More progress pics of the FJ Cruiser moc. Im currently waiting for more parts to round off the rear of the roof and recolor it to yellow: Places where it could be improved: 1. More rounded roof with roof rack 2. Re-shape the hood and front to be more raised with a slope 3. Make the entire wheelbase shorter. This is easy to do from a bodywork perspective, but would be difficult because the transfer case and gearbox take up every inch of the chassis. 4. Add the finishing touches (lights, grills, bumper wings, etc)

I spent some time this weekend to build a mockup of the FJ bodywork. I started with something inspired by Fedor Klobasin's original FJ Cruiser 4x4: ( ) But now my design has gradually morphed into something distinct: I myself own a yellow FJ Cruiser, so the final model will probably be yellow with a white roof

Thanks, the plan is to eventually swap out some sections and put motors in. Im planning on removing the 4 speed gearbox before I motorize, but I attached a single XL motor to it and there was still enough torque to drive over carpet even with the t case and gearbox, so I might try adding more power and see what I can get out of that gearbox

I've finally completed my Toyota 4x4 chassis that I plan to use in my 1:10 4Runner and FJ Cruiser mocs. After lots of revision I finally have a model with the following features: 4x4 transfer case with Neutral, 4 Hi, 4 Lo, 2WD Hi, and the option to add a center differential. Simple 4-speed gearbox with turn knob control positioned by the drivers seat HOG and drivers seat steering controls Lockable rear differential (with hydraulics) Independent front suspension and 5-link rear suspension with high travel and articulation. Fake V6 engine This is my first model with all of these features added concurrently so Im very excited to get to work on the body and polish up this model. Drivers side controls: Passenger side with view of transfer case controls: Front IFS: Rear axle: Rear suspension full droop: Better view of diff locker: Panhard rod:

MOC - Mazda MX5 (NA)

I feel like this deserves a frontpage -
Idk if you've considered this either, but the new wheel hubs that the 1:5 motorcycles use might also work nicely. You could embed a 9.5L or a 6.5L stock into the top and build the necessary steering links around the sides

Pipasseyoyo had a rea bice mcpherson design here: Maybe it could be modified for your project by swapping in one of the new BMW/Ferrari springs

My biggest pet peeve is that they dont use the bew wishbone in the front suspension and that they didnt make it more rigid. I also agree with anove comments, Lego was smart this time and spread the new orange across multiple sets so we get a full complement. Olive is very tricky to moc with -
Honestly it would probably be easier to swap the bumpers, decals, and wheels from a TRD at that point lol I was on some FJ forums and people were talking about the possibility of swapping one of those transfer cases from an old 4Runner into and FJ Cruiser since they all share a common architecture. Probably on the rare side here in America though

My rationale here was to eventually use this T-case in my 4Runner MOC and aome 4Runner trims have a center locking differential with 4Hi/Lo modes. I just wanted to create an all-purpose transfer case that I could easily use in both models. If I am successful, then I can just use a common architecture with some modifications here and there to get either a 4Runner, a Lexus, FJ, etc. Different models and years sometimes have the traditional part time 4WD and others have a torsen diff in the center Im close to cracking the 4Lo locker. After that, Im going to try to rebuild this without a center diff. thank you, I hope my design helps you out and makes it into your model in one form or another
