  1. This looks great, well made (only the lower door area looks a bit cluttered to me), and I like that you did something non-conventional for the front suspension. Also, I like the HoG and shifter being routed to the back for easier playability.
  2. Interesting line of thought, though I am not sure that would happen. First, RB is not only B models, many models are not alternates. Second, but most importantly, the quality of builds. Currently, there is no quality check of builds and instructions, and I guess many of them are not up to TLG's standards. If they were to promote alternate models, they'd probably want to check their quality first, and that would put quite some amount of burden on them, which they might not want to afford. Also, alternate models are coming out continuously for a set, so they could not just pick 1-2 good ones for each set that easily, as there is no set development window for them, and continuously monitoring them would be quite a burden I guess. I totally agree that most of these are not really visible to the bigger public, which is a pity.
  3. That B model was epic. I did not own the set, but attempted to build that B model several times. Same with 8868 B model. Back then they made a lot of sense. But the last B model I built was that of 42070, which was pretty lame. Having that said, I am not sure I miss B models that much today. I build C models anyway :)
  4. Curiously following this, because this would have been my idea as well (maybe that's what's closest to an off-roader :) ) but I am not pursuing it due to lack of time.. Interested in the mechanics of the suspension as well.
  5. I think parts are regular blue and neon yellow. Was also thinking that the front rim is new in that color.
  6. I also tend to believe it really is a 45 degree offset variant, because if it was not, the grabber would be VERY asymmetric, that would not work.
  7. Looks cool and functional! The green is good, and I like that they mix in studful slopes, works well with small panels. Interesting gear pack :)
  8. That was my first impression too, but not sure if it's just the angle of the photo. The box does not show that you have to tilt it. On the other hand, it does not have a HoG either. I thought it's something functional, but you are probably right that it just opens the panel. It's okay for a mini set. Is this car transporter scale?
  9. This is a cute little one, and nice functionality :) That looks interesting indeed! It's written on the sides. It models an electric garbage truck. But the model itself is not electric. That's how marketing megablocks works.
  10. So it's set to 2.1A and it goes up to 2.2A, that's only 5% overshoot. Until how much does it go up if you set it exactly to 2A? Does it actually shut down the Buwizz unit? You only said it overloads the motors, what does that mean?
  11. What do you mean? There's a U-joint going into Earth from underneath, that's for spinning it.
  12. Is the stock level 2A? Did you try setting it explicitly to 2A? It definitely seems to be exceeding 2A, so it's either not set there, or the limiting mechanism is allowing it to go above 2A quite a bit (about 10%). Would be great to know which.
  13. There's a 7-wide frame under it, based on that I'd guess 9L in diameter. And the Earth sphere looks like 5L.
  14. What are those weird animal wing-like orange panels on the top? Is that from another theme, or something new?
  15. Hats off for achieving such authentic looks and smooth functioning with RC pneumatics! I'd be interested in how you squeezed in 4 motors, 2 auto-valves and the hub in there. Any internal details?
  16. This. On the other hand, technic parts do seem to fit the theme well I think.
  17. I think the mechanical aspect of this one will be interesting, cool that they use 3 different sizes of rings, are any of those new? Wonder what else they plan to use all those (half) balls for..
  18. Unfortunately I don't think so, the whole assembly is at least 13 but rather 15 wide, so 6L links will do just fine.. On the other hand it has Ackermann steering geometry implemented in front of the axle by moving the steering point outer than the pivot point (actually it seems to be 2 studs outer, which is way too much). I guess they only did it just to be able to use those 6L links (which is just lame)..
  19. This looks really great, the chassis and suspension geometry is really clean and elegant! You really did dig deep into the subject! It's great to read. I like how you simplified it all and it became so lightweight, really can see the tubular structure, which is usually not the case with lego builds. Those wheel hubs are interesting, especially the ones designed for floating axles. Can you show some close-up images of those when not mounted? Do they work with U-joints when driven? Where do you get these? Also the rear ones are interesting. Is that big block in the middle the 3d printed mount of the motor? Do you have more pictures? Is the planetary reduction part of it or is that not 3d printed? Do you have a file for it?
  20. Beautiful one, looks great as usual! I like that even the rear doors are openable.
  21. That roadmap did not contain too much actual information anyway, at least for Technic and PU components in general. Basically they only said there will be new products and new features. That could mean anything.
  22. Indeed! And I see two reasons behind it. One is that CADA is not afraid of heavily mixing technic and system parts, uniting the strengths of both worlds (functionality and looks). The other is that CADA seems to be faster at innovating new parts, some of them that are obvious candidates for the technic palette and should have been introduced long ago when there was a slight need for it, instead of trying to avoid them and working around them with clumsy builds, which happens a lot in Lego sets.
  23. Sounds interesting, thanks! Will you reveal more info about the internals here? Also, in the steering system of the crane, I think I see a 3-way T shaped axle-pin connector connected to the steering rack, is that right @efferman?
  24. Wow, great models! @efferman that crane is pretty massive! I like the simplicity of the suspended axles and the steering linkage solution. Am I right to spot a 5L link there? What other interesting new CADA exclusive parts are there in all these models?
  25. Wow, that's pretty cool, works really well, I guess it's just a matter of the right balancing. But it's great that it also leans in and starts to orbit.
