LEGO Ninjago 2022
a guy from somewhere replied to Gangikhan448's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice catch! I've been going back and forth on getting it, I own the Lloyd fig from the magazine and i can make a pretty accurate crystallised Harumi, although Vangelis is no longer around. I own a crystal king from the temple set (found it for £40 at my local toy store, amazing price, decent build but I still dont think its worth £80), so I'd be buying it just for the build itself. I dont think ill get it at this point (need to focus on other sets/themes), but I've heard its the golden standout of this wave. Does it hold up without the figs? -

Does anyone own the city of lanterns/monkey king warrior mech and the creator noodle shop set? I believe the buildings are compatible, with the same footprint and I'd like to see what they look like together. I'm also thinking the noodle shop could integrate pretty well into a ninjago city block. Hopefully we see the sets soon, I think this week will be it, but as MK is a lego exclusive, it may take more time than the other themes. Really want to be hyped for the static base set however I dont want to be disappointed. Best case scenario is basically a "pod pack" that contains like 6 containers, they can be stacked and rearranged, and theres a bedroom, kitchen, living area, utility/eating place container, armoury/base container and finally a vehicle that is stored in the last one (like how the cloud jet was effectively stored in one in the show). This would be my dream set, although I doubt this would ever happen. Maybe I just need to BrickLink the parts for all the containers we've got so far, mod the ones that make up structures (like the HQ and van) and then build my own. Speaking of which, just out of interest has anyone modded their HQ set from the first wave? I'm wondering what I can do with it, and my plans currently are to elongate the front, and add the helm section for sandy thats in the show and goes under the watch tower. Any MK set mods in general would be cool to see. -

Maybe look for alt builds, or if you have the talent, build a MOC with the parts. I could see a tech based tank or maybe a mobile base, or maybe 4 smaller vehicles coming from it. To be fair, it has some decent parts. But I agree, the build was a complete disaster and I’m kinda sad it’s been forgotten. It really should be up there with the destiny’s bounty and monastery, as staple Ninjago sets. Thinking of which, we need another samurai X cave at some point, an updated one, although if the current Ninjago era is over then it will probably be off the table. -

Hmmm crab suit doesn’t look bad, but still too small for my liking. The whale on the other hand is worse to me now. The fins look way to mechanical and they don’t have enough range of movement, as does the body. I love the specialised parts but the use of grey and technic around them kinda breaks the illusion and the flow of the organic creature. It does look bigger in person, I’ll give them that, but it’s still way to much money for the 2 builds. Lotta space to throw a minifig in the mouth as well, overall I definitely think it’s the 3rd or 2nd weakest set of the wave (nothing is saving that reef, apart from a deep discount maybe. The other sets are all pretty good. The whale is fine, there’s just others that are better). I’m Surprised at how much I like the smaller sets. The ilu and the skim wing both look like good builds and display models that both have prominence in the film, going if the trailers anyways. And the mako sub is a bit of a weird one for me. It feels overpriced, and obviously the design is a bit all over the place with the open sides, and I personally believe it should be swapped with the crab suit, we haven’t seen it in any footage yet and it’s side builds are massive. But it does have quaritch and spider, 2 characters who seem to be very fluid with their alliances, and I’m a massive fan of the in universe sub. -

Actually your right, I believe it is slated as an evergreen theme. So what does that mean? This is based off the JTTW book, so eventually they come to the end of the book? Or maybe they just keep going, keep inventing things. As long as MK sticks around, im happy. I really need to get a way to get these sets though, I barely shop online at lego and annoyingly its the only place where they are sold in the UK! -

Hope they get revealed soon so we can confirm. Let me go check promobricks’ review. Yeah they’re gold damn it! They’d better pull something wild out of their hat for summer. I’m expecting crystalized scale figure detailing. -

At least we get spares in the current core sets, but I agree, it’s definitely a shame if we are getting stock katanas now. -

