  1. Good work, everybody! I always enjoy looking through the large number of high-quality entries in these contests! 15) Intergalactic Girl Entry (Build by MDolley) - 1 point 23) Mechanic Entry (Build by Darkblane) - 1 point 31) Sleepyhead Entry (Build by watersnap) - 1 point
  2. Those are some very cool shots, Hobbestimus! And no, you do not loose points. There might be some unofficial rules for building MOCs or making customs, but in photography the sky is the limit! Unless, you know, you want to launch your Lego into space and shoot a picture of it through your telescope. As long as you don't use MegaBloks, you should be fine.
  3. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the May the 4th page is now live, but it's just a teaser for now, so no info on any other promotions yet.
  4. Darn! So close and yet so far! The fact that it's Harry should be no surprise to anyone, but I was really hoping for this Deathly Hallows Harry: This looks very plain and disappointing, but at least it's more useful than Yule Ball Harry, I guess.
  5. Very true. I'll see if I can make a series out of this. Why not? Maybe because it's too similar to my Avengers of the Caribbean funny? Not bad though, you just need to work on your captions a little bit. It's not clear what you're making fun of from those two words. Thanks. The Avengers assemble whenever they are called into action, which in the Lego world means that they have to literally put themselves together. Cap got an alert from Nick Fury, so he already assembled himself before calling the other Avengers.
  6. I think so, although most purists prefer not to use any decals on their figs at all. By the way, I just thought of something. You could make a nice purist Nightwing using the new Robin's head and Snape's hair (or any black hair you think suits the character) on a plain black body with blue arms. Adding a torso decal for detail would be optional.
  7. Yeah, nice ones, guys! I'm glad Pengy and me aren't the only ones posting here anymore. And thanks for the compliments on the Disney's Avengers pic. Personally, I think those guys would make great Avengers, except maybe Mickey. As the release date of the Avengers draws closer, it's time for... Oky's Avengers Funnies: Super-lame Pun Edition! 8. Yes, Jaypercent's purist figs are pretty good, perhaps even the best. Here are some other examples from him: Gambit, Professor X & Rogue by jaypercent, on Flickr Omega Red, Bishop, Juggernaut, The Blob by jaypercent, on Flickr Lobo, Superman, Darkseid Custom LEGO Minifigs by jaypercent, on Flickr Custom LEGO Spiderman Villians by jaypercent, on Flickr He also made that Scott Summers K-Nut suggested, except with a Nightwing torso instead of Racer X's. Scott Summers by jaypercent, on Flickr EDIT: Oh, and I made Hal Jordan out of Green Goblin's body, Robin's head, and Mutt's hair once, as you can kinda see here: Green Lantern Mobile by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  9. Sorry. I put it in tags now, so please remove the quote from your post as well. Quoting the post right above yours is kinda pointless anyway.
  10. Broomstickjitzu = Best thing ever? Anyway, that's indeed a neat video, and the zombie set is looking pretty good. I like the post-apoc look of that truck and I'm glad it comes with Jack. His hammer should prove useful in fighting off those zombies!
  11. Are you talking about the Quinjet set or one that you will build yourself? Because the set is quite big and will be impossible to fit on a 32x32 baseplate (not tile).
  12. He didn't choose to contact Organa. He had to use an "emergency frequency" since he wasn't getting a contact from any other frequency. And I assume it was Organa who picked up the call since he knew what was going on and was therefore monitoring that frequency. As for their connection, Obi-Wan and Anakin were friends with Padme, and she was friends with Bail, so they must have known him too.
  13. Wow, very nice! Lots of great action and details here! I especially like the two tallest buildings that were not part of the original set as they are the most original and most detailed part of this. This is one of my favorite Arkham MOCs and I would totally buy it if it was a set! This needs to go on Cuusoo stat!
  14. Go! Watch it! Now! If you enjoy LoK, you'll love A:TLA! Plus you'll get a lot more of the references and stuff. True, but still, they might be continuing that tradition. We'll see, I guess. Yes, I think there is a body. As Tanma pointed out, Aang briefly died once and then was resurrected, so I guess he could be resurrected again, but it still wouldn't make sense to me. Good points, I agree. Yeah, it's usually like that.
