It was filmed after the world premiere. Not sure why they decided to include it at all, but at least we now know that Tony got his shawarma in the end.

WTF? "1x1 round slopes"? Doesn't he mean tiles? Anyway, great model. A huge improvement over the first one. Probably wont buy it though. That mini version is not bad, but it looks like it's carrying landmines on it's wings instead of the circle pattern. They really need to make a printed version of the 2x2 round tiles from the Pharaoh's Quest biplane.

Hehe, not bad, although not your best work either. My favorite would have to be the last one. I don't really get the first one though. And by the way, Deadpool's speech bubble should be yellow. Here are some new ones from me: Lightning Powers by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr As promised, here's another funny dealing with the lame parts usage in (licensed) sets: Diamonds are Lego's Best Friend by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here is the best scene from The Avengers recreated with minifigs! It's not a big spoiler, but just in case, I'll put it in spoiler tags: I could watch that all day!

Saw it twice this weekend, once regular and once in 3D, and it sure was a great entertaining movie! I might even see it a third time in IMAX if I can manage it. The Hulk scenes were definitely the best parts. The whole thing was just very well done, which makes me even more glad that we got Lego sets of this fantastic movie. You have some good points of course, but you have to keep in mind that this was all intentional since they had to please the fans. The fans wanted a fun flick about the Avengers kicking butt, and that's what they got. That's why the villains were taken down with such hilarious ease and were just generic aliens; to make the Avengers look good. If it makes you feel any better, Joss Whedon said that the sequel should be "smaller. More personal. More painful. By being the next thing that should happen to these characters, and not just a rehash of what seemed to work the first time. By having a theme that is completely fresh and organic to itself." So, it will be much different from the first one. Besides, the humor in this film wasn't nearly as overused as it is in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. Don't worry you didn't miss much. And if you mean , it's the one where Iron Man first meets Loki, Cap, and Widow in Germany.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Oky replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
No, it's about the Sith taking over, with the clones simply being their device for doing so. Darth Maul is one of the Sith. It kinda makes sense when you think about it, although it's not very clear from the show. And posting rant-like comments here isn't going to help anyone. If you hate it so much, don't watch it. -
No idea what theaters it's being given out at (none of the ones around me seem to have it), but here's a picture of the back of the poster that Rick over at FBTB posted: LEGO Avengers Promo Poster (Back) by Rick_3691, on Flickr

Sure! Any builds are welcome! No, because I didn't see it and you didn't post it here. I'll add it now.

Indeed. Here is the mosaic (picture is link to the mosaic website): Does anybody know when or where they will announce the winner of the Darth Maul raffle? If you're going to post this all over the place, at least spell it right.

Very nice update! It looks fairly accurate. The only thing I would maybe change is the blade guard. It should start as close to the tip as possible. Also, do you have this piece? It would make a perfect representation of the blade guard, unless you don't consider it a Technic part. If you don't have it or don't want to use it, your solution works too. Nice work.

Very cool. Like others have said, it looks very steampunkish while still being instantly recognizable. However, I think you overdid it a bit with the greebling. Most of it doesn't seem to serve any purpose and the wings just look cluttered with all that random stuff on them. I would get rid of some of it, especially if it keeps the wings from folding properly as you say. Other than that, great work!
-
Not bad. I like how you stuck to Technic parts and the fact that it's life sized. However, I can't help but feel that it mostly just looks like a stack of wheels and doesn't have much personality. Whose lightsaber is it supposed to be? If there was no source material, I suggest that you try to modify it to look like the lightsaber of one of the Jedi/Sith from AOTC. That way it will fit into the CB better and will have a distinct look. For example, you could add an angle to both ends of the hilt and add a Bionicle sword to the tip of it in order to have it represent Count Dooku's lightsaber.

Well, there goes my TDK theory. Oh well, this fig is also pretty interesting. Like all Visual Dictionary figs, the use for this one will be quite limited, but it could have been worse. The book itself looks pretty good too, so I'll definitely be getting this. Just to clarify: Is this the best picture of the fig that we have (the real fig, I mean, not the videogame render)? And yes, I too am hoping for a Marvel Dictionary! The polybags look pretty good. I was hoping for a mini-quinjet. Too bad they chose the two most common Avengers for the other two polybags, but oh well. I guess it will be good to have an extra Thor to fight the third Loki.

The Ultrabuilds are now available in the US and Canada. With all the summer set pics popping up, I was hoping we'd finally get to see the Spidey set, but I guess not. By the way, I think the new Batman cowl popping up might be a sign that the Batman in the Visual Dictionary might be a TDK version. Just use Superman's head. It's pretty much the same face.

