  1. I don't think they'll do snakes again since we just got them this wave (or maybe that's just me being optimistic). On the topic of Legacy, I feel like it'd be weird to bring it back since Core is pretty much a replacement for it, but I also think having an entire wave every year that's mostly dedicated to remakes seems excessive. Legacy had a fair amount of sets but other than January 2021 it never felt like they overshadowed the new wave, and that was for Ninjago's 10th anniversary so I think it was fair.
  2. I actually had a similar issue with the Monkey King's Mech, though it wasn't super noticeable so I never bothered replacing it.
  3. I got mine in today and I pretty much agree with everything you said. It does feel like it's a bit better quality than the battle packs of yesteryear (both in terms of figures and builds), but not $5 better. It's not really a big issue for me since I almost never buy more than one anyway, but I wish it felt just a little bit more substantial seeing as how the price has been increased a fair bit.
  4. Great work as always, I love how Lance just gets completely sidetracked by the school tour.
  5. I know I'm very late on this, but I finally got a few of the Marvel CMFs. White Vision looks really good, I actually liked him more than I was expecting. Sylvie is nice but her head ruins it a bit for me, hopefully I can find a decent replacement. And Falcon is as good as everyone said, I'm very happy I got him. Unfortunately I got three of him, which is a shame since he doesn't really have many parts that work well for custome figs. I'm quite happy with them on the whole though, hopefully I can get some more.
  6. This is amazing, I could totally see this having been in Star Wars Visions.
  7. I haven't seen any rumors about that, but either way I don't think it's super likely. So far Ninjago's D2Cs have released in this order: Temple of Airjitzu (2015) NINJAGO City (2017) NINJAGO City Docks (2018) NINJAGO City Gardens (2021) So the only time there was an overlap, where more than one was available, was a point in 2018 where you could get both the city and the docks. The gardens is still available right now (albeit temporarily out of stock), so I don't think we're going to get another one for a little while. There is definitely still an appetite for the Ninjago City sets, so my guess is that we'll probably get another one sometime in 2023.
  8. I got the Flower Fruit Mountain a few weeks ago, and as I expected it's a fantastic set, easily my second favorite of 2021 after Ninjago City Gardens. The build itself just looks great, and the back/interior sections are surprisingly detailed. The features are all very cool, especially the movable waterfall. And I also think the minifigure selection is great, I like all the monkeys and Black Macaque is fantastic (though I do think the 2022 version is better). Overall a great set and my favorite of the theme I own, which is crazy since I already thought the Monkey King's Mech was a sublime set (and among the best Lego mechs ever made).
  9. That would be really cool, but I can't really see it happening since it would make all of those characters inaccessible to the average person, unless they did other sets that came with all of them too. There was also a different Statue of Liberty D2C a couple of years ago and an Architecture set, so I wonder if the market might be a bit too saturated for a large-scale version. I think the main reason people aren't super excited about Black Panther 2 is probably more down to the fact that it's still a ways out and we know relatively little about it. I think it would have been preferable if one of Black Panther's sets had been given to Doctor Strange (I know that's not how it works but whatever), but from Lego's perspective it probably makes sense to put the most sets out for Black Panther since the first movie was so huge.
  10. Unfortunately I am also starting to come around to the dojo. I say unfortunately because I have a good amount of other sets I'm interested in that are coming up, so I'm not sure I'll be able to fit the dojo in. It does look quite nice though. Like you said, it feels sort of like a modernization of the Battle for Ninjago City set. I still have that one though, so I should probably just skip this one.
  11. Agreed, it seems like whatever Lego was given to work with was only from the first fifteen minutes or so of the film. I really don't see how Lego could resist the chance to do some more spoilery sets, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see on that front.
  12. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe there are any sets left for January. We still have quite a few sets to be revealed that we know about, but I think those are coming out March or later.
  13. I'm still annoyed that the head with the mask printed on never came in more than one set. I always wanted it, but I couldn't justify buying just that one figure for the price it goes for, and I ended up getting the updated version of his ship because I just looked way better than the original. Maybe I'll see if I can find just the head for cheap.
