that really is a simple, yet effective bow design. And its made from probably the most common Lego brick. I can't wait to see what technique you use for the stern. Good luck with the rest of the ship!

Thanks! I know the top of the ribs are too straight....I won't shape them until I get the rear ribs finished, so then I can get a realistic taper going.. I've mostly been focused on getting the shape of the lower hull how I want it so far. I'm also messing around with a couple of different methods to plank the outside of the hull. Hopefully more updates tonight or tomorrow.

Hey guys, a little update for you. I haven't had free time until this weekend to work on the Achilles, but I got to do a little work today. I pretty much finished all of the ribbing up front and got it shaped pretty well, except for the bow. I'll be working on the rear next. I also ordered a couple books on sailing ships from the library, so I can make an accurate deck plan.

Its been a long week for the Pirates.......the Islanders have laid siege to them, and plan on starving them out. its looks like the dead pirate wasn't so lucky..... the secret upper entrance into the cave Will the Pirates succeed in driving off the islanders? Or will they die trying? To be continued......

ok....sorry I came across that way. I had just woken up, and I'm feeling sick, so I wasn't in the best of moods this morning Here is what think. To me (personal opinion), the water is a bit distracting, and draws my eyes away from the cabin, and minifigs. I understand you are trying to give the water texture, instead of just making it flat. I think the blue base clashes with the clear too much. Maybe if you could use blue-clear pieces (if they make them) it might blend a bit better. So I guess I'm saying I like the technique, its just the color that clashes too much for me. Otherwise, I love the rest of the MOC, especially the rock structure that the house sits on. Keep up the good work! and can we still be friends matey?

Like 2maxwell said, I'm not that big of a fan of your water technique, but its your MOC not mine! Other than that, I like everything else about it!

Hey EB, I wanted to start a thread that has anything to do with aviation, planes, etc. So if you have a Pilots's license, or just like aviation, post your favorite plane, planes that you've flown in, weird aircraft, etc. So I'll start it off with some of the planes I have flown in. Cessna 150D - the plane I trained in Douglas DC-3 "Rose" - a family friend knew the owner, and hooked me and a few friends up for a ride Vans RV-6A (not actual plane) - probably the most exciting plane I've flown in. pretty fast, and very agile, yet easy to fly (2 fingers!) Luscombe Silvaire LSA-8 - During the summer of 2008, while still in high school, I had the opportunity to have a summer job at Luscombe Silvaire Aircraft Company located on Flabob Airport in Riverside CA. That summer, I got to travel with the company to Airventure Oshkosh in Wisconsin. On the way back, i got to fly the company aircraft from Wisconsin to Kansas. While on the same trip, my boss was able to hook up me and my co-worker with a free ride in a 1931 New Standard Biplane. Riding along with us was an aviation photographer who was taking pics of a Waco biplane that was flying with us. thats all of the notable planes I've flown in so far. now its time to hear your stories! P.S. I searched for a similar thread, but did not find any.....so Mods, if there is one, feel free to merge it

Its a nice quiet Sunday on Desolation Island......the stronghold is complete, and Captain Corweena is not due to arrive for another week. The officers are plotting the island's coordinates, and the crew is relaxing. Little did Johnny pirate know what awaited him though..... the pirates seem to have the upper hand..... until.....more islanders arrive in a catamaran! they barely made it in! More to come soon!

I like what you've done. The MOC has a classic futuristic feel to it. And Ice Planet 2002 is my favorite space theme....(I own the whole collection )