  15. Some good points. I agree with all of them. What do you mean by advanced technology? If you ask me, the RR were much more advanced. They had lasers, hover technology, teleportation, and space travel.
  16. 1. Hm, you might be on to something there. But then again, there were lots of characters whose parents were killed by firebenders in A:TLA and they weren't related either, so maybe it's just an ongoing theme. 2. Sorry, but that's absolutely preposterous. There is only one Avatar, and Korra is the reincarnation of Aang. If they were to say that there are two now, it would contradict everything that was established about the Avatar in A:TLA. Amon being Aang wouldn't make any sense either since they're completely different persons. Besides, the way Amon takes away bending doesn't look like energy bending. I think he might just be a very advanced chi blocker. We don't even know if his bending-removing is truly permanent as he claims. It just might take longer to return. Speaking of LoK, does anybody else think that the characters are a bit too similar to the ones in A:TLA? Korra = Katara + Aang's powers + Toph's temper Mako = Zuko (he even kinda sounds like him and he was named after the voice actor of his uncle) Bolin = Sokka Naga = Appa (even similar names) Pabu = Momo
  17. Not sure why everyone's posting in spoilers, but anyway: You know, it's funny; ever since I started watching this show I have become aware just how many characters Tara Strong voices! It feels like I hear her whatever cartoon I watch! In one of the recent episodes of Green Lantern, she voiced a purple-haired princess, and I kept thinking that Hal Jordan was talking to Twilight! Is anybody else watching Ultimate Spider-Man (which also features Tara Strong by the way)? I kinda like it; the animation is pretty good and some of the jokes are funny, but it feels like they're putting too much emphasis on the jokes. Anybody agree?
  18. I managed to enter both categories on time for once! Let me know what you think. My idea for category B is similar to Kumpelkante's, but I didn't steal it. I had already started working on it when he posted his, so no hard feelings I hope.
  19. Outpost Raid Minifig Series 6: Intergalactic Girl Minifig Series 3: Space Villain, Space Alien Minifig Series 1: Spaceman, Robot Theme: Space Architecture: Space Outpost The Intergalactic Girl always wanted to explore the universe and go on space adventures, but she got stuck guarding a remote outpost on a bare planet. I guess she should have been careful what she wished for because one day the notorious Space Villain and his merciless crew of space pirates came to raid the outpost! Can she fend off the scum together with her Spaceman friends? Outpost Raid - back by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr The outpost is an example of quality space architecture. It is designed to be very sturdy and efficient. The hangar bay doors are nearly impenetrable and can only be opened with the correct access codes. That's why the space pirates are infiltrating the facility through an emergency hatch on the roof. Outpost Raid - front by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Inside the storage room of the outpost, a fierce battle between heroes and villains ensues while a defenseless maintenance robot watches in terror! Outpost Raid - interior by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr In the hangar below, a Spaceman is landing in his Lite-class Vic Viper, unaware of the danger that awaits above. 20. Very good, thanks! The only thing I'd still change is to put "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" under "Next Community Build", then it will be perfect. Or you can just get rid of the "Next CB" line.
  21. Something tells me you guys liked the Iron Chef one. Thanks! And yes, you could actually put the hat on the helmet, but I thought it made more sense this way. Funny, I had the same idea the other day! Either its an obvious one or great minds just think alike. 22. Sorry, but I meant the first post of the General CB Discussion Thread. Unlike the first post of this thread, I can't edit it, so if you don't mind doing the same thing there, it would be much appreciated.
  23. I disagree. They're pretty spot-on, but could be more armored Since they're missing the leg protection. Good to finally have a name for them. A quick google search reveals that Chitauri are an alternate version of the Skrulls, so I guess assuming that they were Skrulls wasn't all that wrong.
  24. Thanks, and no. Fixed it now.
  25. Actually, Iron Man with his melon head and thrusters is much taller than him, as is Loki with his horns, and that's just silly. That's why I prefer the first Hulk too, although this Hulk can be useful for certain situations as well as others have pointed out.
