Well, from a practical point of view, i could agree with you, @Toastie. Nevertheless, i also put other things into balance. Many people do things like this hampered in the fact that it's a "far, far away galaxy..." and the vast majority of the people won't do anything. So they continue. Indeed, is how a bully operates: prey on preys that have very little chance of resist. once said that, I agree with you in the fact point of everyone has to evaluate, balance, and choose the battles to fight. If some day I am in this situation, i most probably won't do anything. But I think is important to realize the consequences of our acts. By doing nothing we also contribute to this people doing their "busyness". But I have to insist: in some aspects, I agree with you, @Toastie. In the others, I keep my deepest respect :)

I agree with you @1974. One potential issue is what is expected from TLG. Many customers come just for the collection, build a set and place it in the shelf; others for making new creations with the given pieces, and others stay in the middle. At the end, TLG have to try to find a balance between all the potential customers, which frequently comes with important constrains in terms of complexity. I guess, the tendency of the company is to stay conservative, not risking much... For that, as you said, we have the community and the MOCs. Anyway, I'm happy that this year we have this set. Is not big, is probably not incredibly complex, but there resides its beauty (and also in the fact that comes with some valuable pieces!).

Well, if the novelty of the design comes from the new parts themselves I don't consider that a novel or original design. I mean: the wheel hubs introduced with the 42099 are really cool, but the model didn't bring something original in terms of designing. On the other side, although the Arocs came with some new parts, for me, the key aspects of that set are the solutions for, for example, the suspension and the integration of pneumatic system and traditional gears.

Honestly, I didn't expect and still, I don't, anything from the CAT. I may get surprised, who knows, but for me the thing is as follows: TLG rarely comes with groundbreaking designs, in comparison with what other AFOLS are capable of. All sets, big and small -and this tow truck is a perfect example- contributes with new or valuable pieces. So, I would try to put aside my frenzy for collection and just get those sets that really bring something in.

I agree. I may make sense that this model incorporates an air tank. It might be difficult to play with to pump up at the same time than controlling the airflow, and an airtank would help. Also, it could be the grey piece under the door. So, this is for me a must-buy. It's kind of strange, since i was conviced to get the Zetros, but i think this one will come first (if the zetros comes at all at the end). H.

300 eur for 4 new tires, 1 smart hub, possibly a new M motor, possibly 2 XL motors, and 1 L motor. All these should feature the steering, diff lock and acceleration. Because it doesn't include a 42114-like gearbox, isn't it? Although I understand the comparison with the Porsche, I think it's not apples to apples. The Porsche is a set for the vitrine, this one is -supposedly- more playable. Because of that, it includes motors, hub, and so on, which none of the big cars include. I don't know, for me is A LITTLE BIT pricey, but not that much. For me, the disappointment cones more for the axle number reduction and the subsequent change in aesthetics and overall structure than anything else.

Seeing the new pic with some time and comparing it with the 3-axles version, it seems that they just removed the middle one. Indeed, as previously pointed out, the 2-axle model is not that far way from reality, but anyway. The thing is that, maybe (and only MAYBE) is not that difficult to integrate a third axle as in the previous leaked image. Nevertheless, it will substantially increase a price of a set that is already overpriced (if it maintains the original proposed price). As for many of my other set, this goes on "I will wait until a I see a good second-hand offer" ;).

Generic Contest Discussion

What about a contest of whatever-without-wheels? ;) -
Many thanks for the help and understanding! :) Although the 45982 are in their way to their new home, we may have some new tyres coming with the new Mercedes Zetros. Nevertheless, Although there is a lot of dissertation about these, i think that with the elevated suspension, those tyres should do their job there and bring a even better looking! ;)

This is trully awesome job. I just purchased the instructions and the few parts i was missing. Although the different tyres options are really nice, due to budget cuts ( ;) ) i couldn't take the ones you used either in the instructions either in the photos. Do you have a possible -more common- alternative? In the past, when building @Madoca 1977's Avtoros, I used the Land Rover's (56907) with good results, so i guess they may work here as well, but your opinion would be obiusly much better than my guess ;). Congrats for this great piece! :)

I just received a mail yesterday informing that BuWizz bricks delivery is delayed until May 15 due to delays in the supply of a piece. The motors are also delayed until June. I am in the smae situation than you, @Aerolight. I have even a MOC waiting for these bricks, but seems that everything keeps delaying, so is our turn to be pacient ;)
