Well I had to look up what Python is so... good luck with that! I can program a mean excel spreadsheet... when properly supervised by my wife.

Can I help with anything to get the results out on the street?

Congrats to all the winners and I am super happy to see BOBS thriving with a LOT of submissions! I've said before and say again, this is a really well built challenge, great job @Ayrlego and court for building it. I know the comment on digital builds isn't personal but also is specifically referencing my builds. So to start, @Faladrin, we are still good. Beyond my own use/enjoyment of digital building, I think it is a REALLY important way to remove a barrier-to-entry. Having enough bricks to really participate would be cost prohibitive to many who would/may someday otherwise be active members. As for "wars" I do think the war was a fun dynamic... sorta... I think it is a great fun exciting dynamic that REALLY stresses the game/system when it is player faction vs player faction. If we were all in a major war against an NPC I think that would be best of all worlds... maybe... at some point. I am glad the player "vs" player war is over.

Not only are my bricks STILL not here (along with the rest of my household goods) but now my laptop is busted and shipped off to be worked on... I can't even build digital bricks right now. Watching bad batch and counting down the seconds between Lego Masters episodes after everybody else goes to bed. @Ayrlego, I was typing this out simultaneously as you were asking if anybody wanted an extension. I wasn't quite panicking yet about the approaching deadline, but probably will be in a week. -

Both spellings all over the place. I figure the master account summary would be as close to an official list as we have to go off and that one says "Pilnton" so I will change it. @Ayrlego, I am only tracking 1 building licensed there and it was a @Bodi fort. But if we are all happy to now and forever call it Pilnton, is it possible to take a quick look to consolidate anything else under "Pilnton" -

Does anyone have the admin magic capability to transfer the write/edit permissions on a post? I am specifically wondering about settlement threads: Can we allow somebody else to edit a thread started by a player who has departed? Or, If I make a "Plinton Settlement" thread, can I or somebody else transfer the write/edit capabilities? -
This is exactly what I was aiming for. This post takes a hashed line on a big map and turns it into a very real location on the ground that Atwi and traders can understand. Inland from this spot is Atwi territory, this footprint and everything down the road to the coast is Oleon territory. One could stand on the tower in sovereign Oleon territory and throw rocks south-westerly into Atwi territory, though they would never do that. Noting the big arrow on the map, this isn't an attempt to "move" a boundary, just to show how we are all learning to live together and add fidelity to the map-drawn boundary that now needs to be translated to something agreed upon on the ground. "How the states got their shapes" or "How these countries got their shapes" I think is always neat history. This is a combo of a frontier outpost and a Flying J truck stop. Now that I'm looking at this, I should not have been surprised that this generated the discussion it did. I thought through this story a lot more in my head before writing any of it down. There is a lot that I reasoned out ahead of time and then started the narrative from a point of already having figured out and didn't expressly state. You bring up an interesting note about literal "bluecoats." I think it is appropriate for true blue coats to be guarding the embassy in King's Port, but in my mind, the default RNTC minifig has been in uniform and that isn't necessarily the right answer. The RNTC "has" troops, but isn't "all" troops. That said, I do think the RNTC would be sure to have a strong security presence at this frontier station.
-
This was a deliberate effort for a story and a build that is in the interior and also clearly supporting the growth of Nola Mar. Mines and plantations aren't consistently "in" settlements, so it seemed reasonable. I hope I laid it out well enough to count for Cat E and support Nola Mar, but leave it in the hands of the court. But more interesting, I specifically think the fuzzy line where sovereign modern states end and native tribal lands begin is a neat dynamic, a historically interesting thing, and a potential source for diplomatic turmoil if not managed deliberately. "For now" I think it is helpful for Oleon and the tribes to have a fixed point of reference for where Oleon ends and Atwi lands begin.

Settlement: Nola Mar, Terraversa - Oleon
CapOnBOBS replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
At the limits of Nola Mar's reach into the interior, the RNTC has established a large commercial way station, run by "Flying J" himself, to push the economic prowess of Oleon into the Atwi interior (Rebuilding TV Category E)- 12 replies

