  1. I mean since the inception of this theme we’ve received comic inspired sets. Mostly for Spiderman, all I’m asking is to branch out to other properties. I pose the question seriously and I hope to hear from several other users, if Lego were to make a comic wave for heroes like Thor and the Guardians such as I request, 1) would you yourself be interested in such a set and 2) d you reckon such sets would sell well? My reasoning is the MCU made these characters so popular, audiences would most likely appreciate them in a different interpretation.
  2. Completely agree. Its high time these claws were produced. Want them for Cheetah and Beast as well. some thoughts, assorted • The new Carnage head bust is actually so well made, a part of me almost wants to buy it. I typically only go for system scaled playsets but this one really caught my eye. • As for the Advent calendar, I’m not into these at all but hope for the ones who like these that there are some creative decisions made with the figures as these are all figures we’ve gotten before • For the final battle I hope Thor gets a new hair mould. No existing mould really captures the style they gave him in EndGame. Wishing Captain America comes in a battle damaged suit and possibly his broken shield. Could have seen Scarlet Witch swapped with maybe Wong or Wasp with a new helmet mould. Funny Black Panther gets a new mould I think Wasp is more in need of one. •Hoping Shuri comes with her bright chest plate and dark purple suit with that olive skirt printed on her. We already got her orange fit considering its end game I see them using her dark purple and olive green suit. I could also see her getting a new hairpiece since Shuri’s hair in the films is actually long and they gave her a short hair piece. • fingers crossed either this Series is mixed MCU/comics or we get a second comic based series. I understand the MCU fans need to be pleased but I have hope the company won’t leave people like me in the dust. I mean SE sets could easily be labeled comic sets and we just got comic versions of Rescue, Captain Marvel, Modok and Thor. Hopefully Lego produces more waves like that, that give comic designs in years dominated by cinematic properties. Interesting that 2020 was the first year in a decade without a Marvel movie that’s most likely why we finally got a “comics” set. • Dream Daily Bugle figure selection: Spiderman, Peter Parker, J Jonah Jameson, 3 journalist figures, 1 secretary, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, Lizard or Rhino big fig, (realistically we would only get 1 new big fig and that is also most likely not even on the table), Shocker, Electro, Daredevil, Elektra, Bullseye, Punisher, Black Cat, Doc Oc (Into the Spiderverse), Kingpin (again as an option to replace Rhino/Lizard, but would honestly gladly accept two new big fig moulds), Green Goblin, Morbius, Hydro-Man why 22 figures? Well Ninjago City had 20 figures and I’m hoping this is Marvel’s first big set with a lot of figures. If an extra building is included I also hope its a residential building with either Mary Jane’s or Peter’s apartments.
  3. I would kill for a $70 Chemo set featuring the metal men. I would love sets for the Metal Men and Doom Patrol but sadly it will never happen.
  4. Not trying to nit pick but Killer Frost has been depicted with blue skin probably more than she’s been depicted as a normal looking human. There’s something to be said that her shade was a little dark and her printing inconsistent as well as a boring design choice considering how many eye catching designs she’s had over the years. As for the Teen Titans it was definitely a nod to the original cartoon with the design choices and the airing of TTG is certainly a factor in why they chose to go that route. I’m honestly shocked we haven’t had a Teen Titans wave its honestly one of my dreams for this theme. Considering the popularity of the 2007 cartoon with the current airing of TTG and the CW Titans as well as the popular yet highly critiqued show Young Justice having a size-able fanbase, I expected far more content for the team than we’ve received thus far. I’m hoping we get a full Teen Titans wave one day. A lot of characters I want to see in more than one costume (Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, Arsenal etc), many new Titans to see (Mrs. Martian, Terra, etc) and new villains (Mammoth, Jinx, Gizmo, etc) . Several builds I want in official Lego form (Brick built Trigon, T-Jet, Titans Tower, HIVE centered builds etc). Maybe one day.
  5. On that note it could be argued that the 2012-2014 Spiderman sets were either heavily or directly influenced by the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon. The 2014 Avengers sets were also very clearly drawing from the cast of Avengers Assemble. So indirect tie ins have already been made, besides the labels these sets were clearly inspired by those shows. Which I guess sets a precedent for superhero shows receiving sets or at least have some of their more recurring characters (Nova, Power Man, Iron Fist, White Tiger) appear in sets despite the sets having a “mixed” source of influence.
