When I remember these kinds of things (that are usually disappointing lol) I remind myself that Lego consistently defies its own rules and seems to be profitable enough that they're willing to take big risks, ie. F1 theme, Monkey Palace, etc... As the biggest IP in the world, I feel like lego may be a little more willing to stretch their mold capacity for Pokemon than some of the other themes.

Man this thread is always a joy, lol. These sets look great. This is probably the best single MCU wave of sets we've had in YEARS, even before Endgame. It sucks not getting Walker or a new Sue or Shang Chi, but the hype around this movie isn't really going to be those characters. The positives: Avengers Tower for the mini-modular Marvel city builders Doom The first affordable Quinjet ever Sentry and Red Guardian Nightcrawler An affordable Sentinel Flame-On Johnny and classic Thing There WILL be follow up sets, rest assured. We've gotten Endgame Final Battle sets for like 5 years, lol. Remember that Secret Wars is next year and this is not, by far, the last opportunity to get these characters. Regarding the trailer itself, I still don't like Tony-Doom or the immediate reversal of Steve's exit, but fans don't have any room to complain. We trashed everything Marvel tried after Endgame and their last resort was this. I have no doubt it'll be good, but I'm ready to let the Fox-men go and get MCU Xmen, and to see the Thunderbolts be Thunderbolts and let Sam actually create an Avengers team.

There's a non-zero chance Deadpool is in Xmen 97 s2, given the side-teams, specifically Xforce are in it. I wouldnt be surprised if a more kid friendly appearance is used to hype the show and sell toys. Regarding Doomsday, there's set leaks for several of the bigger scenes and if you look them up they may be an indicator of which figs end up in which sets. I'm assuming the three sets are Avengerz Tower, the Arc, and Doomsday Final Battle. No idea which could have Doom but itd be too hilariously disrespectful if he only appears in the bust.

I'm willing to glaze OPLA a little so they keep making it, but being completely unbiased, OPLA is great because its dialed in the story quite a bit. Iduno if I really expect much from the Dragonball Z sets because it really is a show completely about characters and aside from the figs (which I love), I don't think of it as having a lot of interesting builds. Half of it takes place in deserts, lol. I know there's Kame house and Kami's lookout, but then... For OPLA, I really wish they'd do a Kuro/Kaya set, a Whiskey Peak set, a Laboon set, and a Loguetown set with the scaffolding, but if these sets were anime, that list would be a LOT longer. I can't lie, characters like Jango add a lot to the weirdness and comedy of the anime and manga but casual viewers miss nothing with them being gone. I'm impressed the show didn't try to make a lot of the silly stuff more normal in the second season, frankly. Like, Kuromarimo using static cling was something I definitely thought they'd cut. Since the only announcement was that S3 would be in 2027, I'm personally expecting it to be end of 2027. I dunno if that means sets could be in August again but of course the sooner the better, IMO.

NGL I think the Going Merry is an 'all-timer' lego set, even divorced from the show, but I agree that the Arlogn Park pagoda is really cool looking. Personally I modified it after purchasing it so that it wouldn't fall apart anymore due to the play features and it's a permanent part of my collection. If the new wave is lacking anything, it's a great build like this. The castle is kind-of there, but otherwise the wave is basically a fig collection with lots of junk sidebuilds, kind of like the Buggy set or the Windmill Village set. I really wanted to like Garp's ship but I gotta be honest it's super ugly.

Maybe yall's retail stores look different, but they're ALL shelf warmers around me

I'll be very surprised if it's not the same Doom in all sets, just as I would be hesitant to call him "comic Doom." It's probably just 'lego Doom,' in the way lots of figures aren't great representations of the MCU characters (ie. Namor). Like there's definitely folks who think the figs are meant to be adaptations of the actors, and in some cases I think that's true only because people like RDJ define the way the character looks. My take has always been that the characters are designed based on the way the actors portray them/wear the costumes and lego is a derivative of that design. Ie. Hawkeye and Falcon both shifted to designs sporting suits and sunglasses in the MCU, and after that lots of designs in other media also followed- but that's not to say that lego Hawkeye is comic based or MCU based. The difference on the other side is that there are very obvious and specific comic-inspired lego figs, like the newest green goblin in the Osborn set or the weird Iron Man from the encyclopedia. I think folks are really 'glazing' these sets because we're getting new characters. I'm very excited to have them too, but aside from leg printing, which is honestly unnecessary for characters like Tombstone or Boomerang, they look really bad. Boomerang is the best one, if only because he is nothing but prints. The Tarantula bandana is bad, the lack of a helmet for Scorpion is worse. Top it off with a DODC goon and a Hot Dog vendor of all things. The builds arent even worth mentioning, theyre laughable. I wouldnt care about these things but $90 for this is insane. I really hope they follow up with another set featuring Punisher and whatever else is going on in the movie; Daredevil, the Hand, Sadie Sink, etc... these sets are for a bricklink order, IMO.

I was planning to get the helicarrier, and it's a good looking set, but being a larger version of the midi-scale set from last year makes it a non-starter for me. I really wish they'd have done a 'lego-squished' minifig version, a la the old Avengers tower sets. I suppose I'll MOC my own, maybe with some of these pieces once they hit bricklink.

Adding my opinion nobody asked for... it's definitely just a turned regular body. There's not room inside a single-brick wide torso for the arm gear. I'm sure it's just going to be the small legs and normal torso. Do the antlers disconnect like other reindeer minifigs? I do wish they'd have gone with a nougat color. I'm assuming this also means no reindeer point either, but at least this way maybe we get a heavy point!

