Regardless of my opinion of the Oleananders, there is no denying they can build a beautiful ship!

The Black Wolf Company has chartered its first trading vessel, the Nymeria. Originally the Drunken Wench, one of Redbeard's "Renegade" class rum-runners, she was recently won in a wager from her (very drunk) captain. She has was stripped of most of her armament, lightened, and refitted for transport. She is Captained by Tobias Barlowe, an ex-Corrie naval officer, and former classmate of Ragnarrson in their youth. The Nymeria is a small, single masted sloop. She relies on her speed and agility to outrun any vessel who gives chase. To make way for more cargo, Barlowe stripped all of her heavy guns out, leaving just a few rail mounted muskets as a last defense. She is crewed by Barlow, his wife, and two able seamen.

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Corweena replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank ye, gentlemen! I'm happy with my torso selection as well....I wanted something a bit different being as my character hails from a northern land. I look forward to future run-ins and altercations with all you Imperials. May your gods have mercy on your souls! And to my fellow Sea Rats, it will be a pleasure fighting alongside you. I've also heard tale of a Secret Sea Rat discussion, how does one get added to it? -
22 May 620AE Location: The Rock After many months at sea, Commander Corwin Ragnarrson of the Black Wolf Company has landed on The Rock in the the Prio Sea. Taking advantage of the caves and tunnels that litter the island, the group has offloaded and stashed their supplies and chests of coin away from prying eyes, until suitable lodging can be sourced. A scouting mission revealed a small town to the north situated on a tiny island (Sereen Cay), which is where they are headed next. (Just a wee little build to kick off my BoBS journey. Took a break from my other builds to throw this together and start to set the narrative for the future plans). A Brief History of Corwin Ragnarrson and the Black Wolf: Little is known of these new arrivals, other than they hail from far shores across the Great Northern Sea, from the land of Vikendia. Stories tell the Vikendi were a great nation of warriors, raiders, and explorers in centuries past. However, since the fall of the Great Empire, the Vikendi were rarely were seen through the rest of Halos, short of a few traders, adventurers, and wanderers. The Black Wolf name is taken from the Amarok (Wolf) tribe of Vikendi to whom many expedition members belong. The Amarok worship the giant wolf god Fenris, who legend tells, led the ancestors of the Amarok out of the barren icy plains of Vikendia, to a small fertile penninsula, which they still occupy to this day. Officlal Black Wolf Expeditionary Group flag. Design may vary between military and civilian uses. Colors are black and yellow. Commander Corwin Ragnarrson is a man shrouded in mystery. Even his own men know only bits and pieces of his story. It is known he is of mixed Vikendi and Olean blood. His father, Ragnar, was a Vikendi trader who traveled to Eastern Halos. His mother Patricia, was the daughter of a prominent Olean Navy Captain. They fell in love, eloped to the countryside and not long after Corwin was born. When he was a young boy, both his parents died, and while he never speaks on it, many have concluded their deaths were at the hands of agents of the Order of The Faith, as Ragnarrson possesses a deep hatred of those who practice The Faith, and anyone who supports tyrannical Monarchies. After his parents death, young Corwin escaped to Corrington, where he was taken in by a compassionate merchant, and raised and received an education. As a young man, Ragnarrson one day disappeared from Corrington, and spent the next years wandering Halos before finally returning to Vikendia, and the Amarok. Now, years later, he has returned south again, to stake a claim for the Amarok in the new world....and possibly settle some old scores.

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Corweena replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Sea Rats, lend your ears! A new member and ally has entered the seas. Be ye Introduced to Corwin Ragnarrson, Commander of the Black Wolf Expeditionary Group. Arriving from the uncharted lands above the Great Northern Sea, Ragnarrson and the Black Wolf Company aim to establish a economic and military foothold in Terra Nova. Also, as with all scoundrels, scalliwags, and pirates, one should expect them to raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer their weasley black guts out. Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. Men like them thrive on chaos. The Black Wolf has come, and it is HUNGRY. -

