  1. I really, really hope that’s the case. Because an undersized display version of the Sail Barge would really hurt, since it means we wouldn’t get a minifig scale version for a really long time, if ever.
  2. Judging by the fact that the goat mould in the one photo is in a placeholder colour, Barad-Dûr is still likely a while away before it could release. To be fair Lego prices have gone up so quickly recently that nearly every set seems overpriced now.
  3. Wow, that leaked image is… very disappointing. I was hoping for a minifig scale set (à la the UCS Falcon, AT-AT, or Mos Eisley Cantina) with minifigures. This looks like a play scale one with no figs on a stand.
  4. No other Star Wars stuff. Disney, LOTR, and a couple other ones.
  5. I mean it has to be real now. There’s no way someone faked that. Wow, Barad-Dûr looks amazing. These Lego designers are too good. Also copyright 2023, so it’s probably coming later this year. Or maybe not? The set looks amazing, but I might have to pass on it, since I can’t afford to buy everything, lol. I’m assuming you mean micro-scale, since a minifig scale Barad-Dûr would be 60 metres tall. It’s definitely a great size, and they could fit in a few interior scenes if they wanted to do what they did with Orthanc. (Although obviously we’ve never actually seen a scene set inside Barad-Dûr)
  6. I’d also guess it’s Arwen, but you can barely see the fig, so it’s hard to tell.
  7. True. Although those ones I’m sure aren’t characters since they’re all grey. And I’m guessing we’ll probably get another statue with the shards of Narsil around the back of the set.
  8. So from what I can tell, from left to right, we have: Merry Sam Pippin Boromir Aragorn Elrond Frodo Gandalf Bilbo Legolas Gimli Gloin Figure Reading Book Blonde Elf Brown-Haired Elf So at least 15 figures, although that book reading figure might be a statue or something else. I don’t know if we’re allowed to mention it on the forums, but I can message you directly.
  9. I didn’t notice that, but you’re definitely right. Looks like Gimli & Gloin. Those axes are awesome.
  10. It seems like Elrond is already at the meeting, and there’s 2 other figures there (I’m assuming Boromir and Aragorn).
  11. Well it’s obviously blurry, but aside from the Fellowship + Arwen and Elrond, who seem like givens, it seems like we’ll be getting at least one extra figure, since there appear to be 2 blonde elves in the photo. (One presumably being Legolas) It also looks like the elves might have new hair moulds with hair at the front. I can make out Frodo, Merry, and Pippin to the left. Gimli on the bridge. Legolas appears to be to Gimli’s left, with dual moulded legs. Gandalf is closer to the meeting area, with maybe Bilbo in between him and Legolas? Actually judging by their position I’m guessing that’s not Frodo, and it’s Sam but he just has a darker hair colour than he did in the original run. (Since the 3 eavesdropping hobbits are probably together)
  12. I’m not assuming anything, but a UCS Sail Barge would be my most wanted Star Wars set ever. Between this potentially being a thing and the Lego Rivendell, my wallet is very worried right now.
  13. Now that’s just unrealistic. Everyone knows that we’re getting a buildable Daultay Dofine, with special “Stunted Slime” action.
  14. There’s no chance we’d get this far along if it wasn’t real. D2Cs often leak only days before the planned reveal, so we might be waiting up to a month longer to see it.
  15. Even if Rivendell shows up in season 2, which I doubt it will, there’s no way Lego would have a set based off of episodes of a show that likely wouldn’t release until around a year after the set releases. Plus more importantly, Lego‘s deal is with Warner Brothers, not Amazon. If they wanted to include Rings of Power characters in the Rivendell set they’d need to reach an agreement with both companies, making things tremendously complicated and cutting into Lego’s profits all over a couple unnecessary minifigures I would absolutely love Rings of Power sets, but they’re likely never coming, and being included in this upcoming Rivendell set definitely ain’t it.
