Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I guess this set kinda still belongs to this years wave and I dont think we are getting new frog cards, it is just additional set with cards to make it easier for people to complete their collection of frog cards -

Why slim? Who said it can be only Gringotts and not Gringotts with other DA buildings? -

That is right. I remember that interview and how pathetic it souded to me, because clearly making set based on murder and torture scene (aka graveyard) is more in line with their kid friendly values :DDD -

Tbh I am so happy we are getting this version of trio minifigures with dirt on their torsos…it only shows us that ppl behind this theme can still care when it comes to new minifigure designs. These sort of battle damaged versions will be great for recreating some action scenes from POA, although I think there is a big chance we will get them again in Shrieking Shack set if there is gonna be one next year. -

It isnt a lot taller but it is still taller than other DA buildings and as BrickBob Studpants said it is also a lot wider. On average regular DA building had like 1370 pieces, Gringotts would have over 2,5k. So yeah price is not the problem really even with only 3 buildings as few people here mentioned. I wish there were set names leaked already to prove if I am wrong or not, but sadly we will wait months for that, specially for D2C set. -

Yes, only 3 buildings (plus big dragon) but in pieces it would be bigger than 2020 DA set, which would make for that price... You have to realize that Gringotts would be probably 2 times the size of regular DA building. -

Huh? Big Gringotts building with dragon, Leaky Cauldron with brick wall entrance, Borgin & Burkes with a bit of Knockturn Alley would easily make $470 set for me. All of them pretty iconic, in fact more iconic than half of buildings included in 2020 DA set :D If that wasnt enough they could add Madam Malkins shop to make it more colorful, but I think it would be already at 6000+ pieces without it, considering Gringotts and even Leaky Cauldron should be bigger than regular DA buildings. -

I like some of his videos, but I dont like that he is trying to make himself look like he knows more than general Lego fans. He often puts "(some set) confirmed?" into his thumbnails and then I am like did I miss something? But when I watch it, he just repeats stuff from some older interviews with designers, add some of his opinions and predictions and that is it. But still I find it interesting how even other more known Lego HP youtubers are almost sure it is Gringotts, like I am not ready to be disappointed again :D -

Yeah, I am starting to be suspicious that they know something more, because until now I thought all of them were just guessing that it is Gringotts, but now some of them sound as if they had some sources claiming it is indeed Gringotts. Topic Bricks also made video on this where he was like 100% sure it is Gringotts, so now I am not sure if I can be hyped for it or not. -

Anyways despite my doubts I really hope they dont ruin the big playscale set potential of this D2C this time. -

I am not into motorized trains but those we got in the past, mostly in Lego City are nowhere near to the price of 470 dollars, so it just sounds a bit crazy, even if it is a licenced theme. But it is possible if Lego wants to target older customers like they do with UCS Star Wars sets. -

They wouldnt sell motorized Hogwarts Express for that much. Can you imagine the backlash from parents of all those kids who always wanted motorized Hogwarts Expressed like the og one from 2004? Nah they would make it more affordable I think. -

Look, as far as we get new detailed minifigures or even better, some new characters and at least one decent set in this wave like Hogsmeade this year I will be fine. At this point I keep my expectations rly low but of course I would welcome Shrieking Shack and 2nd task set :) -

After 2021 I doubt. 470 dollars is way too much for just Gringotts, I could only imagine it being Gringotts and 2 more DA buidings. Otherwise DA 2020 scale Gringotts building alone would be like 200 dollars or 250 max set. It is most likely something we never asked for and will never expect like with Hogwarts icons this year. It is also too expansive to be something like motorized Hogwarts Express so yeah I dont expect it to be minifigure scale but I would be positively suprised if I am wrong. It wouldnt make any sense. Yes, I know Gringotts is bigger than other DA buildings but not by that much, so it either is multiple buildings or more likely again something we wont even guess. -
I understand why some of you dont like exclusive minifigures in books but from Lego marketing point of view it is very smart move. If they put there some reused casual Harry or any of trio minifigures nobody except kids would want it, but once it is exclusive minifigure (even new character) they can be damn sure that this book will sell extremely well because not only kids, but also older Lego collectors and fans will buy it.
-
I mean yeah for sure he would be cheaper if we got him in Lego set but I dont think he would go under 10 euro if he would be in bigger set. Anyways I am very happy about this minifigure as it looks very accurate.
-
Well yeah because moments sets sell kinda poorly so the minifigures are cheap. But also this is first version of character we have never gotten before so it will be naturaly more rare no matter if it comes in set or book. cries in buying LOTR minifigures from retired sets which go from for like 40+ euro ... Jokes aside, I am one of those people who bought that book for 20 bucks only because of Tom Riddle minifig and had zero regrets but I guess not everyone is so obsessed with getting every minifigure as me :D
-
It definitely is new, he even has Hogwarts prefect badge which is absolutely nuts
-
It is not a pain rly. Everyone can afford a book for 10-20 bucks. I like that Tom Riddle in previous book stayed exclusive because it adds a bit of prestige to it for minifigures collectors like me.

I 100% agree with what you said about the new Clock Tower. If I treat it as generic Hogwarts set then I somehow like it but as a representation of the Clock Tower it is terrible and it looks nothing like it, not even basic shape of it. Only interiors I found better in 2021 sets than in 2018+ sets were Polyjuice Potion mistake set and Lockharts classroom and cabinet from CoS set. I already built the Hospital Wing set based on leaked photos and I used it as generic parts of the castle.
-
If you dont think of it as the Clock Tower from movie it is actually decent set, it has 4 new minifigures and the design for 1st floor is interesting. On the other hand 2019 Clock Tower is really superior to this poor version :D
-
Yes, I think there is a very decent chance we get minifigure scale D2C set next year, might not be Gringotts tho.
