LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Llewop replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I’m probably one of the few that are happy about the sets. Only because it is something new both legion wise and possibly build wise had it been anything with the 501st in then yeah I would have been annoyed but it’s something different. It’s also because there are so many sets that aren’t system sets that could and should have been covering other eras or factions. At the moment I’ll wait to hear what figures and how many, I’ve always wanted the marines ever since I first saw ROTS in the cinema and playing og battlefront 2 ( I always thought they were just clone snow troopers tbh). Yeah after these two I’m done for now, unless there is like a P2 legion that’s like green or orange that’s prominent that I’m not aware of. Im a rebels fan so would love more empire stuff and more troopers types they’ve never done or haven’t done for a while. -

For me the chopper set is an excuse for another buildable droid. He’s probably in top 5 most iconic droids in SW. they’ve already done the top 3 (3P0, R2 and BB8) with them doing K2S0 as well this year I’m hoping they’ve finished and won’t be doing any more -

I agree, but then realistically what sets could they do that would actually sell well to all ages. I feel like most would be £100 plus sets. I think the problem is and this goes for most things in SW is that people want the characters but a lot of the scenes they appear just don’t/can’t realistically transfer in to a set. take Dedra can’t do a set where she’s torturing someone or when she’s sitting in a meeting room. I do hope season 2 offers a chance at more sets but I think the key is Andor success and popularity. Season 1 was very good but don’t think it had as high viewing numbers as the others shows, with it being the only new thing left this year I can see it being more popular -

From my point of view the MTT is the only hero vehicle being released :D -

I’d be more annoyed had it been another kasshyk (I can’t spell it but you know what I mean) wave or another 501st but definitely after this year Lego needs to chill with the P2 clones. I always want more Empire stuff, I want Purge Troopers, I want more inquisitiors, more shore troopers, that random flame trooper from the Mandolorian ( if they can do that Mortar trooper they can do him :D ). I always think it’s impossible to please everyone especially with how big SW is I think the nature of the beast is some fans will have expensive years and some will have cheap years. Just as long as they still have a focus on the system sets I don’t mind what they do. -

Purge Trooper bp alone I’m shocked they haven’t done one (could tie it in with Kenobi series as well), I am surprised it never got much representation especially when other video games have had sets, it’s not like the Jedi games have done badly either, I hold on to a slim hope that they bring Cal in to live action and then he gets the sets the series deserves V wing would have been a perfect excuse to do a cheapish (in LEGO terms) sets for TBB. i get why for most it’s not the most promising line up with all the clone sets but at least it’s newish stuff. Sets we’ve never had before or legions/figures that haven’t been covered. As much as we love the OT a lot of it has been done a lot and quite well to the point where I’d say we do need to focus on some other eras but in the same breath there is more to PT and CW than just the clone army -

I find these days if the piece count is higher it doesn’t mean it is getting bigger, a lot of the pieces are a lot smaller these days which is why I personally never care or worry to much about the piece count. im just glad there is another prequel era UCS -

I second this didn’t gold leader came in the Yavin set a couple years ago I feel like this referring to Enoch as only chance of getting him at the moment is in the night trooper bp so I think this is confirmation he isn’t coming -

Was a sucker and bought the interceptor. I think for that model of Jedi fighter it’s probably the best build imo. It’s not repetitive like the previous versions of like Obi Wans and Anakins. Few new techniques and new cockpit, and it gets points for me for the fact that the figures can sit in the cockpit and not have to lie down. Price is heavy for what it is but I’m a sucker for a Jedi fighter -

Casuals would probs only know Cody because he’s actually named in RoTS. Oddballs also mentioned but I had no idea if he is a commander. The rest you’d have to have watched something outside of the films. I think we are running out of commanders unless they wannna redo the kashykk troopers and Gree. I see a switch to P1 troopers is coming soon. it would be nice to have some Prequel location sets before we start getting a few new SW films/series I noticed the 2025 rumour thread hasn’t been updated with the latest info for the spring/summer is that because we aren’t 100% sure or because they just haven’t been added. -

I feel like they won’t only because it would have been the perfect opportunity for Nien Numb. Seeing as he was an anniversary figure last year I doubt they have plans to put him in a normal set. if they did it would give me hope that the anniversary figs will pop up again especially Cal Kestis but then we would all be annoyed at them wasting an anniversary figure slot for them to release the figure in a normal set a year or two later -

I was more wondering when they were coming are they being spread out over different waves like last year of is it just random at this point. All the RoTS/CW stuff is that June/August? We’ve had the bomber, interceptor and we’ve currently got the RTG on the shelves so unless it’s Vaders Tie, a defender or something else it seem unlikely. The only chance would be from Andor but isn’t the current thinking we are only getting U wing and K2S0 -

I’m looking forward to the ARC 170 and interceptor coming out still not sure if I want to buy them day 1 for a £100 combined. when are the other sets coming next year? Are we getting a March, May, June, August wave again or have we not had confirmation yet -

