  1. But if you MOC the war whale, where are you gonna get your Talocans?
  2. I finally got a pretty huge Target discount on War on the Water, and it's not as bad as I initially thought! The bad: The figs are actually not that great, though they may be the only reason to get this set for a lot of people: IronHeart is great (despite the closed version of the helmet), Okoye and Mbaku are pretty bland figs (I wish Mbaku wore brown or dark bluish gray). Namor is cool, and Black Panther is w/e (I feel that all Black Panther figs are a little meh). The boat uses a LOT of empty space inside. Other than the outer hull, there's an enclosed space for the 'prison,' and beyond that the rest of the interior is closed off and wasted. There are many times throughout the build that 1x1, 2x2, or 4x4 plates are stacked to form 2/3's height 'bricks'. I really dislike this and it's not a fun build technique, though I know the 2/3's plates are expensive and rare to find in sets. The drones are boring and dumb. I would've much rather seen a mounted gun or really any other play feature. The stud shooters and generic pack of mechanic tools I could really do without. Throw a couple of atlantean figs in here instead of the drones and junk and this would be a great set. The good: Once completed, the boat is really solid and actually pretty cool I love using plates to decorate the sides of builds using brackets/SNOT bricks, and the entire boat has a black plate armor. Fun and satisfying to build Triangular builds using hinge plates are also a favorite of mine (loved the Domo), and the boat executes this well The engines on the boat are also fun to build. There are a number of 'rarish' parts, and some outright rare pieces that I have never owned before. I'm almost excited to tear it apart and steal them, haha. I think Lego's commitment to the Marvel fire extinguisher is hilarious and I'm here for it. This set has 2! I'll probably eventually MOC this so that the boat can open up some more, and get rid of the jail cell. If you can find this set on discount, it'd be worth the price. Especially for either big fans of the movie, or people who know nothing about the movie at all.
  3. Mostly set photos, but also the comic con trailer. I dont think Im allowed to or even should share that spoilery stuff. In retrospect hes completely CGI, but youd expect to see Sean Gunn in his place.
  4. Rocket missing from promo material that shows Starlord, Nebula, and Drax in classic Guardians red/blue outfits makes me nervous ☠ I know the endgame outfit was meant to emulate the uniform, but its be cool if the new mech uses it or something closer to the comic version. Itll surely use the new raccoon head.
  5. I'm by no means a fan of the Hulkbuster, but I think what we learned and probably need to remember is that Lego didnt design it, it was a specific designer/person, and there's a decent chance they browse these boards... I honestly think Galactus will probably be designed like a celestial, which should be awesome. I'm debating picking up the Arishem build or MOCing one while believing there may be more in the future that arent uniform to that design.
  6. I am one of the dolts that hunted down the stones on bricklink to avoid buying the entire Infinity Wars wave... the complete gauntlet (with sprues) was in last years Marvel Advent Calendar, and is pretty cheap on bricklink.
  7. Marvels and Antman swapped release dates back in April... I'm sure that's plenty of time for Lego to adjust their own schedules. Remember Disney also has marketing campaigns tied into the release of these sets- 2021's goofy release schedule was a covid anomaly. When did we hear about 2022's CMF releases last year? The main series has been pretty unappealing to me personally the last few years so I'm dying to hear about any licensed CMF series coming in 2023.
  8. I agree with everything everybody's said so far. I'm not a fan, but I wasn't going to drop that kind of money on anything non-minifig scale anyway. Good news though! If you don't like it, you only have to wait a few months for the next Hulkbuster set!
  9. We're all being really hard on Lego for 2022 sets like the Armory, Black Panther Bust, and the War on the Water (not to mention the several Build-a-Figure sets)... There have been some really stellar sets this year though, particularly in the MCU sets: Dr Strange: Gargantos Battle Dr. Strange: Sanctum Sanctorum Thor L&T: Goat Boat Black Panther: Shuri's Sunbird Wolverine/IronMan/BP Mechs Thor's Hammer Spiderman FFH Polybag entire Spidey and his Amazing Friends wave
  10. Does lego.com discount poor selling sets like retailers do? I have enough gift cards/VIP points to get sets but don't want to waste them if the prices will come down...
  11. Just popping in to let everybody know that despite War on the Water, Shuri's Sunbird is an awesome build. Should absolutely have been cheaper though.
  12. Without reading the last 4-5 pages, is the concern that there won't be a Deadpool fig, or that there won't be Deadpool 3 sets? Even Morbius is showing up in a "Spiderman" set, so you can guarantee a much more popular Deadpool would appear in fig form, probably is some other sets (my guess would be Xmen '97 sets, which we are surely getting)
  13. I really hope the GOTG3 sets have a Groot with Woody/Avatar arms and legs!
  14. This^ In the grand scheme of things, most people already assumed Shuri was the new BP, and for whatever reason Lego leaks don't seem to spread through the leak communities like other toys, set photos, etc... Doesn't really feel like it, but all we've gotten so far was a 'teaser,' and not a real 'trailer.' I imagine it'll be revealed in the trailer, or else Marvel wouldn't have allowed Lego and Hasbro to put spoilers in their toys.
  15. Given how Morbius and any other comic Marvel hero has showed up in lego form, my bet would be on Squirrel Girl showing up in a random Iron Man set next year (her first appearance was with Iron Man lol)
  16. Man, some sets are really made by the figs, but if I'm being honest the build is so off putting I dont really even want to spend the money. Maybe bricklinking the figs is the better call on this one. Hopefully the Iron Man armory and this set arent indicative of what we can expect going forward in regard to price vs quality... The Endgame Final Battle and the Goat Boat were amazing sets for their price.
  17. I'd really expect Champions/Young Avengers to be the D+ teamup counterpart to the Avengers, and I think that's more likely to get sets than another D+ spanning cmf. If thats the case, we can likely cross off characters like Hawkeye, Kate, and Ms Marvel from getting CMF figs at all.
  18. The one that always comes to my mind is the "Lofi girl" printed tile that's in a Monkie Kid set or something. Maybe it's time we start letting ourselves mourn and heal and admit that there's probably not more NWH sets coming...
  19. That would be a dream... I was accounting for a $30 set that would have been a $20 set in 2021... I guess even in Antman's first set there were three figs with the miniscule build. Hopefully this is more like the Endgame battle pack
  20. I'd put my money on Antman and Wasp figures, and a Modok build, and skipping both Kang and Stature/Stinger/Cassie/etc
  21. Isn't there a hulkbuster set in the January wave? Seems like it could be misconstrued info. Regardless, nobody was going to get a $500 Black Panther vehicle set, so there's not really any reason to be disappointed by a bust we're not going to get either. I'm most surprised that Marvel is so confident in Black Panther WF that they're merchandising this much.... Especially if Captain Marvel, Antman, the D+ shows, and DC properties aren't worth the merch.
  22. The Guardians advent calendar is pretty weird. Some of it, like the stereo and Milano micro-build are amazing, but some of it is absolute filler. Not really a fan of the 3-day build, mostly because I have no idea what its meant to be. There are more than a few "days" that would be pretty disappointing if I was a young kid (cough, cough, generic tool rack, cough).
  23. Kaecilius missing is definitely an indication they have other sets planned, as he is a far more obvious choice than several characters in this set.
  24. What would be awesome is the opposite of the D2C- a mini-Hulkbuster thats scaled to the size of the Hulk/Cull Obsidian bigfigs
