Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Jim replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is not correct. Retailers were allowed to sell the sets they received. And TLG will take responsibility when it comes to breaking parts etc. Indeed, it was not. The sole reason for cancelling the set was the military reason (allegedly). -
Sent you a message. Hope you can read it, because you need to have 10 posts before you are able to use PM.

Hi. Welcome to EB. Placing comments about your own model in multiple topics is frowned upon. Please refrain from doing that. Have fun on EB!

I understand that you are missing some things in the review, but I don't really like the tone of this comment. You could have gone for something like this... "Thanks for the review. I am however missing some crucial things. Blabla" This is Bob's first Technic review, so it's understandable that it's not quite comprehensive. Allthough I would have prefered Bob waiting till tomorrow because that's when the app will probably be released. Bob, can you add a section to the review when the app is available? I would love to see a simple video demonstrating the functions.

I think it's great. But it's not scale modeling.

[MOC] BMW Isetta - LEGO Ideas
Jim replied to Jimmi-DK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, While it's a great creation, you haven't provided any extra information. Not even the scale, which is kinda important in the scale modeling forum. -

Very cool creation. I have moved it to Technic though, where it will get the attention it deserves. -
Congrats to the winners! The prizes have been sent.

42113 Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey
Jim replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's my main gripe... First of all, don't use a license and we are all cool. Why does every set need a license. Second, if you use a license, think of it before you make the decision to make this set. I simply can't wrap my head around it. As a matter of fact, they did....today. The LEGO Technic Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey was designed to highlight the important role the aircraft plays in search and rescue efforts. While the set clearly depicts how a rescue version of the plane might look, the aircraft is only used by the military. We have a long-standing policy not to create sets which feature real military vehicles, so it has been decided not to proceed with the launch of this product. We appreciate that some fans who were looking forward to this set may be disappointed, but we believe it’s important to ensure that we uphold our brand values. -

[REVIEW] 42112 - Cement Mixer
Jim replied to mostlytechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the review! For once, I wished a part (the barrel) wasn't printed (well maybe this goes for the porsche panels as well). Come on, you should know how the EB forum works by now. And you could have sent mostlytechnic (or me) a PM instead if you were concerned about the embargo, instead of falsely accusing him in public. Disappointing. -

It's always the same differential issue. Just check the instruction booklet to how the diffs need to be placed. -
I have not built it with a stand, but having a studded base will cancel the need for those tires (if you ask me).