  14. The training ground is alright, nothing I'm too interested in but if you're planning on getting the temple then I think it'd be a nice addition to that. It doesn't look as substantial as I'd expected, but I'll wait for better pictures before making a final judgement.
  15. I remember they said something about the first game being too mature or something along those lines, and that was why we didn't see sets for it, but I feel like it's more just a matter of what they think will sell. If Fallen Order 2, Eclipse, or any other large-scale games are coming out during a period where there isn't a ton of new Star Wars media releasing then I think one set with the main characters is possible, but unfortunately I think Lego is just a lot more interested in doing stuff based on the movies and TV shows. It kind of feels like they have something of an aversion to doing video game sets for anything. The only video game themes we've ever gotten are Minecraft and Mario (which are literally two of the safest possible picks) and Overwatch, which feels more like an exception. You'd think with how popular Fallen Order and literally any other major Nintendo franchise are we would have seen something by now, but I guess Lego is just a bit too cautious on that front.
  16. I don't really care about the sets, which is fine since I wasn't expecting to and there are a lot of other great sets coming out next year. I do like Rhino though, and also I think Hulk's truck is hilarious, I love how they have the bigfig Hulk hands attached to the front of it.
  17. It's funny since for a while we were all clamoring for Beskar Mando, but at this point the original variant would be preferable since he hasn't shown up in a while and appears in fewer sets than Beskar Mando does (with the cheapest being $50).
  18. Lego has done less logical things in the past, but I agree that it seems fairly unlikely. An Endor set makes the most sense to me, but even that doesn't seem like it could easily reach such a high price tag.
  19. I just noticed that the other day, hopefully he shows up soon since I only have the CW version of him. I wonder if Lego would be willing to put him in a set he doesn't necessarily belong in, since I'm not sure he would really fit in much aside from a new version of his duel with Yoda (and obviously the arena, but we're never getting that).
  20. I wouldn't call it a "Juniors" vibe, but I think I kind of see where they are coming from. I think the issue just stems from the fact that it fees very inspired by Ninjago City, but obviously isn't quite on the same level in terms of detailing and complexity. It's undoubtedly a great set (possibly my favorite I've seen from 2022 thus far), but it almost seems more simple than it actually is because of the natural comparisons to the more-complex Ninjago City.
  21. Having looked at the sets again, I think the combo mech is actually pretty great. The arms look a little bit unfinished with all of those visible technic pinholes, but otherwise I really like it. The separated vehicles all look alright too, and the fact that the whole thing is a massive Gurren Lagann reference is also a plus. The Temple is neat but as I mentioned before, it doesn't really look like it does enough to justify me buying it when I already own four Ninjago temples, especially considering all the other great sets coming out next year. The simplified designs for the smaller sets are definitely disappointing to me, but one other complaint I have is with the antagonists. I don't even really care that they're snakes again, but I really wish there was at least one big bad. I don't need four generals or whatever, but an obvious leader with a unique design would have gone a long way in improving the villain faction, for me anyway.
  22. Well, that was mildly surprising. The packs both look fine, but considering there are only three figs I really do wish they were cheaper. Maybe if they go on sale they'd be decent for army building.
  23. I have to say I'm not a fan of how junior-ized the smaller sets are. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me when they've been doing normal sets at low price points for ten years now. The other sets look fine, the only two that really catch my eye are the temple and combo mech, but I am a bit conflicted on both. The temple is nice but I already own four of them, so I'm not sure if I also need this one. As for the mech, I think it's pretty cool, but there are a few parts of it that look a little rough. On the whole this looks like an okay wave, not the best but not terrible. Also, is there a main villain here? It doesn't look like it to me but I'm not sure.
  24. This is really cool, I love how you did the paintings. The actual shape of the building is also great, overall very nice.
  25. Yeah, it's not really a 1:1 to situation but like you were saying, I do think there's a decent chance that Nya might not show up in the show this season. I could see them doing something where she gets revived right at the end, so even though the show isn't really accurate to the sets (or vice versa, whatever) it still kind of lines up.
