  1. I've said this before, but after Avengers Tower, and the nonstop love for Thor from lego, Asgard seems like a very likely D2C.
  2. I missed that it was a brickheads set, which is why nobody is talking about it 🤣
  3. Has the "Cap 4: 2 pack" from Brick clicker been talked about already? I'm super disappointed because it seems to indicate the other set with Sabra and Falcon was cancelled.
  4. CMFs are the single best way to get new, niche, and detailed figs. By a long shot. I'd even suggest that Tiana may have been skipped for another princess in the castle and the Aurora castle would've been skipped entirely if not for the CMF. #1- CMF's are still the cheapest way to get specific figs and pieces, even if they're not exclusive. Literally no other lego sets, including polybags, are as cheap as CMF's. If you're looking for a 'lute' accessory, buying it with a CMF is the cheapest way to do so, save for as part of a bricklink order or something. #2- The CMF team, or the CMF line itself, get's budget to create things that become staple lego pieces and figs afterwards. For example, a new goat was likely to appear in sets regardless, but pieces like Pocahontas' hair only became options for characters like Isabella (in the disney princess line) because the mold existed for Pocahontas first. Even if you never buy a single CMF, the fact that it exists is making other lego sets better. Exclusive has become a dirty word lately thanks to a certain fandom, lol. Uniqueness is the antithesis of a brick-building system. Something being collectible shouldn't mean no one else has it. And of course the people who are buying this product to increase rarity and resell can eat it.
  5. Timon and Pumba minifigs would be so effing cool, can you imagine Like yea we've got lion molds that could repurposed into Simba or whomever and maybe a warthog mould could happen but Timon?
  6. It occured to me that Lego really loves Thor for whatever reason, or Thor is far more popular than he appears to me. A lego Asgard would be a great D2C; something akin to the Sanctum. Its honestly a little shocking they havent made a rainbow bridge set yet, and an Asgard set would be a great way to make the Warriors Three without a bunch of new molds, as well as stuff like Odin, Hela, etc... that would need new/archived molds. I'mnpersonally dying to have dark elf pieces. The masks as well as the white "bald with pointy ears" minifig head pieces would be rad.
  7. I've been away so I missed all the reactions to the new Avengers wave, but I'm honestly shocked there's no discourse around Surtur's build, since for me and I think many others it was the most anticipated new set. His head is the Kro head from the Eternals sets, and his crown is attached by a bunch of connected pieces up his back and around the top of his head. It's hidden semi well in most of the pictures- have people not noticed or does it not bother anyone as much as me? Lol I honestly would've done really anything else build-wise... using the shoulder pieces from the buildable figures, like Molten Man, would've been better IMO. Having collected this theme for years now, most of the new sets are passes for me due to price, but I'm very happy for fans of the theme being able to get full lineups of AoU and Avengers figs. My wallet is happy too. The weird Iron Legion helmets make that set probably a pass as well, but maybe the old figs will drop in price now.
  8. The negativity is baffling. If you're not interested anymore, move on. No need to stick around and tell everybody why you think something "is going to flop," just let the rest of us enjoy it. I really hope there's a D+ series 3. Ive stayed away from the Xmen so far but if they throw a Nightcrawler or Gambit in I'd cave. I'd love to see Kahori and I'm sure Agatha will have an opportunity for new characters. Daredevil and Kingpin would be great as well.
  9. Is the GWP usually tied to Star Wars-only purchases? I want to say previously that I'd gotten a GWP that was a medallion or something that was Star Wars only, but tbh $160 is high for me when most of the available sets are dioramas and buildable figs. Gotta have that carrier though...
  10. I know new costumes are probably desirable, but for MCU collectors we already have most of the Thunderbolts figs. Lego really knocking it out of the park IMO would include Yelena (non-negotiable), Red Guardian, US Agent, and Sentry. I'm not convinced Abomination isnt in it anymore and with all the Hulk bigfig hype these year I have a renewed interest in him
  11. Any good guesses on when the next 2x VIP weekend might be? I'm really wanting to get the tower but since it's a massive amount of points, it'd be dumb not to do it on a VIP weekend.