Thank ye, gentlemen. I figured I could start anywhere. I already have the place in mind, I just wanted to confirm. I've been gearing up for this for a few weeks now, its just killing me that I have to wait on 2 pieces for my main character to get going. I will keep planning and preparing for future endeavors in the meantime! -

To the fine members (and Scoundrels!) of the Sea Rat Faction, I will be introducing my character shortly. I'm just waiting on a (MUCH DELAYED, thanks Pandemic) Bricklink order with a few necessary character pieces. I already have an introductory MOC/freebuild and introduction completed and ready to go, for when my last order arrives. In the meantime, I've been reading (a lot) and just trying to understand as much of the game as possible before I get going. One small question I had....when joining the game, can my character start at whatever Sea Rat port/property he wishes? My first order of business will be to build a small property to take advantage of my 1 free license. So for my introductory MOC, I'd like to set the story in the same location as where I want to build that property. Figured I'd ask here, since the factions all seem to have their own unique rules, etc. I don't remember reading anything which said you must start in a certain point, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Sincerely, Corwin Ragnarrson, Commander, Black Wolf Expeditionary Force -
I absolutely love the look of this. The mix of Classic Pirates cues, with more modern building techniques and pieces is glorious.

Corona - What piratical things are you doing during this time
Corweena replied to Piraten's topic in LEGO Pirates
I missed out on the initial offering of the Barracuda Bay set....trying to take my time and find a used one at a good price now. The original BSB is easily my favorite of the classic ships, and I love the updated design of the new one. And same, I pulled out all my old ships, and have been cleaning them off. I have about 50% of the Skull's Eye Schooner set disassembled, so I'll probably start purchasing the parts I need for that, along with a bunch of spare cannons to fully equip the ships to their max with guns. May even do a bit of modding to them to increase the gun count on some. I need to figure out how I want to display them too. -

After 4+ years of just sitting in a tub, I finally built my Red Beard Runner. Inventoried the missing pieces I needed, and ordered them from Bricklink. When all is said and done, I'll only have about $100 into this one (half of the cost were the sails I just purchased!) Another complete one checked off the list. Need to decide what ship to do next. -

A nice little trio of sets that arrived from an eBay purchase. #1713/1733 Shipwrecked Pirate, #1970 Pirate Gun Cart, and #1464/1696 Pirate Lookout. I love finding cheap combo sets like this. Makes me feel good after spending a good chunk of change on larger stuff -

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Corweena replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Man, that is pretty ridiculous. People really don't want to take the time to assemble their own armies I guess lol. Back to the topic of the thread, I've slowly been gathering extra Pirate and Imperial minifigs with every Bricklink order I make. I also just lucked out on eBay and got a bunch of assorted Pirate pieces for $10.....palm trees, extra weapons, Armada soldiers, and about 250 other ship parts. Pretty good score overall.- 502 replies

Back at it again after a little bit of a hiatus. I scored a bulk lot on Craigslist last week for $30. I normally don't buy bulk, but this had a good amount of complete sets, including some pirate stuff I could see in the pics, so I pulled the trigger. Man, did I luck out. In addition to a bunch of 90s space stuff (which I built and am selling on eBay already), I got an 90% complete #6249 Pirate Ambush, 75% complete #6296 Shipwreck Island, 60% complete #6289 Red Beard Runner, and a 100% complete #6246 Crocodile Cage. I'll be Bricklinking the rest of the needed parts for those shortly. The crown jewel of the lot though, was that I got my hands on a 100% complete #6250 Crossbone Clipper. Even though this is the smallest and least complex ship, it also appears to be one of the hardest to find cheap. Once I sell all the stuff I don't want, I should be able to break even on all the parts I need for the other sets. -
My first set was actually a trio of Islander sets for my birthday.....6262 King Kahuka's Throne, 6256 Island Catamaran, and 6236 King Kahuka. I still have them to this day.

2 new additions to my Classic Pirate collection: 6268 Renegade Runner (missing 2 pieces), and 6244 Armada Sentry (complete). Both for only $5 out of pocket! -
Agreed. I knew it couldn't match the original.....but it definitely was better than the second or third lol. And that last fight scene was pretty awesome.