End of 2026. I'd keep an eye on it if you're looking to buy as last I saw it was on backorder. Likely resellers stocking up for the retirement. My impression was that the trailer just changed perspective, and it looks not as bad as I thought. I don't think the leaks were fake since they were the generic slop merch you'll see at Target, etc...

So the prisoner transport likely has the 'big bad' in it based on the trailer. I won't say the name but I personally still don't think it's the character reddit is dead set on, the depiction of those powers in the trailer don't look AT ALL like that person's, and it'd be hard to come back from that IMO. Hopefully that still means Punisher and Scorpion in the transport set, but for $60 I'm not expecting anything else besides Spidey and the villain. Remembering we have a $50 set on shelves with nothing but Spot and two Gwen/Miles reprints. I'm willing to bet the Spidey vs Hulk set is just another modular building and probably has nothing but Spidey and Hulk.

Given how massive the cast is for Doomsday alone, I'm not sure I can imagine a fig lineup for the 'tower' set that isn't disappointing. I suppose I'm hoping for New Avengers figs like Sentry, Walker, and Red Guardian, and we know we're getting Doom, but not having any Foxmen, Wakandans, F4 members, Champions, or Sam's Avengers is gonna be a bummer. If there's a tie in set, it would be crazy if it's not Fox-men related.

Honestly, I bet it's the sled. Which makes an interesting point- I think we're all expecting to not see multiple forms, but Chopper leading the sled is pretty iconic part of Chopper/Hiruluk's relationship. I think we're all also expecting a new hair piece to fit on a Chopper minifig head with the hat, antlers, and ears... so are they making a new reindeer piece with a minifig head? Or maybe they'll just give us the reindeer fig? Here's my predictions: 75641 Chopper & Dr Hiriluk Wipeout: Chopper and Hiruluk minifigs with a sleigh and reindeer piece 75642 Loguetown Marine Chase: Luffy, The execution platform, Buggy, Smoker (with some white energy pieces). I'd really love to see Alvida but I doubt it- I'd bet Tashigi is more likely given the name of the set. 75643 Chopper 76544 Little Garden Duel: Luffy, the giant candle, Zoro, Usopp, and Mr. 3. Getting a Mr. 3 hairpiece feels crazy but I cant imagine how this set or that fig could exist without it. 76545 Castle on Drum Island: Luffy, Wapol, Nami, Sanji, and Chopper, and the castle. For $100 and custom molds all over, I can't see how Vivi or Chopper points would be included, but I'd really like them to be there. 76546 Loguetown Marine Battleship: Garp, Koby, Helmeppo, Smoker, Bogard, Ms. Sunday, a few extra marines. 75647 Gum Gum Fruit I really would like to see Vivi, Valentine, and Mr. 5, but I don't think they'll make it. Maybe if we're lucky they'll do another wave since it'll be 2028 before there's more content, and OP has now had waves two years in a row.

The insinuation is that the pokemon molds are minifig scale right? It'd be so hilariously 'lego' if they made pokemon builds that weren't at scale with the figs in the set. If there are going to be molds for small pokemon and builds for bigger ones, I think we can safely guarantee there will be smaller pokemon minifig scale sets with the same pokemon. I could see 'builds' like bigger pokemon being exclusive to a big adult set like this, but lego doesn't usually spring for new pieces unless they plan to reuse them, ie. Zelda. I'm rationalizing of course, but the dream would be minifig scale sets with brickbuilt to-scale pokemon like Charizard but molded pikachu, squirtle, etc..

It would be very surprising if it's not, IMO. Of course this means this is the MCU Doom, but I don't see TLG making two prints for the same character in the same wave for not really any huge reason

Good eye! I don't know if this thread is a safe place to have this discussion, but the 'ears' on that building are definitely exactly like the Baxter Building. It's obviously not the Avengers tower, and it doesn't look exactly like the Baxter Building either, but it's definitely more Baxter than Avengers.

Aren't themes usually bundled together in set numbers? Doomsday was postponed last in May of last year, that's a long time for a set to already have a set number and release date imo, but I dont know what the previous movies and timelines were like off of the top of my head

There's not ever going to be 'comic' sets. Lego already showed as as recently as last year that they're completely content putting figures inspired by comics and by Sony movies into the same sets. It's way more likely that from a lego standpoint, concerning Doomsday sets AND the Advent Calendar set, there's not an MCU Doom or a comic Doom, there's just 'lego Doom,' in the same way they did Red Skull. The MCU design isn't different from comic Doom in any way other than more detail anyway. Btw why are we thinking the transport set is overpriced? $40 for an almost 400 piece set isn't even that bad for a Marvel set. Are there set descriptions somewhere that I haven't seen?

Prisoner transport sounds like exactly what we want, a plethora of bad guys, but that price is concerning, knowing Marvel/Lego :( Spidey vs the Hulk sounds boring, but I'm assuming it'll be a "Spiderman city" modular tie in, and hopefully has Punisher or some of the other leaked characters. I'm betting this movie gets some sets next year too, honestly. Glad to have a helicarrier and I hope this one is good. The old one was too small and too expensive IMO

Sure seems like lego has circled only doing minifigs for IPs like Disney or Wicked in big 'UCS' style sets. The buildable figure array is massive this year.

I think we all mostly assumed Ms Sunday, Mr. 5, and Ms Valentine would be excluded, but it seems more like Ms. Sunday is the main antagonist, so hopefully a fig is included! We ate good with figs in the last wave, so while I know we are going to have to get the straw hats again, I hope these sets are fig-heavy!
