I used the emperor version of Palpy to make it clear that this is after the fight with Mace. Yes, obviously it's meant to be sarcastic. If you click on the picture, you'll see that the title of this funny is "Useless Backup".

Do my eyes deceive me or are people actually complaining that they are getting pretty much the same sets that they were asking for since the discontinuation of the Batman theme?? Sigh. Some people just can NEVER be pleased.

Yeah, not bad, MattieG7, but it's indeed way too dark and blurry. Keep practicing and you'll get there! Here are some more from me, one from each of my favorite licenses! Except for Avatar, but I've done several of those already anyway. If only Lego could have released a Mr. Potato Head. And Slinky.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

Interesting theory, but I don't think so. For the Wookiees it makes sense since they basically only communicate in growls, but the Arleena's language just sounds like a slightly different language, so I think they could speak basic if they wanted to. The thing with the computer puzzled me a bit too, but I dismissed it thinking that they must have gotten the technology from offworldlers. Because there's no way a race that seems so primitive could have developed their own computer system. Yeah, this show sure seems to hate using subtitles. Greedo can somehow speak Basic in this show, and even Jabba is always being translated by a protocol droid. -
Thanks for the review. This is indeed one review we have been missing. I've always wanted this set, but now that we have a much better Grievous, I have lost interest. The wheelbike sure could use improvement too, but I actually liked the Boga in this set. She looks pretty accurate; all she needs is some printing. The immobility of the legs is a pity though. And what more play features would you want to see on her? Flick-fire missiles?
-
Welcome to the forum, Cee. Cool Podracer you made there, even though it doesn't really make sense since podracing was outlawed by the time the empire took over. It has some nice greebles and really looks like it has been put together from various machines in order to make it more and more efficient. The only thing missing is the imperial insignia somewhere on it, perhaps in front of the cockpit instead of those two grill tiles.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Still, nice work. By the way, I like your pauldron a little better than Moodswim's. It may look less "smooth", but it also looks less bulky.
-
Of course! I just mean that you've been especially productive lately, and these new micro scale scenes are extraordinary! Or perhaps I've only recently noticed how many MOCs you post since I started blogging them. I still like your MoodLand figs better because of their accuracy and posability. And as 3PO would say, you're perfectly welcome, sir.
-
Wow, MOODSWIM, you just keep churning out amazing MOCs lately! These look great; almost like toy robot versions of the characters!
-
Nice MoodLand fig! Good use of those minifig arms for the helmet.
-
Well, it's about time you posted this! I looks like you improved it since I last saw it, and it looks much cleaner now with all the tiling and stuff. All the play features are nice and overall it looks indeed like a Cloud City style playset. Nice work. It is a custom one. It's just based on the design of the official JSFs. I shall attempt to recreate Grievous' Lair myself one day... some day...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

I don't know, I kinda liked this episode. Sure, it didn't feel like SW at all, especially with all those fantasy elements (talking trees, fairies, magic plant transportation thingies, etc.), but I've gotten used to that in this show. I thought the Aleena were kinda cute, more so than Ewoks, and I just loved C-3PO in this episode. Plus the scenery was beautiful as usual. Just one question: How come the subterranean natives were able to speak Basic, while the surface dwellers couldn't? Or were we supposed to hear them the way 3PO does? -
[MOC] Tokyo International Underwater Circuit

Excellent entry, lisqr! The sub versions of the cars look great, and I love the brick-built base and background you made for the set! Brilliant idea and execution! Good luck! -
[MOC] Underwater Version of Alien Space Ship 30070
Oky replied to Ceroknight's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I do! Nice work, this sure made your entry more interesting, even though I don't quite understand the inclusion of half of RC. Could you provide a pic of the whole thing? It's hard to judge the entry as a whole from all these tight shots. Good luck in the contest! Sounds to me like Andy has been hanging out with his neighbour too much. -
I think that stormtrooper one is not really a funny and more photography, but either way, it's cute. Nice ones, the Penguin! I too love the third one! As promised, here are some more from me. The first one is a pic that I was originally going to take inside my Chancellor's Office MOC, but I realized that there wasn't enough space for it. Agen Kolar is played by Eeth Koth. This next one is kind of a groaner, but here you go anyway: This one isn't really Lego, but it's a parody of the 2012 box art.

I think an official press release is more reliable than some blog, so I'm sure they'll be out in January. I'm not saying BrickHeroes is lying; it could very well be that the country he lives in will get the sets later, but it would be a HUGE mistake on TLG's part if they wouldn't release the sets before Christmas, at least here in the US. Are you sure you're not trying to link to these pictures? As for the debate on where Harley and the Riddler will appear, I think there's still a possibility that they are in an exclusive set, unless they show up in the next DC wave. Same goes for Green Lantern.

[MOC] Underwater Version of 30070
Oky replied to Stardusty's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hehe, cute. Nice to see that you still managed to enter. Your entry does look more substantial than ceroknight's. I like how you've incorporated a little story to go along with it, and I love the use of the lime green flippers. But you're right, it doesn't make sense for the thrusters to still be active, so I'd exchange the translucent studs for gray ones or just remove them all together. Other than that, nice work. -
[MOC] Underwater Version of Alien Space Ship 30070
Oky replied to Ceroknight's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That would have been a great addition to this entry actually, to have an actual claw hang down from above, trying to fish the alien out! Maybe you could even have Buzz in a fishing boat up above. That would be awesome if you could add something like that before the contest closes! Yeah, I figured so. Just saying that it's theoretically possible. Well, considering that they're toys, they probably can... Come to think of it, shouldn't they be able to float? Oh well, doesn't look like this one would be able to, being buried in the sand like that, anyway.
