  1. Haven't read all the posts, but one thing that's clearly affecting the number of MOCs posted is the competition of other social media. Posting a pic on Facebook is much less intimidating than posting here and getting no response.
  2. O wow! This is stunning. I love the added details like the yellow sign. Great work!
  3. Exactly. That ship has sailed. You see what I did there?!
  4. Slightly off-topic, but something worth to consider; you can get a BrickPi and use it with the EV3 hardware. See my robot project here.
  5. The EV3 has (imho) better support for Python, using a nice VSCode extensions. However, it takes about a minute or two to boot the EV3 for Python Are you asking why we need debugging?
  6. Me like! Following this topic with great interest. Nice to see some progress!
  7. This is an amazing set. I like it a lot. It's a petty that I'm seriously running out of space for models like this. So tempted to buy it anyway Thanks for the great review!
  8. You are on it (just kidding, I know not all the info is here) There used to be a Mindstorms forum, but it isn't active anymore. Facebook has a lot of active groups for the different products.
  9. Thanks for chiming in. Interesting to read that most of the motors are working with the new Hub. That's a good thing.
  10. No problem We also have an index with interesting/important topics. I know it's out-of-date, but the most important topics are in it.
  11. Yes there is. The Technic General Discussion topic.
  12. The Technic Pub is for NON LEGO related conversation
  13. There is sound on board the hub, for beeps and blips. But the hub doesn't play MP3 or WAVs. They are compatible, but I am not sure if everything works out of the box. Obviously the regular Powered Up motors don't have control over rotations and stuff. Maybe @kbalage (RacingBrick) can answer this question?
  14. In your situation I think it's indeed better to start with RI. You can always pick up a second hand EV3 if you really want to explore further options. The saying is "have your cake and eat it too" btw, but you were close enough
  15. I absolutely agree with @Tcm0. So the question remains; do you want a small computer capable of doing a lot of stuff, which requires diving into the matter. Or do you want to create (simple) LEGO robots without diving in too deep.
  16. Spike Prime and Robot Inventor basically have the same hub, in a different color (and with different firmware, which can be replaced). Well, I would recommend getting one of the new Mindstorms sets (Spike Prime or Robot Inventor). The EV3 might be more powerful in some areas, but if you are not a hardcore robot builder, I think the new ones will get your started more easily. And the new one are compatible with the current ecosystem of LEGO electronics.
  17. And booting EV3 with Python support takes...........for..........ever....... Let me ask the most important question; what do you want to do with Mindstorms and what are your expectations?
  18. Hi, Welcome back Check your technicman97@gmail.com
  19. Thanks for the comprehensive review! Not an all-time fan of Sesame Street, so it doesn't trigger that nostalgic feeling for me, but I can understand the appeal of the set. The build itself is mediocre at best, but the minifigs are very cool. Although their heads look like fake-brand quality, a bit too shiny. Easy pass for me, but I'm sure this set will be very popular.
  20. I read on Facebook that someone had issues using a grey motor on the Spike Prime hub, but he could use the blue version. I have both sets, so I need to try for myself, but I was wondering if someone had tested this?! Same goes for the Volvo motor, which has a different part number than the one used in Spike.