Hehe, not bad. I still prefer the Mark Ecko one, though, since it's less colorful and more accurate. I was thinking of getting the toy helmet too, but it looks so oversized.
-
Yo dawg, Legostein herd you like star wars toys, so he put star wars toys into a star wars toy so yo can play with yo star wars toys while yo star wars toys play with star wars toys. Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, lovely MOC, Legostein! Great way to display your amazing micro ships (pun unintended)! I like how the building has that art deco Coruscant building style. Very creative work once again!

Yeah, thanks Gooker1. From FBTB: LEGO_SW_May4th2012_POSTCARD_041212.indd by fbtb, on Flickr LEGO_SW_May4th2012_POSTCARD_041212.indd by fbtb, on Flickr Me too. Who said that they wont be on sale? Yes, it should. That's what I've been saying throughout this thread. Not sure about the TIE promo, but I hope so.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Glad you like it. Indeed. We need more insect(oid) fighters! Do you mean Lego Battle Bugs? Yes, there are quite a few good ones in there. My Bumblebee should fit right in, thanks.

Very cool! I like how you used mechanics to simulate airbending on the training platform. The Mechanist would be proud. However, it would have been nice if it was actually circle shaped like in the show. The pro-bending arena is also pretty nice. I like the details on the ground, but not so much the jagged sides. I understand if you don't have enough wedge pieces to make it smooth, but there are other techniques you can use to make it less jagged. And I would use flex tubes for the railing. I might make a pro-bending arena myself some day. And yes, the Boxer's helmet is the first thing I thought of when thinking about recreating the players, but alas I only have one Boxer too, and I don't live in the UK, so I can't get the exclusive blue one coming out. Oh well, I guess I'll go with your solution. Mind setting up a mid-game action scene? Pabu is cute, even though he suffers from the same blockiness that all your creature MOCs have.

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. Hehe, thanks, but I'll leave my avatar as it is. Wouldn't want people to wet their pants everytime they see my posts. It's the Marc Ecko Fett For Real hoodie and as far as I know, it's only available through ebay for high prices nowadays. I got it as a birthday present, so I was lucky! Yes. It's a bit difficult since you are looking through a black net, but it's enough not to run into doors. You're right, they do feel a bit small in my hand, but it was more important to me to get accurate proportions than size. Well, to my defense, Boba did use them at some point.

This is my entry for Rook's Epic Spring Contest on CABG. Personally, I don't think that something like this fits into the Star Wars universe, so I figured I'd post it here. The B-65, nicknamed "Bumblebee", was an experimental fighter craft. With its extra large fuel tank and long anti-gravity wings, it was designed for long distance flight. Armed with two rapid fire front guns and a powerful, swiveling "Stinger" laser canon, it had some formidable firepower. It was renowned for it's loud humming engine. However, there were several design flaws, and with the introduction of more effective starfighters, it was soon phased out. It has a big detachable fuel tank in the back. The cockpit features a large windscreen to offer optimal view and has two communication antennae for the pilot to stay in touch with the rest of his squadron. The stinger is a large swivel turret. When landed, the body is aligned with the ground, the wings are retracted, and the legs spread out for maximum stability. In flight mode, the cockpit is tilted down to give the pilot a better view and the fuel tank is lowered. The wingspan of the B-65 is quite impressive. Here's a close up of the humming engine this fighter is known for. I hope you like it. Click any image to see a hi-res version on Flickr.

I'd love to see your rendition. Thanks! You mean the copper detail on the barrel? True, but are there any official stickers that would be suitable? I can't think of any, and I don't want to make my own.
-
Thanks. The wheel is connected to the large engine piece via its four studs and has one of these going through it. The smaller engine piece has a Techinc axle going through it which connects to that Technic pin in the wheel. It sure is!

Great to see so many participants again! If everyone who signed up so far enters at least one entry, we should be able to break the record of the last CB! I would just like to remind everyone to post a link to their entry here once it is posted so that I can index it and it doesn't get overlooked. Thanks. On that note, here's my first entry: Jango Fett's Blaster Pistols

As it is tradition, being the host of this CB, I shall enter a MOC of my own. And so, without further ado, here's my first entry, two life-size replicas of Jango Fett's WESTAR-34 blaster pistols! Jango Fett's Blaster Pistols by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Here's a reference image: This is what it looks like when they're held in hand. Sorry about the mixture of gray and bley, I couldn't find enough pieces in the same shade of gray. WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And here's me wielding those pistols like a badass! Don't move, Jedi! by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Comments and criticisms are welcome. And stay tuned for my next entry, which is going to be a bignette! What is it? Here's a small hint: It also involves Jango.