  12. Wow. In hindsight I realize that I was only excited about this wave because they'd have a specific couple of minifigs. Now that none of them are in these sets, most of it is a skip for me. Hydra vs Iron Legion battle pack- $25 is insane and nobody should buy this. Remember what you're telling Lego is acceptable Avengers vs Leviathan- if you bought any of the big MCU sets the last two years, this is kind of a pass. Seems like they're making these sets for army builders Avengers vs Hydra- Maybe it's got a bunch of the loopty clear minifig stands to recreate the frame from AoU? Otherwise surely MCU lego fans have all of this by now. Another for army builders? Milano- I'm happy for all of you getting your grey Drax, and I bet the MIlano will look good next to the Benetar and Bowie. Sucks about baby groot though. Midi-carrier- happy for the ship collectors but this one seems like it'll end up on the clearance end caps with the helmets and wolverine claws and that one eternals set that's still sitting around Suter- I guess that's curtains for the "sitting Surtur" gang unless it's some rando henchman. My bet is honestly on Thor and Valkyrie figs, but I'm rooting for yall to get a new Hela Hopefully if there's a new Ultron set in fall/winter it'll have the figs we're begging for
  13. I mean I'm sure you're aware that THAT Kang was not meant to be the Phase 4-6 antagonist and that 3+ other variants are. When I see this comment (and the ant one), it's funny, because those people really aren't getting what makes Kang scary. He's not as physically imposing as Thanos and he's not meant to be. It's the idea that since Kang achieves multiversal travel in almost every timeline, killing one of them is next to useless. Maybe Marvel failed at really explaining why that's a big deal, or maybe people just didn't watch Loki. Either way, the point of Quantumania was show that this guy who almost kills Antman is the weakest Kang variant, and it even ends with the question of whether Antman even really beat him. Regarding Lego, I hope that if they repurpose Kang Dynasty they don't drop Kang completely because I'd love to see a plethora of Kang variant figs.
  14. The more fun thing to do wouldnbe to have new pieces, like a flame "helmet" in trans orange that can go over his head, or even torso. We have them for hands already. Same with Sue- there was a rad "force ghost" piece that was fake years ago but went over the whole body of a fig. I recall designers seeing it on social media and thinking it was real lol. I hope they go another way with Reed figures than they did with Ms Marvel and Elastigirl years ago. Pulling arms out is horrible and I dont want to do it.
  15. I mean this would be great but Ragnarok is not going to get an entire wave. Its almost 7 years old. You're comparing it to NWH which is very recent and didnt recieve tie ins despite being VERY toy-friendly, whereas comparing it to Guardians 1 is more appropriate- Rocket's Warbird is also from "the final battle" but dont count your chickens on anything more than the Milano. I'd literally bet money right now that Surtur's going to be a "buildable figure" a la Spidey/Antman Quantumania/etc... and I guarantee he will be agnostic of either part of the movie (theyre not going to promote this set having him sit in a chair lol).
  16. Sure Lego knows what a toxic thing it would be to include Deadpool in only a GWP. It would skyrocket D2C purchases, sure, but after market would be so horrible for a fig that many fans are dying for. I personally doubt it'll be based on the intro rather than the climax, though it probably doesn't matter. I think most fans/kids remember Surtur from destroying Asgard. Either way, my take on this entire wave is that Lego isn't above shoving desired figs into canon-adjacent sets, and I'm here for it! Rocket's Warbird and Ronan is a good example of "that didn't quite happen but close enough." If Lego wanted to make a new Hela fig, this would be a good enough opportunity, but the real question is, is Surtur enough to sell this set or is the set really about a Hela fig (as the Warbird is as much about Ronan figs for collectors as the build).