Yeah I hope the prices are a little better than crystalized, especially as the core ninja are being reused. I’m still worried that they will put the brick box to £55, i damn well hope not as it looks to be a good source of parts for temples, which I love building, however that and the mech rider (please don’t be £40, please!) are definitely getting me scared. I’m also hoping the earth dragon isn’t £35 as well as that’s a price I’ve seen thrown around, it really should be at that weird £27 price tag. -

Couple of leakers (the good guys) have hinted at this coming week being the reveal week. We sit tight till then. -

I’d definitely recommend the dragon. The car is great but I prefer its “stage 2” design over its “stage 3” EVO mode, which if you’re going to have it like that means extra parts. The dragon is a beautiful chunky build that best compares to first born, and even then the dragon is different enough. The wings are the worst part, with them having the weird mechanism, however it doesn’t detract from display. The head is a work of art, truly an incredible build, and you get a cool snake turret. -

Well, Black Friday UK is a massive disappointment. It’s just the sets that are either retiring soon, or just aren’t selling, like the eternals stuff for the remnants of vidyo, with a couple of Icons thrown in. 2 monkie kid sets (the ones that aren’t selling and have been on sale before) and 1 Ninjago set, the training ground. No gardens, no city of lanterns. Considering years past, this is a massive miss IMO. -

Agreed on above, I love when forums get a massive up boost, just fans talking about lego. I really hope we can see them soon as well, we know theres 5 sets, we've seen 1, got names for 2 others and that leaves 2 more. I'm kinda concerned that its only 5 sets, smaller than this years wave I believe, hopefully this isn't the end of the journey. -

Not me replying to this as fast as possible to disprove the point (fighting a losing battle anyways I think) Maybe some discord servers, although they can be a bit hit or miss, I dont really use them, although I'd like to know if there are any other forums, but eurobricks has always been the the big one, in terms of forums anyways. It also doesn't help that monkie kid in particular isn't very popular in the west ( I take it most of us here are from the americas and Europe) and there also is only 5 people following this 2022 forum. Speaking of which, maybe a 2023 page is in order. its also unlikely that the stars align and a frequent eurobricks user is also a monkie kid fan, and such we are few and far between. We get the occasional guest like 1414falconfan, who gives us leaks or corrects info, but thats about it. would love to see some more activity though, maybe a push for this is in order. -

I’ll keep my eye out, it’s a great set but as I already own one (plus the price hike, I thought £275 was already pushing it) I can’t justify getting a copy right now. As for sets last year, we saw jay and nyas race car on the 1st of December, followed by the rest of the wave on the second. So hopefully next week, we get to see them in full. -

I'm gonna be honest, 2023 ninjago just feels really stale at the moment. I hope lego 'officially' reveals the sets soon, I don't know why they're taking their time. We have set pictures, ones that gives us good views of all of the sets, but lego is just delaying it now, and I'm not seeing the point. I want to see more pictures, I want to see the big youtubers talk about the sets, I want to know about the set features and their prices. I want to see some hype surrounding this theme after the drawn out (kinda) disappointing finale of crystallised. I'm excited for these sets and January 1st can't come fast enough. I'll check when the sets where added last year to the lego page, but I'm hoping we see them before December 1st at least, as the sets themselves look amazing, but the fact that we just aren't seeing these sets in their full glory leaves me underwhelmed. On another note, whats the chance that ninjago city gardens goes on sale for half of on Black Friday? I'm really hoping that it does, despite already owning the set I'd love to get another one as it will provide lots of parts and lots of civilian figures for my own city project I'm constantly adding to. -

This is perfect, I really hope we see this in the show. I know the writers are pretty good at hinting for future things, and not forgetting important details. I was 100% convinced that the girl LBD possesses would be completely forgotten at the end of season 3 but no, she did come back. Maybe a new friend of the team as well, that could be interesting. anyways if time travel is where we are going, I cant wait! Really hoping we see the new sets soon, that MK base sounds really exciting. Please for the love of god let it be a shipping yard or something container based! -
Lego Avatar 2022/3 - Rumors & Discussion

