  1. Light bluish grey is far closer to the actual colour, and more visually interesting than white IMO. There’s lots of great MOCs out there using that colour scheme, and if it’s combined with the dark tan, dark red, and maybe a little bit of dark bluish grey or sand blue pieces it can look good. If we were talking about a ship that’s supposed to be polished, like an ARC-170 or a Republic Y-Wing I might be inclined to agree about the white, but the rebel X-Wings are supposed to look beat up and dirty. Granted I never buy oversized UCS sets anyways, so this was never something I was going to be interested in.
  2. The entire X-Wing is grey. Having a white nose just makes the colour difference more pronounced. (To be fair, I was also originally looking at the establishing shot added in the Special Editions, where the noses are a bit darker than the rest of the body. Although in the trench they do appear to be the same shade of grey as the rest of the body.)
  3. The white nose looks ridiculous. As does R2. Honestly this is a pretty brutal build for a UCS set. Lego has gaslit millions of children into thinking Obi-Wan is a redhead and OT X-Wings are white.
  4. It doesn’t say that they’re early releases, like other products in the article are, although it’s possible the person writing the article just made a mistake. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-celebration-europe-2023-exclusives
  5. According to starwars.com, the ROTJ Brickheadz set is a Celebration exclusive, which makes sense. That amount of Brickheadz in one set probably wouldn’t sell well normally. (Don’t know if this has been posted before, but it’s news to me.)
  6. I know that, but it’s a reference book, and Filoni is fine completely overwriting actual novels for no reason. The amount of clones they said there were in a reference book had no actual bearing on the show itself, nor did the reference book have a finished show to base itself off of.
  7. The 144 number is from a reference book from before anyone knew Clone Wars Season 7 was happening. Although regardless, we can see from the hangar in Victory and Death that there’s quite a few plain white clones (and ones with normal 501st markings) in the 332nd, so not all of them have Ahsoka’s face on their mask. There were 40 clones + Rex who were there to meet Ahsoka to show her the helmets. There were around 80-90 clones (of various designs) in the hangar in Victory and Death, and we can assume that a bunch died on Mandalore and on the Venator. So my guess would be there’s more than 144 who went to Mandalore (including pilots & technicians on the Venator) but probably less than 144 with the Ahsoka masks. Edit: Although I guess since they did have enough clones to crew a Venator as well as fight the Mandalorians, 144 probably could be reasonable for the amount of clones with Ahsoka helmets.
  8. What’s the deal with the Holiday Special Diorama? Did I miss something?
  9. Nothing’s wrong with the minifig selection per se, it’s just not a draw at all, since almost everyone has a Din at this point, and a TIE Pilot and Astromech Droid aren’t particularly interesting figures. 4 figures for $130 just isn’t great, especially when we have sets like Bib Fortuna’s Throne Room with 7 interesting figures including multiple new moulds, for the same price.
  10. Not the worst thing in the world, given that it doesn't come with a minifigure. Although obviously anything minifigure-related would be way better.
  11. Dang, Luke in his yellow jacket is a huge W. Very useful for lots of comics appearances.
  12. For you maybe. For me it’s not even close, because I can’t stand the current clone design, and wasn’t too interested in clones in the first place.
  13. I’d like to complain that Lego doesn’t care about the non-Clone based prequel content. I’m still out in the desert looking for a Shmi Skywalker, Boss Nass, Dexter Jettster, and ROTS Padmé. And it’s been forever since we got a Count Dooku or an AOTC Anakin.
  14. You’re only looking at this from someone who’s only a fan of the Clone Wars POV. The mechs still exist, there have been ridiculous prices across the board, and the quality of minifigures has been just brutal at times. Plus we still have no idea what most of the sets look like.
  15. Happy international autism day! And sorry for doubting you on the reality of the rumours, lol. Guess I’ve become a little more cynical over the years of annoying April Fool’s “jokes”.
  16. Here’s hoping that the Gunship and/or Ghost are available for preorder by May so that I can use them to get the May the 4th promo. (It’s very unlikely, but since the Spider Droid is already available, I’m holding out a little bit of hope.) True. I really would’ve liked Zeb in his Rebels outfit though, since I missed out on the first and only one so far. (I am extremely excited for Jacen and Quarries figures though.)
  17. Interceptor vs. Fang Fighter looks good build-wise, although the minifigs aren’t really interesting at all. I’d probably rather pick up the TIE Bomber and the Snub Fighter for the same price.
  18. True. Yeah, maybe it’s Ketsu then. If it’s based on Rebels it sucks that it doesn’t include Zeb or Kanan though.
  19. Turns out the Swamp Speeder might just be a ridiculously expensive battlepack, considering the 4 clones and low piece count. Not great.
  20. Well that’s weird. I have no interest in the Swamp Speeder or Venator. It’ll be cool to see Young Yularen in Lego, even if he’s going to be ridiculously expensive on the secondary market. They have to release a Rex next year or it’ll be very bad. Ghost is obviously an instant buy. I’m not particularly into the Gunship, but a good Palpatine & Padmé might be enough to sway me. I mean it could just be a new character from the Ahsoka show that hasn’t been revealed yet.
  21. Can people please stop making spoilery speculations about a show that isn’t even close to coming out yet? Especially when you’re talking about the contents of an April Fool’s day set. At least make everything spoilered when you’re replying to a spoilery prompt. Assuming you’re talking about the reel from last year’s Star Wars celebration, I’m pretty sure they had just started filming the show a few weeks before. So any clips the people at celebration would’ve seen would have been hastily put together clips from the very little amount of show they already had shot.
  22. I’d pay $1000 for a Ghost. It’s a great ship, and a lot more visually interesting than the Falcon. I would hope a playscale version would have to be at least the same size as the playscale Falcon though. Edit: I agree I’d want better figures though.
  23. The set “rumours” are an April Fool’s joke.
  24. Run through Google translate obviously, but they literally say: “We do not yet have any information about the exact appearance of the gunship and possibly other small side builds, but we can already tell you which figures will probably be included.” Like how can you think that’s real?
  25. Lego releasing Rex only in a $650 UCS set would be the most ridiculous thing ever. It’s obviously fake people.