There is a point, well an area really, a fuzzy boundary where the sovereign lands of the Kingdom of Light dwindle into the shadows of the Atwi's interior. Along the main road leading inland from the crown's primary settlement in Terraversa, the City of Nola Mar, the RNTC has established a way station at the very frontier of the King's domain. To the North and East, civilization and his Majesty's grace. To the South and West, the ancient ways and ancient gods of the Atwi rule in their native lands. It is on this very edge of civilization, that the RNTC has established a large commercial structure from which they have projected their mercantile presence. The Way Station provides a bed-down location for trade caravans heading into and out from the Interior. A final stop to rest horses, make repairs, and collect provisions before heading into the Atwi interior. Not that relations aren't pleasant. Recognizing the mutual benefit of trade in both directions, good neighbors, and safety in numbers, the Atwi have built somewhat of a semi-permanent village, a way station of their own immediately outside the gates of the RNTC post. Station Master Jacoby, known across Oleon as "Flying J' for his speed on horseback, visits the Atwi daily to inventory mutual stockpiles, share a meal, and maintain relations with whichever chieftain happens to be in residence at the time. Though, he finds some of their ways barbaric, particularly as a man who grew up with a pet rabbit in his parent's chateau in Breshaun, he has come to appreciate their pure and simple lifestyle, even taking long lunches to learn a skill or practice some new words. But, as always, duty calls him back across the wall too soon. Wine to inventory, horses to saddle, books to keep, on and on. Today a call has gone out from the tower that an RNTC wagon train approaches. "More wine, we already have so much, and I wasn't expecting anything today" he mutters to himself as he turns back to the way station... his little keep... it reminds him of an old Knight's redoubt, before the cannon of course. The flags of his employer and the "boss's boss of course" flying outstretched in the steady breeze. His own little fiefdom of wine barrels and hay... and horse manure. Well some minor lord anyway. "Daydreaming aside, why the unannounced wagons... and why the escorts..." Then he spotted them, two chained up chests, subtle to see a pistol wielding guard straddling one of the chests, 'nothing to see hear folks..." Flying J had heard whispers of plans to start plying the powerful chiefs with silver. So here it was, the first shipment of silver into the interior. No wonder the wagons were unannounced, no wonder they were so heavily armed, no wonder they were stopping for the night. Can you imagine being out on the road after dark with that cargo.... too many Red Coats still on the island for that... and Green Coated mercenaries for that matter... and the pirates... and the rouge Atwi chieftains... and no shortage of highwaymen who found themselves on the wrong side of the peace treaty. "Well, get them in and get them bedded down!" Just another example of how Flying J's RNTC Way Station was the platform by which the RNTC beat the competitors to the Atwi markets.

Responding to @Ross Fisher saying, "somebody get this man some bricks!" With a few real world updates: 1. No sign of my bricks, bed, most of my clothes, etc yet. Hopefully all on a boat on the ocean and not hijacked by pirates. 2. I do have a new home though... and it is 5 minutes (exactly, not "oh about 5 minutes") from a "Bricks and Minifigs" where today I bought all 5 pieces of the white Friends ship hull. So, a new keel has been laid in the yard..... awaiting materials. 3. Medieval Blacksmith was back in stock, so thats on the way! -

A new addition to the Beauchamp Shipyard, a large commercial structure for administrative offices and logistics. -
"To be perfectly honest," Retired Admiral Girard Beauchamp reflected outloud to nobody in particular, but knowing that all were listening intently, "when I first saw the shipbuilding need and the dire strategic risk it placed the empire in, I'd only envisioned the dock space needed to build warships worthy of his majesty's navy. And now look at us..." he said, sweeping his arm over the balcony railing. "And it isn't just the works here along the Breshaun waterfront," he turned sharply back to the group, his speed had returned, as had the color in his face, but in truth, neither to the level they had been just months ago. "We had to build a plantation to procure masts, build a carpenter school to train the work force, every time I saw a gap, I found myself having to personally step in to fill it. Now we have a sawmill, iron mine, coal mine, rope factory. And not just building ships, we needed a drydock to repair." Which has all led to the need for a brain stem to control this monster. That is why we have now had to expand our administration, logistics, sales, contracts, supply, etc. into this "large commercial" build we are standing in today. At least from here, I have the best seat in the house for watching the ongoing construction. He turned back to the balcony and looked down into the yard where Master Shipwright Jean Benoît had cleared everyone away to personally guide the crane for the placement of a new mast. This is why Beauchamp had been so enthusiastic that Benoit join the team... he was always personally supervising the most difficult, dangerous, important, and critical elements of the build. His reward for all this was an expanded office space and the lion's share of the first floor in the new building to meet clients, manage the yard, and keep his volumes of old ship designs. As for managing the most important/dangerous detail of each build, today, it was not only the placement of the mast, but a chance to watch the new heavy crane team in action. So far... so good... but the gears, levers, counterweights, and bearings that brought the machine to life represented a huge investment and risk. Meanwhile, all around him, the normal buzz of the yard continued. A shipment of coal coming into the loading docks with the guards quickly locking the gates behind them. None of this distracts Benoit from the mast hovering over his head and the precariously perched crane team. The yard continues to expand. This section will be licensed as a large commercial build despite even though I added the new crane.

Again there is a ton to see in a small 16 x 16 build. I love the sculpture inset in the wall. I have really liked your pergolas in previous builds and I think you did a great job in a slightly smaller scale on this one.

Great job making art imitate life. Very cute little scene. The lego version has no water or greenery and looks very clean and pristine, the actual photo looks swampy and that takes this in a whole other direction for me. -