Agreed, I felt like there was an alright balance between the RDA and Navi in the first wave as there was only 4 sets, but considering how much new tech is shown of in the trailers and on-set photos (the picador, sea dragon, sea wasp, heavy Samson, crab suit, and the MAKO subs), I think the execution of what we got (RDA wise) was less than fine. As I've said before, the crab suit and mako sub should have been swapped, with the mako accompanying the Tulkan. I'm hoping if we get a summer wave that we see a sea wasp or Samson, as I think the jet boats are a bit too close to current military vessels, unlike a VTOL quad rotor whale spotter, or a crab mech suit, or a massive mothership hydrofoil. at least the AMP suits are back, so I guess we got an extra avatar set, although I still think the cockpit looks awful. -

Just a heads up, new trailer on its way. Sadly its coming out at 1:15 in the morning in the UK which sucks, but the folks across the pond will be happy. I'm personally hoping for more RDA focus, I desperately want to see the bridgehead city and the new vehicles. -

Agreed, I am loving the look of the ice dragon. It’s a beautiful creature and sort of reminds me of the massive bewilderbeast dragon from HTTYD 2, if anyone remembers that classic. The head especially. I also love the new wing parts, and the figs are great, and I’m even somewhat inclined to disagree with promobricks when they say it’s too expensive, I think for the size and detail of the dragon itself I think it’s worth it, but only just. -

Whats the current exchange rate on VIP points? My accounts gonna be wiped soon as its fudged up, but I got about 2300 points left. Haven't used VIP in ages, so i'm not too sure and I know they made changes before to stuff. Any smaller ninjago sets people would recommend? -

I agree, although personally Im hoping for a pickup truck. I know the red one is still out but I would love for a Toyota hillux or tacoma, something that can be a base model that can be modded for anything. I'm a big fan of overloading, it would be great having a lego base to work out custom designs. Oh well, a guy can dream... -

I'd agree that yes, some stuff is repetitive, and the fact that its core doesn't help the creativity argument, but you cant deny, some of these sets are pretty interesting. the mech riding a motor bike is pretty unique, only thing I can remember coming close to was that one bionical set, and the titan mech is unlike any other lego mech, bar maybe some exe force stuff. -

@Agent Kallus, as I cant make a reply there, my apologies for the 2023 thread being on front-page, as I said, first time making a thread, despite me being here a while. Lyichir is probably more qualified to do this anyways! As for the sets, honestly really hyped for the smaller stuff. I think its great that we are getting some cheaper sets in a decent price range, although I'm scared to hear the English pricing. Here are my predictions - Jays jet and Kais car EVO - £8.99 Lloyds mech battle EVO - £17.99 Coles dragon EVO - I'm hoping for £25 but will most likely be £29.99 with that American price Kai's mech rider EVO - again, I'm hoping for around £35 but it will probably be £39.99 like Coles dragon cruiser from crystalized. Ninja brick box - probably £54.99 (ouch, thats expensive!) Jays titan mech - could be either £79.99 or £69.99, hoping for the latter. maybe a compromise at £74.99? Zanes ice dragon - £89.99 Lloyds motor bike - £8.99 Nya's water dragon - £17.99 Again, these are all predictions based of the American prices and how lego has priced the crystallised sets. take these with a grain of salt, and nothing is confirmed. -

I wonder when we will get the HD pics of the sets now, as they seem to be being sent out and the friends stuff was put up yesterday. hopefully soon. I really want to see the mech in detail, I love the set but the chest feels far to open and hollow, which personally Im not a fan of. One shot at the chest and the mech is no longer a problem! Could do with some more armour. -

On amazon as well, I have been considering getting some but i'd like to save for the new wave and ninjago 2023 is looking good, as is monkie kid!