  6. Read this article on bgr.com about the leak of the first X-Men project for the MCU. According to the illuminerdi and a separate source coming from Charles Murphy, a website and a leaker both claimed to be reputable by bgr, again feel free to fact check all of this if the sources aren’t satisfying but according to these 3 sources the name of the first X project has leaked as “the Mutants”. I believe the Fantastic Four are being introduced in 2024 and I’m expecting the first mutant film no sooner than 2025. Nonetheless this time frame is very soon and I wonder if their introduction to the MCU means we can start seeing Lego merchandise for them. It hasn’t happened yet and we will definitely get sets from the movies but I’m excited for new X-Men content. the only properties to receive both MCU and comic sets have been the Avengers and Spiderman. I hope we can one day get a comic wave for both Thor and the Guardians as well as other Avengers. I have hope the CMF series will be a mixed bag and I pray we get a few mutant gems in there.
  7. How did you forget Lizard and Black Cat.
  8. Unlikely but the dominance of the MCU in the CMF series had me wishing we would just get comic Thor, Punisher/Daredevil, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men sets to cover the characters I want to see. Its a fever dream but I would love to see it happen.
  9. Marvel will definitely get 2 or more series, hopefully down the line we’ve covered enough MCU to branch out. I guess thats the peace I have is knowing this theme will get a cmf series 2 but would this series be enough to cover the missing ground for the MCU?
  10. Wonder the odds of another building being included. The Assembly Square sold for $270 and had 3 buildings. Maybe this could also be a generally nice NYC facade. edit: really don’t want them to use the Gamora/Widow/Supergirl/Black Canary/Storm/Jessica Cruz/everybody else hair piece at all in this set. Not on Gwen, not on Mary (actually would love a red print to a hair mould that has yet to be made in red, I want new red hairpieces), not on Black Cat or anybody else. Please. Maybe on a journalist figure if we’re going to get some. Actually on that note hoping for a few civilian figures. I could easily see this breaking the mould of Marvel D2C’s with a handful of minifigures.
  11. Except thats not at all what I said. You’re misinterpreting my statement. I am not saying there is nothing left, that was a request to be REMINDED of what was left. If I’m having a hard time making a compelling series using MCU designs I’m asking for help. For a few things, I’m trying to see how many MCU series we need u til we cover the missing cast, and I’m trying to see what the designs of the missing characters looks like. I literally said I wasn’t being antagonistic but I was failing to remember the names. I’m not going to apologize you either take my comments as they are or stay mad over your misunderstanding.
  12. Excited because I love comic sets a little bored because I’m not sure I can expect any new characters or moulds. Edit: This would be a good time to give us Black Cat and Shocker as neither require new moulds. Fingers crossed for an updated Mary Jane Watson and possibly a Gwen Stacy figure. And for the love of god either give Black Cat the new Hermione hair in white or the She-Hulk hair in white I really don’t want that annoying hair piece they use on every female character.
  13. I would hope so. One set is not enough to fully flesh out even 3 buildings and with huge landmarks like Oscorp, Stark Tower, The Daily Bugle, Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Sanctum Santctorum, there are plenty of huge and detailed buildings used by heroes, villains and supporting characters in Marvel comics that there could be a lone of modular NYC sets made. Similar to how Lego is expanding Ninjago City. I would hope this is the case and I’d buy it but I am pretty sure if it is an NUC build it will come with MCU designs.
  14. The use of the word anxious was honestly more of a poor choice of word. Its more accurate to say I get disappointed after seeing the lists as opposed to saying I anxiously await them. And yes there is other DC merch but this specific brand is so unappealing I wish they’d stop making it altogether. I’m just saying I prefer no product over a bad product
  15. I honestly want this theme to end soooooo bad. I really want this theme to be cancelled. I would rather have no sets than anxiously await the set list every year just to find the same concepts and figures except with less detail and with less product values. This theme is so bad I’d rather get nothing than what we currently get.
  16. Honestly wish they’d just release all the missing figures in legacy sets over putting them in the CMF series bc MCU legacy sets are much more likely to be made over Inhuman, Young Avengers, Daredevil, and Punisher sets. I’m starting to really lose hope in the likelihood of receiving comic variants of existing figures let alone obscure comic characters. Sigh
  17. The vast majority of these are civilian suits and slight alterations to pre-existing figures. Whatever I don’t want to sound cynical or stubborn but this list basically confirms how unappealing an MCU series would be for me no matter the content. I’m just sad we’re most likely getting repeat characters with civilians clothes and supporting cast in business outfits over exciting comic characters of which there are decades worth of material to choose from that also get overlooked in the sets. The only relieving thing about the legacy wave was the assumption the CMF series would be comic based as a result. This is a humongous disappointment and I’m honestly really not excited about this year bc of the MCU CMF series.
