  1. Boy every time this pops back up to the top of the pile I find something new to love about it. At first it was the mortar, then the platforms for the cannon wheels to recoil on, but I checked out your hidden shots and realized just how perfectly you captured the artillery fortress "modern style" here. I keep working on angles and slopes, and my latest project (not on here yet) is actually sunk about three bricks down into the ground to reduce the outward profile, but you nailed it! The rising elevation, the trenches, even the canalized crossing points back to the primary defensive line. You clearly have needed out on the historic examples and you really captured it beautifully. This could easily go in a museum as a diagram of how this was actually done.
  2. The Duke turned to COL Beauchamp, "Edward, what of the assassin?" "I have the traitor in my stockade awaiting his Court Martial..." Beauchamp began while pacing the antechamber, "He is not of my Regiment, but as I am responsible for the Crown's defenses of TV, I will ensure he has his day in court, but the notes from the Corries' second interrogation match our own. He proudly accepts responsibility for his act and only regrets being caught. His own admission is enough for the guillotine, but we shall see." The Duke nodded, "Well maybe he can fill in some details about his accomplises or this Lotii dossier before he lays his head on the chopping block. Keep me posted, now... back to the matter at hand..."
  3. Great little micro builds. I really appreciate the "similar enough... Yet different enough" bit. Any issue licensing? This merrymas... *Action sounds, explosion* Kurt Russell... *Cannon fire* "Escape from TV"
  4. Absolutely stunning, "not bad" for a "first foray into Stud.io." Great venue for the talks and love the idea of Red and Blue Coat troops working together to secure and clean up the place. Up on shore, Captain Gaspar of 1st Grenadiers is ordering food, wine, and other necessities for the attendees with the local RNTC agents.
  5. Large Artisan: Vineyard Of Light Wine Bar and RNTC Market.
  6. As North Sillitholina expands, the poor inhabitants have been thirsty. Luckily, RNTC's "Vineyard of Light" brand wine, now flows like... well wine... in North Sil. This large artisan section of North Sil's main street is now bustling as the vineyard's wine bar is always packed and other RNTC merchants hock their wares in market stalls. PIzza remains the perfect pairing for a bottle of Vineyard of Light wine. Bartenders stay busy, keeping orders flowing and keeping the bar well stocked. A sight one would never have expected, Red Coat and Blue Coat troops coexisting peacefully on the busy streets on North Sil. The tall, mustached, shako'd troops of the Garde de Grenadiers du 1er Régiment (1st Regt Grenadier Guards) are on official business, Captain Gaspar, Company Commander of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion coordinates with RNTC merchants for supplies for an upcoming expedition as well as some immediate necessities to support some upcoming conference. Corporal Winfield of the Corey garrison across the river is seeing the infamous grenadiers up close for the first time, he sizes them up from over the rim of his pie, "Bugger! Look at the size of those monsters! Glad we never had to face those beasts across the battlefield!" Sergeant Bottomtooth sips his wine, "Shut up Winfield! Just be thankful they will be on our side if it comes to fisticuffs against the Loti." Just having a bit of fun now that we are all living happily side by side. Large Artisan in North Sil for the RNTC.
  7. Not just very well done, but also very fun.
  8. Great builds, the plot thickens, tensions mount...
  9. Well I like it. I think I came out very well, taking the time to plank the deck with tiles I think always improves the final product. I would have liked to see a crew though.
  10. Congratulations winners!!! But great job all this was super good turnout!!
  11. Great and fun. Glad you are building together. We are still in the I build, she destroys phase
  12. Great "stonework" on the fort. What are the pieces just inside from the corners on the top on the left and right? Same one atop the small columns on either side of the door? Very fancy looking fort. I do love the Vauban angles on artillery fortresses, but always puts me on the dilemma of either making a realistic (huge, closed off, repetitive, bland) fort, or a fun lego build (playable, fun, interesting, etc). This is a real nice balance of the two.
  13. Mariachi guys seems to be feeling well, some color back in his face. I LOVE the kitchen, the ragout, very well done. Clever all around.
