  1. Imagninarium of Doctor Parnassus?
  2. Have any of you seen the Starz Show Black Sails? It takes place before Treasure Island as kind of a prequel. Not the most child friendly show, but good nonetheless.
  3. You are correct!
  4. Very nice! I'm torn between getting either this Imperial Flagship, or the Renegade Runner next. The RR is is cheaper, but less common, while the IF is more available, but costs more. I guess it all just comes down to which set I can find a deal on when I'm ready to purchase.
  5. Picked these two bad boys up in the past week. #6274 Caribbean Clipper off eBay for $75 shipped, and 6285 Black Seas Barracuda for $50 off a friend of mine who was getting rid of his Lego collection. Both were 99% complete, with boxes and instructions, and I already Bricklinked the few parts I was missing. Pretty awesome to finally get the sets you dreamed of as a kid....even if it is 20 years late lol.
  6. Nope! Another hint....the film is in English, and features 4 main English actors, but was mostly filmed and produced in another (non-English speaking) European country.
  7. Here's a few I took of the BSB and Caribbean Clipper together. Governor Broadside enlisted the help of the new Bluecoats to help man the ship to give it a fighting chance against the larger ship of Captain Redbeard and his augmented crew of scaliwags.
  8. I own 4563 and love it, but always wanted 4564 too.
  9. The first time I watched Looper, I didn't particularly like it, even thought it got good reviews. Then I saw it again, and really changed my mind. The 2nd time I caught more details, and really appreciated it more.
  10. Still nope! A little hint, its not a US film.
  11. Here she is in all her glory......my newly acquired Black Seas Barracuda. 99% complete, with box and instructions too. She's super dusty, but I'll be cleaning her up over the next couple days.
  12. Ok here we go!
  13. Finally built both of my new Bluecoat sets. And these arrived today as well..... Finally picked up my first ship....I feel like I'm 10 again. Should be getting my BSB this weekend too!
  14. Today was a good day. Sold a decent amount of my space sets, so I was on the prowl on eBay for some deals on some smaller pirate sets. Picked up 6254 Rocky Reef for $10. Was gonna pull the trigger on Sabre Island and Lagoon Lockup as well, when I found a Caribbean Clipper complete with the box just listed this afternoon as a Buy It Now for $75. Hopped on that instead. Should have both sets by next Thursday.
  15. Just got out from Mad Max......all I can say is "WOW" George Miller just created a masterpiece of an action movie. It will probably be a long time before anything comes close.
  16. Ok.....here ya go!
  17. That would be "The Marseilles Contract"
  18. Yup...the BSB was the dream ship when I was younger. I still have a few of the old catalogs that came with my other pirate sets, I used to look at every day, abd wish I had a ship. Yessir! I had the whole Ice Planet series and a good amount of Spyrius sets. They really don't hold the same sentimental value as my pirate or classic Star Wars sets. I'll make sure to post up when I finally get my hands on the ship.
  19. Yep! Finally getting a pirate ship...even if it is 20 years late hahaha. I'm on a quest to acquire all of the old ships....I'm even selling most of my space sets to fund it lol. It's a pirates life for me!
  20. Just picked this set up tonight.....first pirate's set I've purchased in 20 years (the last sets I bought were Islanders back in 1995!) I wasn't going to even buy it, but I went to a Toy/Comic/Card trade show local to me and got it for $20. For $10 off I couldn't pass it up. Will probably go back again and grab the other 3 sets with that discounted price. My impression so far, after building it, is its not a bad set. But its not "great" either. Some cool playability features I like, and some that could be done better. I do like the new brick colors however and how much more realistic they are (the classic yellow/white scheme still has a special place in my heart though). I do love the new minifigs though. As good and classic as the old pirates were, its nice to see a variety of facial expressions and full printed torsos. Overall, a decent set. I will probably like it more when I get the Soldier's Outpost and combine them.
  21. Picked up my first Pirate set in 20 years......the new 70412 Soldier's Fort. Went to a local Toy/Comic/Card Trade show, and picked it up for $20 instead of the usual $30. The last sets I got were in 1995 when I bought a couple Islanders sets on clearance from KB Toys lol. Oh, and later this month, I may just be getting my hands on a Black Seas Barracuda from a friend.
  22. My jaw literally dropped to my chest when I opened this thread. Well done sir, well done.
