LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Qui-Gon says that to Anakin immediately before the podrace, so it basically happens in the same scene. “Now THIS is podracing!” doesn’t happen until the Battle of Naboo when Anakin is flying the N1. -

It’s a good line, but it also doesn’t happen in the scene the set is depicting, so I can’t imagine they’d choose that. -

The leak was also a preliminary image, so the build has potentially been updated since then. That said, I do think it being brick built would make much more sense and look a lot better for the eye atop Barad-dûr. -

If it’s a buildable creature UCS-style set like I assume, 0%. I guess it’s possible it’s a play set along the lines of the Rathtar Escape set, but I feel like it would’ve been described differently if that were the case. -

Hmm, I guess it makes sense to make the human-like species’s lifespans longer so you can use them in more stories, like they did with Weequays and Hondo. Looking at Wookieepedia, the latest in the High Republic that the Vectors appear is 229 BBY so far, although there apparently are still a small number of functional Vectors at the Jedi Temple in 41 BBY when Obi-Wan is a padawan. So definitely possible to show up 97 years later in the Acolyte, but probably not too likely. -

(Not a spoiler for the show, since this is info announced last Star Wars Celebration, but I’ll spoiler it anyways.) -

I wouldn’t really call him a Rebel. (I mean he sort of is, but that’s not the meaning that would be used in a Star Wars context) -

As someone who is a big fan of the Book of Boba Fett, and likes the Mod bikers, I completely agree. There’s like a dozen characters just in BOBF that would be better options. -

Not very well. Going off of the lengths on Wookieepedia, the T-65B X-wing is around 39% of the length of the Falcon, but looking at images, the X-wing comes in at around 7 studs while the Falcon comes in at around 28 studs long. So the Falcon is definitely oversized compared to the Trench Run Diorama. -

Given the fact that filming wrapped last June, there’s no way it doesn’t come out this year. I really, really want lots of Acolyte sets, but I’m not getting my hopes up too high considering the amount that Andor and the Book of Boba Fett got. -

I probably would, but that’s because I’m way too into Jabba’s Palace & the surrounding stuff. I wouldn’t feel good about it though. I don’t want to spoil anything else about the show for myself, so please don’t respond to this post with the answer, but I really hope the character canonizes 2-limbed Ortolans as was originally intended rather than the 4-limbed boring ones. -

God, I really, really hope. But assuming it’s a different image from the one that leaked last year, the fact they went forward with that idea certainly doesn’t bode well for getting a Barge with an interior. -

Pain. Such an awful decision. I assume the figs are Jabba and Leia? (Or maybe Crumb or Bib Fortuna if they don’t want to include Leia) -

We have already gotten both Weequays that were on the skiffs in Pagetti Rook (from the 2013 Barge) and Rintel Aren (from the last Skiff set). So it’ll probably have new prints, but not be a new character. -

Nooooooooooooooooo! Well that sucks. I guess I’m glad I can use my figs from the 2012/2013 Jabba sets to populate it, but I was really hoping for a minifig heavy MBS-style set. -

I don’t see a lot of people talking about it, but given the piece count and the price the Escape from the Sarlacc almost definitely includes both skiffs and the sarlacc (since it’s over double the pieces and 3x the price of the previous skiff set) I’m unbelievably excited for this set, and especially the Khetanna. I’m also excited the sets are separate because it means there’s an opportunity for more figs to come with the Barge. I really, really hope we end up more on the Cantina or Rivendell end of figure scale rather than the Razor Crest or UCS Falcon. Assuming they won’t include duplicates from the skiff set, givens for the Barge would be Jabba, Leia, Luke, Salacious B. Crumb, Bib Fortuna, Max Rebo, C-3PO, and R2-D2. For the others, Tessek is an obvious inclusion because of the new Quarren mould. They’ll probably throw in a Gamorrean or two. They can probably bring back the old Ree-Yees mould. There’ll definitely be a couple Niktos, with Vizam specifically being a pretty good lock since he’s the one who manned one of the deck blasters. They could include a Weequay or Klatooinian, although none of them actually appear on the Barge. Bossk would obviously be an easy inclusion. And for other figures they could make using normal minifig heads, there’s any of the various human guards, there’s Mosep Binneed, Yoxgit, Geezum, a Jawa, or an astromech droid. And I know they’re a stretch because they require new moulds, but I would really really love a Saelt-Marae, J’Quille, and/or an Ishi Tib. Saelt-Marae definitely seems most likely of the three, since people have heard of Yak Face more than J’Quille. They could also include Sy Snootles and/or Droopy McCool, even though we never actually see them on the barge in the movie, although both would need new moulds. If we assume 16 figs is reasonable, my best guess for the inclusions would be: Jabba, Leia, Luke, R2-D2, C-3PO, Bib Fortuna, Salacious B. Crumb, Max Rebo, Tessek, Gamorrean x2, Vizam, a Green Nikto, Ree-Yees, and Saelt-Marae. Which would only be 1 new mould and 9 returning moulds from 2013 (Leia’s hair, Gran Head, Ortolan Head, Fortuna’s headtails, Salacious, and 4 for Jabba + a new Yarkora head mould) (Also, here’s to hoping that the two unknown skiff figures are Barada and Pote Snitkin, as we’ve already gotten Kithaba, Pagetti Rook, and Rintel Aren in the past. I definitely wouldn’t complain about getting Brock Starsher or Yotts Oren though. Pote Snitkin would be nice because we’ve never gotten a Skrilling before. Although I’d say that one of Kithaba or Barada are almost certainly a lock so they can re-use the bandanna mould they created for Vane in the Snub Fighter.) -

Are we getting a Lego Darth Jar Jar??? What is happening? Next year’s sets are absolutely insane and I’m very much here for it. (I would like more TPM sets though) -

I’m not exactly sure how Lego keeps their old moulds, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they use the same one they did back in 2013, as they brought back the Gamorrean mould recently after a similar time gap. Especially since there’s really no way to improve on the mould. (But I agree, I don’t trust the leak at all.) -

I think I give up lol. Some of this information has to be wrong or exaggerated, because no character fits every descriptor. I’ll be very interested in seeing who it ends up being and which of the hints might have been misleading. Or maybe I’m wrong and there’s someone I haven’t thought of who fits everything we know perfectly. I sincerely doubt it though. Funnily enough, Jedi Bob does fit most of these, but he doesn’t exist in the larger Star Wars community, so it can’t be him. -

But you could definitely argue any Jedi is peaceful by nature. But there’s very few prominent live action human Jedi we’ve never gotten in Lego. The only notable ones would probably be Depa Billaba & Jocasta Nu. After that you get into Cin Drallig, Bultar Swan, or Liam territory. Who are just way too obscure to be special characters.