  14. The Royal survey of the island of Stéphanique continues as peace has returned to the Brick Seas. Outside the city of Lavalette mine shafts continue to be excavated in search of riches and strategic resources. As the tunnels stretch into the earth, candles provide dim light for the crews as they dig and haul rock to the surface to be inspected. Mining claim ATTN: @Ayrlego
  15. Immigrants from Carno have found familiar sites of home in Punto Sur. Despite the ties between Oleon and Carno, some have been drawn to the familiar scenes of Oktoberfest and set up farmsteads in the country outside the Eslandolan settlement. Keeping their traditional style, these immigrants have built a "Large Residence" that houses multiple generations and scores of farm animals that enjoy a quasi-pet status right up until meal prep time. Oktoberfest is the traditional harvest festival and neighbors are invited over to celebrate the harvest and to drink some of the yield as it were. Old friendships are renewed and new friendships forged over some barn brewed ale. Mischief abounds, as is often the case when ale is flowing. Par for the course during Oktoberfest, even out in the country. Large Residential buzzer beater (forum was down, I was getting nervous) for Oktoberfest Residence side of the challenge. @Capt Wolf this is licensed in Punto Sur bitte.
  16. Thanks for all the kind words shipmates. Yeah.... for real... the poor thing...
  17. I haven't found myself in this situation but am curious, is this "build it" a 1. Whole new ship? 2. Micro scale? 3. A MRCA outcome 16x16? Or 4. Something else?
  18. Another Large Factory, "The Twins" added to the Beauchamp Shipyard. This may be the last thing needed to upgrade Breshaun to a Grand City.
  19. Along the Breshaun waterfront in Le Bellan, the sprawling Beauchamp Shipyard has become a recognizable landmark. With the opening of twin blast furnaces to produce their own steel, the yard is now even more unmistakable to approaching ships. The latest "Large Factory" rounds out the initial frontage that Admiral Beauchamp had purchased for his grand vision. This latest segment expands pre-existing dock space and ship slips out into the harbor while also building up a rocky bar to park the new smelting operation. Never one to claim a humble nature, Retired Admiral Girard Beauchamp adorned the retaining wall facing the harbor with a massive family crest, no doubt celebrating his son, Edward, finally earning the family the noble title Girard had risked life, and lost limb, to gain. Despite the massive size of the yard, the activity and spendthrift use of space creates a small feel. You have to take a step back... And walk around the grounds... To truly get a sense... Of the actual size... Though the functions of the various structures change, there is consistency in the architecture that pulls the various pieces together into the Admiral's favorite of his many economic engines. Despite peace, the threat of war, the long under appreciated menace of the Loti, keeps the shipyard operating at max capacity. Necessitating the double barreled blast furnaces, commonly referred to as, "The Twins" in the yard. Bellow operators, shielded from the heat, keep jets of air firing into the crucibles through a complex pulley system. Up above, the raw materials, coal, iron ore, and sulphur, are carted up and layered into the molten slurry. Down below and on the opposite side, valves allow the pure steel to be poured out in a glowing orange goo into preset ingot molds. Once cool enough to stop glowing, but still hot enough that they would set a wooden table ablaze, they get a quick bath to temper the steel and are placed on polished stone cooling tables until hot, but not painful, to the touch before being placed in racks to await the blacksmiths. The flames leaping from the top of the chimneys provide an eerie glow as the sun sets and work continues to keep up with demand. NOTE1: This may be the last build needed to upgrade Breshaun into the Grand City that is most rightfully ought to be @Ayrlego. NOTE2: This has taken me over a year. Stats: 19,626 digital lego bricks, "Can be yours through Bricklink apparently for $11,639.96 except a number of bricks don't actually exist. 165 studs wide (1.3 M), by 93 studs long (.75 M), 60 studs high (.5 M). Would weigh 22.7 KG. It is my favorite.
  20. My wife is convinced I have enough Lego. I assure her I do not. Prime examples here, just dont have two more of those tiles. Also don't have enough white 2x2 2 sided slopes
  21. What an incredible build! The color scheme, the details on the building, the round rocks. Everything is so we'll done!!!
  22. Large educational build, King's College.
  23. "Such a Grand City as Breshaun clearly deserves a first rate institute of higher education." So said the King and so then was it done. A large endowment from the royal coffers, a few eminent domain relocations to secure the prime real estate such a fine institution requires, and then just a matter of finding the right institutional leadership. College President, Terrance Tussaud, who despite his outwardly flashy dress and intense mannerisms was a true champion of education and the youth of Oleon Adoringly referred to as "Mr. T" he was known for his simple and heartfelt advice. "Stay in school! Drink your milk!" He would fire off to unsuspecting students as he trotted around campus. "Treat your momma right!" He would sign off at assemblies. Students from all over Oleon loved their President. The art department featured both drama and traditional arts. The histor department and library mutually benefitted from the husband and wife couple occupying the department head positions, while many were attracted to the archiology department for their daring stories of searching the Brick Seas for treasure. All in all the massive university campus of this large educational structure with its neo classical architecture still maintained a personal touch and demonstrated Breshaun's prominence as one of the grandest cities in the Brick Seas.
