  1. I'd be delighted for both to come back. Coral flamingo and grey mouse would be great. In fact, I'd take just a repeat of the original mouse to be honest.
  2. In the US, Amazon is doing a Prime 'day' (now spread out over four days, which must make it four times as good) and so lots of retailers are responding, including LEGO. Walmart has the MTS for $180 ($50/21% off). If it's still available, it's tempting to get as a second copy for MOCs. Or, more likely, an alt build from Rebrickable.
  3. I hope for 32x32. As much as I like the Natural History Museum, it is too small compared to the other buildings. The scale just feels wrong and it should be larger - both for the type of building it is, but also to match up appropriately with other modulars. At $300, it's pricey and they probably can't increase that. So to me, focusing on suitably scaled buildings on 32x32 is likely best. Ninjago City Markets suffered from the same thing. It was spread over 64x32 and felt empty as a result. But to fill it up to feel busy and bustling enough would have added $100+ to the price, which isn't feasible. A smaller footprint seems like the logical approach.
  4. And yet there is an F1 CMF that doesn't even include the drivers. Kids probably like the cars if they get them, but are they actively asking to collect the whole series like they might with other licenses CMFs? The Marvel S2 CMFs also didn't feel like they had broad kid-friendly appeal. Although I agree that LEGO would likely choose more lucrative topics for future CMFs than LOTR. Oh, missed this in my reply, but yes, exactly! If they had specific drivers then it might stand a better chance.
  5. Agreed. That would be a much more useful approach. Minimizing the effort to get what you need, while also providing greater visibility.
  6. I've just parted out the siege encampment tower and it's $50.45 on Pick a Brick. No figures. Or, as I like to think of it, ten goats. Which would be more effective? The siege tower or ten goats stacked on top of each other?
  7. They appear to have reverted back to the old version, as of Sunday evening in the US.
  8. I also didn't order the Forestmen Stronghold. I just didn't particularly like the set and felt that the castle dominated too much, compared to things being hidden away. (All of which is caveated by the fact that I couldn't design anything nearly as good). I also still have LKC, MTS, and the Castle in the Forest from the last type of Bricklink Designer Program all unbuilt, so I really don't need to add yet another box to the pile and should get on with building some of them. My kids have shown interest in castles, but they're probably just a bit too young to do a large build, so I may wait another year or two and do it with them.
  9. I also passed on the Siege encampment. It's great, but I just didn't think I would ever actually display it use the various mini builds. My plan is to part out the tower and maybe one tent this week through Pick A Brick. I hope it doesn't get too much over $50 though. $500 to part out the entire set seems incredible!
  10. Excellent! I did the same thing and got a couple of helmet domes which arrived yesterday. Now need to decide which figures go into it. I still think the retro space CMF will be best, but at least it gives some flexibility. Have you built it yet? Was it good?
  11. Interesting update. Not being able to pick things with a single click is frustrating. For me, you can see whether it's bestseller or standard when you click on the colour, which I don't really mind. There's the 'Show Bestsellers Only' filter, although a 'Show Standard Only' filter would also be useful. There is a diagonal line through the colour swatches of any elements are out of stock, so that's fine. The huge win is that you can change the quantity of parts really easily, without it having to load, slowly, which in the past for me has either meant missing some things or taking a long time for it to update before clickng again.
  12. And you turn 82 next year, right? Right?!
  13. New Elementary has the list of new pieces on Pick a Brick - New Elementary: LEGO® parts, sets and techniques: New parts added to LEGO® Pick a Brick I ordered just after midnight and none of them were up then. I suspected it would be later, but oh well. Hopefully availability is generally good for next time I order. The printed elements from 10362 French Café are on, which is great. But the blackboard flag sign (6522783) is $4! OMG! It feels so ludicrous. The printed 3x6 door (6522784) is $2.96. Wow. The unique parts tax that is appearing is pretty poor form.
  14. They would absolutely give us only Thomson, so that you'd have to buy another set to get both Thomson and Thomson. To be precise, it would be done deliberately to get you to buy another set.
  15. It would be a pretty poor move by LEGO to have one half of a pair in an extremely time-bound, limited availability set. A bonus character, fine. Smeagol was a decent example. Not critical to any of the LOTR sets at all. But Pintel and Ragetti are a pair and would be bad form to split them. So yes, it will probably happen.
  16. The way the designers talk, it often seems like they come up with the concept. Unless the same designer is set to create the modular, I suspect there is less chance of a newspaper building being made, because people don't tend to like using others' ideas as much.
  17. Agreed, it looks great, and I really like the idea of the set. I hope they put gingerbread men into the BAM stations for Christmas, to fill it with gingerbread troopers. I could certainly see a gingerbread ATAT being part of the village's Christmas decorations.
  18. The final Dreamzzz wave set names include 71508 Fox Guardian Mech, which might imply a recoloured red fox in early 2026.
  19. I got the Drillster set today, on 30% off clearance, which isn't the best deal, but I like the set. It gives me Super Sonic and Shadow. I'd like to get Knuckles, but don't the sets he's in, and they would have to be crazily discounted for me to consider getting one. Hoping the next wave has a better option.
  20. All those sets are retired, but it's still available as a Bestseller on Pick a Brick, so really no excuse. https://www.lego.com/en-us/pick-and-build/pick-a-brick?query=39696 I might get four of them to have a bit of flexibility, in case I end up with different figures in there.
  21. Oh, I didn't realize those parts are still in production, that does seem a bit odd. I don't like the torsos either, and will replace the figures with the retro space CMF figures, which will fit really nicely with this.
  22. I like it. Yes, the helmets are a bit odd, and I'm not a fan of the torsos being used but I don't care about it that much. To me, minifigures are a secondary consideration of the set. The rest seems extremely faithful to the original model and I think it looks terrific. Easier access to it would be appreciated, but LEGO has been saying for a couple of years that they are going to do more of this. The lack of exclusive parts/prints is great though, making it a lot easier to part together.
  23. Just looked it up, and it's very neat!
  24. I tried to buy two - one for display, one to keep sealed - but I couldn't add them both to my cart, so I gave up.
