That's the one. I knew it was in Chima sets, but I'm not a huge fan of those. -

Someone posted a close up of the base-element to Terabyte's gun, and all I can say is that I am excited for the possibilities that it can bring! -
Anyone know where this sticker sheet is from?

I've never seen one of those, but I think it's pretty neat! -
Lego Loosing the Ball with Superheroes Sets
obsidianheart replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Licensed
It was probably an internal decision at LEGO based on the cost of the licenses for those moves compared to other Marvel properties, and then weighed against the large amount of sets that they already had coming out this year for all themes. (Brickset says there's something like 480, while Bricklink only has around 240 listed). -

I like that Jayko gets a shield. -
Lego Loosing the Ball with Superheroes Sets

See? Also, I'd like to point out that LEGO's marketing towards kids has always been pretty strongly centered around vehicles, and with most Superheroes, there aren't many. Most of them can fly! So, I also imagine it's tough to come up with stuff kids will like, include enough diverse minifigs to keep the adults happy, keep the pricepoints realistic (something we often see people ignoring when talking wishlists), and still move enough units for the theme to be profitible. You can usually get away with, like, one or two building-type playsets for a theme, but most kids think that's boring, and want the "swoosh" (or "vroom") factor. -
Lego Loosing the Ball with Superheroes Sets

They probably were thinking about how venomously angry you would get and thought it would be funny! Only joking. They probably thought it would be a good way to promote their comics-based Super Heroes line to a crowd who might not normally be interested in LEGO, were probably really interested in collecting and exclusives, and were most definitely into comics and Super Heroes. I don't think they meant to make everyone mad, but I hear that they fumbled their handling of it last year and pissed off all the AFOLs. Shame, that. -

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the reason we didn't see any Thor 2 or Cap 2 sets is because they're sequels to established franchises released during the same year as an untested IP (Guardians of the Galaxy) that Marvel/Disney is probably going to be throwing all their marketing dollars behind. LEGO has to make deals for these licenses, and while I can't pretend to know the specifics, they usually involve paying the license holder a lump sum, granting the license holder a percentage of the profits, or (usually) both. It may have been more economic for LEGO to contract 3 Marvel Licenses than 4 or 5, especially since a good chunk of their allotted yearly set releases were going to be devoted to their own theme. So, they're making sets of the Avengers Cartoon because it includes the widest range of recognizable characters while still granting a small cross-section of diversity for the people who don't want 30 of the same character. They're doing sets from the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon because I don't think LEGO has the license to do the movies. I dunno what everyone's complaining about with DC. Batman stuff was a no-brainer since he's in LEGO's Movie, and since DC/WB cancels their cartoons seemingly at random, it would be hard for them to retain a presence of awareness in the marketplace. Couple that with half the AFOL yelling "We have enough Batmobiles!" and I imagine you get a theme that's challenging to design for. -

Collectible Minifigs had a few odd ones, and Dollar Bill from Agents 2.0 had green hair. -
Why are so many people against custom decos?
obsidianheart replied to B-Lister's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I'm a fan of some, I dislike others. It really comes down to personal tastes, but I know some people who are purists who are just positively repulsed by some of the custom printed stuff I own (not to mention 3rd party accessories, cut parts, and selectively Brasso'd official prints). One of my purist friends saw a couple of zombies in one of my displays, and had to know which set I got them from because he thought they were official. When I told him they were customs, he promptly turned his nose up and said, "Ugh, nevermind." -
LEGO shouldn't make new parts for a year?

I like new parts! -
I would read message boards and forums and develop a moderate drinking problem.

Thanks for this! Been looking for it online.

How come HF ball joints get tighter when you blow on them?
obsidianheart replied to thoduo's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I used to use the nail polish trick on old Xevoz figures! -
I just have all my stuff laid out on shelves in a storage room at one of my parent's house for now. I had this whole idea for a comic-like photo set that would basically imply that all the major Agents villains used to work for Ogel before he went to jail (and then they broke him out later and made him work for them), all the supernatural or monster villains were bound to a prison dimension that was beginning to "leak", all the Blacktron guys were using recovered alien technology, and all the Aliens were looking for Blacktron's stuff. I'm probably not going to actually do it, though, as it involves building set pieces I don't have time or parts to put together.

Picked one of these up for more than I'm normally willing to pay off of eBay. Glad I did. It is a fun figure with a lot of unique elements.

I agree with this. I never, ever said a Ninjago movie would flop, or even do badly. Just that it wouldn't do better than or even as well as the LEGO Movie. That's it. None of my friends or their kids were as interested in the idea of a Ninjago movie as they were of a LEGO movie in general. That's the whole point I was trying to make.

I asked a room full of people, actually. Not sure what it would have mattered if it was facebook friends, but I guess if that changes your quantifier, then there you go.Don't really feel the need to do this "arguing over the internet" thing, though, so bye!

I understand that you are very passionate about your favorite theme, but you are being kind of overly defensive to people's disagreements about how a Ninjago movie would fare in comparison to a movie you haven't even seen. Take a breath. No one said it was going to flop, just that it wouldn't pull in the record-breaking numbers that the LEGO Movie is doing right this minute. As a quick study, I last night I asked a group of five adults (not including myself) and four children if they would go see a Ninjago movie. All of this group has seen and liked the LEGO Movie, with three of the adults and three of the children having seen it twice. Of the five adults one said they would see it, two said if there was a good trailer they might consider it, and two said they'd pass. Of the four kids, one (11 year old) said they'd go see it for sure, one (8 year old) said they'd go see it if one of the adults (who didn't want to see it) went with them, and two (9 year old, 12 year old) said definitely not.

I also think the assertation that a Ninjago movie would do anywhere near as well as the LEGO Movie, even with it's much-touted pedigree, is a little unrealistic. Sorry.