  16. If they were doing a micro-scale set, I don’t see why they’d do Rivendell. Micro-scale works well for iconic shapes of buildings, like Hogwarts. Or for LOTR examples, something like Helm’s Deep, Minas Tirith, Orthanc, or Barad-Dûr. It doesn’t work for locations built into valleys that don’t have a distinctive/recognizable shape. Rivendell is a village in a valley with cliffs and waterfalls, and the shape of Rivendell isn’t iconic. Although in that way it works perfectly as a Master Builder Series type set, since there isn’t the expectation for it to look 1:1 to the movie, but there’s still a lot of stuff that can be included and some room for creativity to make a good looking set.
  17. Assuming they don’t leak beforehand, I’m assuming they’ll be revealed on one of the Tuesday merch announcements starwars.com has been doing for the last while. So maybe we’ll get one or more sets revealed on December 6th. https://www.starwars.com/news/category/collecting 100%. Definitely my favourite brickheadz so far.
  18. I’m extremely pumped that it’s Rivendell, that would’ve been my first choice for a LOTR D2C set. However my wallet as a student is very much not happy that it’s releasing so soon.
  19. I agree about us not likely getting UCS sets based on stuff other than the movies. The only one I think is possible might be the Ghost, if it has a big presence in the Ahsoka series. (Although I guess the Ghost technically was in a movie, but that’s obviously not where it’s most prominent) I think we’ll end up getting a Fondor playset for Andor, and that’s it, at least for Season 1. The Book of Boba Fett still hasn’t really gotten a set of its own, and that show translates to Lego sets way more than Andor does.
  20. You realize that Andor is getting a 2nd season and that’s it regardless, right? Buy the set if you want it, but you aren’t supporting anything other than Lego & Disney’s pocketbooks, and they really aren’t in need of the extra money.
  21. Not the specific designs/characters created for the show/movies. Like someone like Arondir wouldn’t be within the overall Tolkien rights, because he was created by Amazon. (Or someone like Tauriel, because she was created by Warner Brothers) Also Middle Earth Enterprises wouldn’t have the rights to the likenesses of the actors in the movies/show.
  22. Yeah, if Lego is going back for sets based on Disney+ shows they’d be much more likely to do The Book of Boba Fett or Obi-Wan Kenobi sets than Andor. That’s because the show isn’t very visually appealing, and wouldn’t make good Lego sets. Plus Andor isn’t a show that children would watch, so that takes a large chunk of Lego’s market out right there.
  23. Hobbits are already too tall with the short legs. Mid legs wouldn’t help. The Rings of Power CMF series seems unlikely to me, since then they’d have 2 competing licenses from different companies for the same brand (Warner Brothers & Amazon). Plus, as far as I’m aware, Amazon has released no merchandise whatsoever for the Rings of Power so they clearly either dropped the ball hard on that, or don’t plan to release/license any in the future. Although it could be that Amazon isn’t allowed to license any merchandise, due to the very complicated Tolkien rights situation.
  24. It’s been 8 years since Lego released a LOTR/Hobbit set. The market that was both old enough and had enough disposable income to get every single set back then is extremely small. Most people who collected back then will have either aged out of it, or didn’t get all of the sets because they were a child with no money of their own. (Like myself) Lego can’t and won’t be thinking about people who have every single set as a target market for making LOTR sets now. The target market will be the new group of kids growing up now, people who were too young to get the sets back in 2012-2014, and adult LOTR collectors. The market of people who got every single set back in the early 2010s and also might not buy new sets because they already have the build or minifigures is so extremely small that there’s no way Lego would consider them. You realize the post you’re quoting is a joke, right?
  25. It’s the World Map, which is $250 USD with 11,695 pieces. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/world-map-31203 And that sounds like a great idea, but it’s definitely not the D2C set, and would probably have too many issues with people arguing that Lego is copying the Lego Ideas set from last year without giving the designer credit or a portion of profit.
