Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
thebricksbear replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Please don't hold your breath until August January would be a great opportunity for a new Infinity Saga "wave," since there probably won't be any direct tie-ins to the MCU until June for Captain America. With almost a solid year without tie-in fig-scale sets, I am pretty salty this year's been a little dry. -

You know perfectly well I wasnt talking about Wolverine. Even casual MCU followers know Kang is the new "Thanos." No idea where you're getting this from. -

I mean yea, arent they? Most of the other xmen are more popular, and half a dozen people in the last few pages of this thread have already said they wish it were other characters. Overall, sure, but against Echo, Wolfman, Agatha, and Goliath? Kids saw Quantumania, not Moon Knight. -

Uhhh the most desired fig in several years was rumored to be included and then not/cancelled. On top of that, ALL of these characters are Marvel's C/D tierineup, the most popular being Hawkeye, of all things. This set is geared towards diehard MCU fans but I dont know how you can be surprised by lukewarm reception when Moon Knight is the most sought after. -

Wow that's heartbreaking. TLG very focused on killing their minifig collectors this year. -

HoND is kind of in the Pocahontas realm of slightly problematic. Add that to the fact that it's one of the more unpopular movies, arguable less so than even Atlantis (which has doorables now!) and it's not surprising it gets overlooked -

Lmao that was a very dirty move by lego IMO. Putting extremely desirable figs in an extremely ugly and expensive set. -

NGL I'm praying the tower looks terrible. I don't want to have to justify $1000 in lego for the tower, the Marvels set, the CMF, and the NWH battle. -

Can somebody just post the 'rumors'? I don't think that's against the rules, and as somebody else said, instagram updated to only show a certain amount of top posts per hashtag. -

I can't tell from the video but newelementary says the pink pieces are light nougat? It looks pretty in photos but I'm wondering if it's a little disconcerting to have a giant flesh colored tower -

Sad day for the half dozen people in here dying for a wendy fig.... NGL the set is gorgeous. I'd love to have those light blue pieces. The price is just plain unacceptable. -

I get the whole "B&W was unique" opinion, but have you seen other existing B/W figs? They're ugly as hell. Based on the concept art, if it ends up B&W, we're talking about dark bluish/stone grey head, torso, and hair, light bluish/stone grey arms, and black pants, and then some light grey printing on the face and torso. I went through my figs to pick out the ones I think are super ugly, and Ghost, non-prime (pearl dark grey) Ultrons, and the chitauri are all pleasing to have but are not good looking. Even white Vision is borderline but has really good gold printing. I have a couple of bootleg Moon knight figs because I didn't think they'd actually get made by lego, and honestly I'm a little worried for Mr. Knight as well, because beyond printing he's very boring in fig form. All of this aside, having WbN in color would be great for non-Marvel collectors as well. There's a couple of wolf-man figs in lego form but they all have wolf heads to my knowledge. -

God black and white WBN would be so heartbreaking for all of us purists. Funko are collectors items vs lego being toys, so it makes more sense for Funko to be BW. Concept art for WBN was in color though, so lets all pray. -

The inexplicable choices in some of these accessories really make them seem legitimate. I don't remember Hawkeye having an owl, I have no idea who Oliver is (I'm assuming they misread print that said "quiver," and I'm surprised Steven's fish is worth including. I wonder if Wolverine will be different enough from the mech Wolverine to even bother with. I'm just praying that Kang's helmet is dual molded purple+transparent light blue -

Who would you all put in a villains 2 set? Excluding CMF villains. Lion King is probably what I'd like to see most currently, even if it's just the newest Lion mold recycled/printed for Scar and Simba (and of course Timon and Pumba). -

If Lego does anything like the last Spiderverse movie, we can expect Spidey's sprinkled across next year. Hopefully re-releases of the first characters cause I didn't drop large amounts of money on crappy sets for SpiderHam or Gwen. SpiderPunk is a guarantee. I believe they created a new mohawk piece for Monkey Kid this year. -

It's been yeara since I reviewed any of this info, so I'm not clear if any of it changed, but Marvel (Disney) owns merchandising rights to Spiderman, just as they did Xmen/F4. I agree that it seems silly not to go ham on Spiderverse toys, but limiting Sony's biggest Spidey breadwinner may be part of the reason. Legends and Titan toys for the movie exist but otherwise I'd say the toy promotion is pretty limited, not just Lego. Definitely if you compare it to Wakanda Forever or even Eternals. -

The Little Mermaid was awesome. If it wasn't $170 I'd love to get the tie in set. I really wish they would've left off the bulky clamshell. It would've taken a big dent out of the price. -

How is it incomplete? The only things its missing are Lizard, who was DEFINITELY not getting a new mold, is the least popular villain, and barely in the movie (to the point where the actor wasnt even on set), and Sandman, of whom there are already a handful of figs, and theyre all underappreciated because he's also extremely unpopular. The build is great, it covers the statue well, has really good play features, portals, and accessories. IMO this is way beyond what we expected. -

Wow, the A-force set literally is just a pile of pieces... If it had exclusive figs, it could be great. But for $100, you get 4 repeat figs, a new version of Valkyrie, the Thanos bigfig from arguably the best Marvel set in years, and then the Wasp microfig? At least Wasp prices will drop on BL I guess... Honestly the NWH set is better than I expected. We all knew it would be a garbage build with sought after figs. The build is actually pretty playable and we even got Ned/MJ. I like the cube as well, it'll be a good addition to the Sanctum museum. -

Somebody pointed this out when I asked a similar question, but the Cinderella photo leaks have the slope backwards. There may be printing on the front. -

Isnt the set $400? Hopefully this is a prototype because no leg printing is unacceptable for a big set like that -

I really doubt we'd see anything else from Guardians or NWH. If there were more sets, then the ones already released wouldn't be so 'complete,' meaning all three spideys and all guardians members are in the existing sets. A Spideyverse set would be cool though! Would be nice to get those characters (Spidey 2099, Spideypunk, Jessica Drew) in a bigger set rather than spread out through a bunch of bad Spiderman sets over the next year.
