For me it doesnt matter how good the set is gonna be because we know it wont be minifigure scale set and thats just no go for me. At this point I am only interested about minifigures because I like to collect them no matter which set they come from.

Okay so D2C set will suck for most of the people.... Great I already save a ton of money on not buying chess, buildable figures, fawkes and now this. This means I will have budget to buy Daily Bugle set which is everything HP D2C set should have been and probably isnt gonna be as rumors are saying. Do you guys with sources of info know how many minifigures it will have as that might be only thing I will be interested :D

DH being too dark is just really weak excuse to not make sets. Rise of Voldemort is maybe the darkest scene in the franchise yet they made a set out of it (yes they didnt include Cedric but they were sneaky and put him into cmf so people can recrate this kid friendly scene). Also if kids saw movies 1-6 they definetely saw 7 and 8 too so what is the point of pretending that these movies are too dark for them and therefore they cant made sets based on those movies. How dark would be if they made Gringotts with dragon? How dark would be small set of tent from DH 1? And I could continue... Lego has made sets like duel on Mustafal which is one of the most violent scenes in SW so what the deal? Only thing which is too dark in DH is music and colour tone lol :D

Hi guys, its been a while since I was here, can anybody tell me in short what new do we know about future HP sets? I heard something about Shrieking Shack but idk where did it came from. Also what happened to hopes for DH sets for next year?

I hope this rumour is not right. I know there is very small chance for it but still.

I am really jealous now... Marvel D2C set is what Harry Potter one should have been. Huge minifigure scale building (Hogwarts, Diagon Alley or something else) with like 20 minifigures and not some lame buildable objects.

Lego can put there basically any room they want. Its not like they have been really movie accurate in terms of where they placed certain interiors so yeah Library or Hufflepuff dorm would be great here. If they made Astronomy Tower which has almost no exterior screentime, I am sure they can make Bell Towers.

Nice work man, this is exactly why I left space there. I dont have very good building skills to do it myself so lets hope Lego will make Bell Towers set next year.

I am happy you like it. While I was building these new sets I relized their builds arent really that different from older Hogwarts sets besides stack mechanism and green roofs (which you always can swap for grey as I did) so I felt kinda guilt for disliking them at first... I mean I am still kinda disappointed we are getting another Great Hall but fortunately I found use for it :D

While I was bussy building my virtual (future) Hogwarts in stud.io I kinda forgot about how much I wanted Gringotts this year or how I disliked new Hogwarts sets when I thought they wont fit with 2018-2020 ones lol. Except those brickbuilt sets and chess I am pretty satisfied with what we got for this year.

Thank you. Yeah, I agree that both Astronomy and Grand Staircase towers would look better if I lifted them by either adding extra floors or as you said putting them on rock foundation. I didnt consider adding chess set because that one isnt really modular building, it has no pin holes and you cant stack anything on it like with other sets. I am sure it is possible but you would need some custom building to make it work. My intention was to show how you can connect all these sets without any additional pieces and rebuilds but someone more creative (Xcube) already added chess set into his layout :D

Honestly I would be fine even with a shrunken version like this because it fits really well with Diagon Alley scale.

I couldnt help myself because I was so curious so I made Chamber of Secrets in stud.io. There were two options, either place it somewhere in ground level or go underground which would mean that I would have to build rock foundation for the entire castle to lift it. I chose 1st option and tried to find right place for it between other buildings. Only logical option was to place it beween Grand Staricase tower and Astronomy Tower. I also did 2nd and 3rd variant which are more movie accurate as they have bathroom placed above Chamber of Secrets. I dont know if you will like any of them too, but I just wanted to show you how many possibilities you have with these sets. 1. variant where bathroom set is connected to Astronomy Tower (its not visible in the picture) 2. variant where I placed bathroom above Chamber of Secrets 3. variant where I put Forbidden Corridor next to Chamber of Secrets

Honestly $250 price is enough to include another Diagon Alley building with decent size. Gringotts needs like 1500-1700 pieces so there could be like 800-1000 pieces left for something like Borgin and Burkes. I hope Lego wont fail us with this next year.

Okay so I added Whopming Willow and Room of Requirement. When I will have more time I will add Chamber of Secrets and some rock basement too. For those who are interested in making their own Hogwarts layout I can give you my stud.io models of all sets so you dont have to spend few days building it as I did :D Oh and by the way I estimated the size of this layout for 75x125 cm so it needs a big table or vitrine for display :D

Its a nice to see that I convinced so many people (including myself) that these new Hogwarts sets actually work pretty well with 2018-2020 ones :)

Oh wow I didnt know there are so many of them in these sets... I guess I need to update it in my model in studio because I used solid plates there :D

Thank you very much man, I am happy you like it. I cant tell you 100% because I built these new sets only by released pictures but to me it seems there are 4 grilled 8x8 plates in flying lesson set and 2 in Forbidden Corridor. I dont think COS set has any and with other sets I am not really sure.

I am happy that I gave you some inspiration. Also while building it I realized how tiny new Great Hall is compared to 2018 one and how useful that is because that way 2018 Great Hall will stay dominant in castle layout :D

This one is nice, 360 degree model. I see that you also connected new Great Hall and tower to Astronomy Tower set :D

Thx, yes I had to build all 2018-2020 sets in studio by instructions because there were no models to download. New sets were more difficult tho because they dont have inatructions available yet so I had to build them just by looking at pictures.