  18. Thats why I want the D2C to be Asgard, it could easily cover the missing Thor figures. Alexander Pierce is a blonde man in a suit and definitely do not want him over a colorful Dark Phoenix or Daredevil figure. Rumlow crossbones and stealth suit cap would also be easy to hold off on until our next legacy wave or honestly just in polybags. I could see the cap coming in the new hydra set. With a list like that I’m still convinced the missing MCU suits would be best received in legacy sets or polybags and the cmf series will be a major disappointment if its not comic based or at least mixed. For me at least.
  19. I mean if the D2C is Asgard that would cover the missing Thor characters. The legacy wave seems to be broad enough to cover some of the most popular missing suits. The rest is just alternate versions of pre-existing characters and civilian costumes. Thats so boring. I am once again asking MCU fans to tell me who’s missing? Not trying to be antagonistic but seriously please list the missing MCU designs because, and this is especially true now with the legacy wave, i cannot think of who’s missing.
  20. I hope this means its a mixed bag and not an MCU series. I really want comic versions of so many characters I was so excited for the legacy wave because it was an opportunity to cover the missing designs. I can tolerate no comic sets but an MCU CMF series is where I start getting disappointed. Like actually kind of upset at this news. Whatever this theme is so popular I’m sure eventually we will get comic designs. My fear is if the MCU goes nowhere our years will remain packed with movies with no wiggle room for the comics. I’m almost positive we’ll get multiple Marvel CMF’s but this one better cover everything MCU because as a comics fans I feel starved.
  21. For that exact reason the scene is so easy to recreate. All we need is a Gwen Stacy figure. I prefer her coming in a set vs the CMF series. And on that note I hope Lego is smart about the figure choices in this CMF series. Looking at our first Superhero cmf series, Rebirth Superman was a design that could easily have been put in a set (well maybe not considering DC doesn’t get normal sets anymore) and I would have preferred seeing the Red Sun suit instead. Huntress also felt like a wasted slot in some ways. I hope Lego gives us figures that come from properties not usually touched by Lego Marvel. Like the X-Men, Inhumans, Young Avengers and not supporting characters of heroes who receive plenty of sets. For that same reason I want no Spidey villains. He gets so many waves they can save a comics Electro for a set.
  22. I wish it was! I’d love a $300 completed bridge with destructing play features, but still finished at both ends. The death of Gwen Stacy happened on a bridge, and it was Green Goblin who killed her on his flyer. I would love a $300 Death of Gwen Stacy as unlikely as it is. But that set always reminded me of that comic for its choice of location and villain.
  23. Thoughts 43111 - Candy Castle - Very excited loved the Candy Mermaid but this should have been a much bigger set. I’m guessing at $30 it’ll be a colorful facade very reminiscent of Cloud Cuckoo Land. Not expecting to love it as much as I would if it were an actual castle. 43112 - Robot Car - I have my reservations, I’d love to see a futuristic approach to a vehicle similar to General Grievous’s wheel bike. A regular car is a hard pass 43113 - Stage - Has potential but it also seems easy to brick up 43114 - Pirate Ship - Interested somewhat. Considering the musical theme I can see them incorporating musical notes into the architecture or something creative. As weird and unappealing as the app is (for me, an AFOL) and strange and experimental the theme as a whole feels, I still find the figures highly desirable and the concepts creative as heck. I could see this being a pleasant surprise and I hope it is. 43115 - Stereo - what? Literally what? This large set should be the Candy Castle and a stereo should have been $30. Literally this sounds like such a waste
  24. Thoughts on the new info • Didn’t think Black Panther needed a new mould but I’m not mad at it. Really lost as to what they’re going to do. • The $150 set is the Infinity War GotG ship. I believe this is the D2C? Honestly the cinematic costumes for Gamora and Drax bore the living hell out of me. The ship was an indistinguishable silhouette in space as my mind was focused on the plot but I assume its significance will increase as its used more in the MCU. The design is not really that far off from the Milano from previous films but it is noticeably different, not interested in the least but I mean someone will enjoy it. • Infinity War final battle should hopefully bring some portals. Recreating the moment all the heroes barged in is so epic. Gonna bet some of the alien ships Thanos brought are going to be included. • 76191 is described as an Infinity Marvel playset. Curious to see if it connects to the final battle for Endgame as the user who uploaded the info to instagram also referred to the Endgame Final Battle as “Infinity Marvel”. Could be Infinity War but he did use the phrase for the endgame set too. We’ll see • Iron Monger - Finally! I don’t even want this set but for some reason really wanted to see it made as that was the most obvious choice for a build from that first movie. Fans will love this I think. With all these MCU sets I hope the comic series is not MCU based. Reading lists of fans who wanted MCU cmf series and almost every figure on that list has already been released in some ways really killed my spirit. I wanted new characters! Well hopefully you all enjoy your Iron Man variants in the sets because I still believe comic designs are whats truly lacking for most heroes and they would be the most appealing in CMF form.