So been thinking about the 327th BP and the UT-AT and I wondered if at any point Lego considered swapping the two around. Giving us an AT-OT with the 327th in and guaranteeing a Bly and then having a galactic marines BP. It works both ways a new legion either way and a new vehicle. I just wonder with the 327bp if we’ll actually get Bly in it or if he would come in a future set. I don’t know how most of you lot would take it if they put a commander in a BP as he’d probably be pretty plain and not worth much like Vaughn from the Ahsoka bp. im not a clone bro, hate clone wars tbh but still like collecting Reoublic stuff so im quite happy with the rumours so far just wondered whether if would have been better to do it the other way round -

I’m thinking it would be more of 501st bp with two clone vehicles going up against a couple of B1s. Otherwise surely the leak would be we are getting a clone vs droid bp? -

Kind of torn on this if true, you’d hope it would have more B1s but then again if anyone’s been collecting for a few years now at least should have a huge stockpile of B1s so in a delusional kind of way I hope there are at least two or 3 different types of droid to come with it. And if it is only two minifigures my guess would be a Jedi/clone to go against the MTT rather than some random separatist guy -

It’s been listed as an 18+, I was under the impression they only did two UCS sets year which for 2025 is Slave 1 and Death Star. I’m curious about this set myself but not going to lie I’m probably the only one more hyped for all the clone sets (and I don’t even like clone wars) -

I think if it is a blue one it just continues LEGOs recent trend of redoing vehicles/ships from a different scene. AT-TE was from ROTS not AOTC, we got AT-ST from Hoth not Endor, we got the AAT in blue and not from TPM and then we got the Coruscant Gunship instead of one from AOTC. I personally like this approach as it’s giving for those who are interested something new rather than your lukes landspeeder or Hoth snowspeeder which is the same thing over and over. I don’t hate Lego for the amount of clones they are throwing I just think they need to balance it out more with other eras -

I’m liking the sounds of the sets, something new but also I think after this year maybe we need to leave the P2 clones for a while. But my wallet is going to be crying at the end of the summer with all these. Summer waves haven’t been afraid to do something different past few years which I respect there’s only so many Lukes Landspeeders I can tolerate lol. im hoping we might get some sets from anything but Clone wars for 2026 onwards we’ve got a while with no new SW media (except for Andor) so there is a chance to do some other stuff without having to cover new films/series -

Re the 2025 I asked recently I think the shift is until 2025 we chat in the 2024 and when January 1st comes it changes to 2025. im also sceptical atm im still not over the DS player turning into a star destroyer. If the 327th bp is real maybe it’ll be like the 501st from 2020 which was a bigger pick and had a couple of vehicles. also the turbo tank, was it definite? Could they have got it confused with like a normal clone tank like what we got a few years ago as adjusting for legos price rises would come in around that price now? I’m intrigued and for the complaints about getting a lot of clone wars I agree but we are getting things we haven’t before - be thankful that there is no 501st in sight. -

I looked at the old one that never made it to the shelves and isn’t there the potential for quite a feel long and large panel pieces. I’d presume there would be some sort of interior? I think piece count might be right but obviously the price is just a bit heavy. Also 2 150 sets in the summer wave I don’t know if my wallet could handle that and that’s without knowing any more possible sets to come -

so the 199 dollar set was an 18+ rumoured wasn’t it? That’s raised a few red flags for me. When do Lego do 18+ system scale sets for Star Wars? It’s normally only for UCS right? Whatever it may be I fear it is more of a gimmicky set than a normal set or dare I say it another buildable figure lol. one of you guys will know when/if we’ve had 18+ sets but I get the feeling we don’t normally especially for an August/summer release -

Yeah I get that but like people assume there are gonna be minifigs but what’s the point when they aren’t exactly going to be exclusive. The only real iconic scene on DSII is the throne room scene which we’ve just had an over expensive diorama of and 2 system scale sets in the past 5-10 years. The only thing I can see this being if it truly is a 1000 set based on DSII is just a display model My only hope for this set is if it is a minifig scale Death Star and it’s a reimagining of the one that retired a while back which features scenes from ANH, ROTJ and maybe even Rogue1 and it had 20-30 figures but even then 1000 for a kids toy even aimed at an adult audience is mad. My wife doesn’t mind me collecting Lego because it used to be a lot cheaper than other hobbies but at this rate I think it’s just crazy. Was it true that SW saved Lego back in the day? I know SW is still one of the most popular themes but if the shift to adult sets keeps going on, and the kind of cheap and accessible sets for kids to be introduced to the theme reduces then I don’t see a viable future for the theme. The Harry Potter theme since its return has already been through the films and started again and does a better job of having a balance of the 18+ but also the basic system sets (kind of like how SW used to be) it also keeps being out newish sets which again is a good lesson for SW as you know SW has even more options for sets than Harry Potter. Harry Potter has their series coming out soon and I can guarantee they’ll do sets off that and still do the films and still maintain a good balance but SW has had a whole wave of new content and instead of cashing in on it they do the opposite. my point badly put probably is how can other licensed themes do it right and SW not. But like I put in another post earlier they are clearly making money out of these sets otherwise they wouldn’t risk having 6 on the shelves at the same time come summer time. Maybe we all aren’t seeing something that the other AFOLs who buy these buildables are. -

But what exclusive figs would they actually include to make it desirable? No ones going to be jumping at getting an exclusive emperor, Luke or Vader. When they have been all included in recent cheaper sets.