  17. I guess the conversation is about whether the D2C will be strictly Xmen97 or not? My 2 cents is that that would be an incredibly limiting move for... no reason? Xmen97 isn't meant to solely be introducing Xmen to a new generation (though it will for some kids), there's really no reason a large set like this would cater to ONLY those viewers. Additionally, branching out from their IPs is a Marvel trick that's been used a thousand times now: "Wait, I don't recognize this character from Xmen 97, let me look up who that is and consume other media to learn about them." It's the entire reason they do cameo stingers. My point being, there is nothing to gain from making a D2C exclusive to Xmen97 and much to lose. Designs could absolutely be updated to Xmen 97's, sure, and I hope they are because Bryan Singer's naked Mystique has been a blight on the xmen for too long.
  18. There aren't many sets in the January wave I really like, but looking at those sets AND the summer wave, it really looks like Lego is listening to it's adult fanbase. Nobody has said any more about whether the Captain Falcon set is still coming this summer, but that set aside, we've been begging for legacy sets and specific figs and lego is obliging. I also wonder if the new Milano means we'll finally get the "tall" Groot we've been waiting for. Maybe even a new Drax shirtless torso for those still missing it? If you bought the old Quicksilver, Drax, Ultron, Iron Legion, Hela, etc... on bricklink, now's the time to sell!
  19. I'd put money on a new Hela in the Surtur set, after Ronan being brought back. Honestly what surprises me is the idea of two "final battle" sets featuring all of the Avengers. Hopefully there isnt a reprint of ohasing Vision in the AoU set lol. Looks like theyre going after reprinting the old villains though, with Ronan and Ultron reappearing.
  20. Battle packs would be so awesome. I'd love troops of Shield agents, Ultron drones, Chitauri, Sakaarans, and Kamar Taj sorcerers. New Nova corps and Ravagers would be cool too
  21. Lego conference room doesn't throw a red flag for anybody? Even with Darth Vader and Storm Troopers, wouldn't the set literally ONLY be for fig collectors wanting Tarkin? No child would excited about receiving a conference room lego set lol
  22. Having bought the Knuckles set with a discount, I need to say, beyond the figs it truly is as bad a set as it looks. I feel like there are few sets that don't surprise me with fun building techniques or something, but this set has none ;_;.
  23. This is all but confirmed by the actress and now the lego set leaks I believe. Yes, most comic readers know Wanda and Pietro have been retconned several times and I mentioned them with Ben Grimm because in the early 90s, when Marvel spiked in popularity, they were prominent. Regardless, you seem to be agreeing with me that "comic book heritages" can be pretty flexible and are also an opportunity for marginalized people. Genuine question: how many Jewish (or even middle-eastern) themed references/pieces/prints are there in Lego? I cant think of any because I follow SW and Marvel mostly but are there CMF or Aventure pieces from back in the day?
  24. It's already been mentioned that Sabra would be agnostic of the anti-palestine revelation storyline from the comics, so the only unanswered question is, 'what's the point of sabra if not to include that moment?' Obviously to be an Israeli and Jewish superhero that those viewers can relate to. Before anyone screams Ben Grimm, there are plenty of Jewish superheroes that don't represent the readers the way characters like Sabra (and Ms Marvel for example) do. In fact, Quicksilver's and Wanda's Jewishness were removed from their characters. Timing is unfortunate with the crisis in the middle east and everyone being sensitive to the mere mention of the word Israel, but there's absolutely no reason this character can't exist without a correlation to the war. I sincerely hope they keep this character and do something productive with her, despite my feelings about real world events. I also hope that this set is far enough along and close enough to release that it isn't impacted by the extremely negative conversations happening all over lego social media. On another note, I was looking around at sets that had comparable figs and pieces and someone already posted the Black Panther set, but the Homecoming set is also similar and was amazing.Sadly, it was $40 on release, LOL
  25. Remember that Cap 4 was in production throughout the writer strike so its likely the reshoots will correct some of the constraints put on the talent. I doubt Sabra would be removed at this point (simply having a Jewish person in the movie isnt offensive, come on now), but since Red Hulk is surely entirely CGI, there's probably not much reason to remove/update him either. If Red Hulk wasnt going to be a movie spoiler to the point they wouldn't bother hiding him in the Lego set, its safe to say he has a large role.
