  1. True. They want to sell sets. Sets sell.
  2. If I'm not mistaken, the current body already has different colors Did I say that out loud?! We have spoken about this idea several times in the past (and I even discussed it with Kim back in the days). It sounds cool, but it simply isn't a proper strategy for TLG. And this. TLG knows how to make a profit.
  3. You're forgiven. The image doesn't work, but I reckon you received the set, or you will receive it shortly. Enjoy the build!
  4. It's okay to talk about that, but we don't want every personal order and shipping confirmation posted in this topic.
  5. LoL Well, I like nothing more than programming stuff, so I really like to get my hands dirty. I do a lot of "overseeing" at work, but I notice I can't live without coding Maybe I need to save this for the winter. On the other hand; I must be able to find some time to fire it up.
  6. Please, let's not go down the COVID road....again.
  7. I'm sure you are curious, but we still don't want this topic to be cluttered with ordering and shipment issues. Just be patient. You will most likely receive it shortly.
  8. Please don't turn this into an order and shipment confirmation topic. We ended that phase Sweet!
  9. Before that happens, let's plunge it back into the right discussion
  10. I so need more hours in a day, so I can test all this cool stuff.
  11. I was about to address this when the next "order confirmation" message was posted. That's mostly marketing jibberish, although it's cool they do seem to take this into account.
  12. Let's just be happy that it comes in an existing color. Another "one trick pony color" is something people are always complaining about, so in my opinion this is the better choice, regardless if other colors would have looked cooler. Agreed.
  13. I think we don't need to make this a bigger issue than it is. I will tell you guys the minimum voting period next time and let's be done with it.
  14. I don't have a fixed time windows for the simple reason that I don't know when I have time to wrap things up. I do have a life besides Eurobricks When I close the voting on a certain date and I don't have time to wrap up the contest, the results are already known because of people counting the votes manually. So, I like to close the voting and wrap up the contest at the same time. People will most likely be counting the votes manually anyway, but sometimes the difference is marginal and last minute votes can still matter. Usually there's only one stage voting which is open for a week or two, which should be ample time for people to vote. When we do two stage voting again, I will make sure the first stage has a minimum of seven days to vote.
  15. I thought it was a week, so that's my bad. It could have been open a bit longer, agreed. Regarding the 0 (zero) votes; if you can only pick 6 out of 62, the ones without votes would probably remain without votes. In the end it would not have mattered. We'll just stick to a single voting stage next time, problem solved
  16. I think it has to do with the number of different parts they can store simultaneously. If they use a printed part, they need a bin to store that part. That’s also one of the reasons (or THE reason) they can’t use printed parts on every UCS set. They simply do not have enough storage space. I think that’s also the reason you see a certain part in an odd color used in all the Technic sets for a single wave. I remember the white pin connector in the small helicopter a while ago. It made more sense for that part to be black, but TLG already used white in other sets, so they user white in that set too. All about optimizing storage space.
  17. Not sure. Could be your brain playing tricks on you hehe. Anyway, numbered bags never have to be opened at the same time. That's the main reason of their existence. However, not all sets have numbered bags. Maybe that's what's confusing you.
  18. Not sure what you mean or if I don't understand correctly, but you never had to open all numbered bags at the same time. Of course, you need to open all bags with number 1 at the same time. But not 1, 2, 3 at the same time.
  19. No problem. For me it's usually better not to post or comment before my second cup of coffee
  20. He was referring to formula 1 style voting, which allows you to vote for 6 entries. @letsbuild @zux If first stage voting would have been two or three weeks and if you could vote for ten instead of six entries, at the end of the day it would probably not have mattered. One way or another, the best entries always end up on the stage.
  21. Thanks. It is what it is.
  22. The final results of the Technic Small Car Contest have been published. For the first time, we used two stage voting. We had a whopping 62 entries and only 10 made it to the second voting stage. Click here to see the second stage voting results. If you haven't seen any entries, please visit the Technic Forum and browse through the entry topic. Lots of amazing builds! 1. Jeep Wrangler JL by ArsMan064 - 209 Points 2. 2005 Ford GT by ArtemyZotov - 185 Points (38 votes, entry 33) 3. Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 by Leviathan - 158 Points (28 votes, entry 9)
  23. Drum roll.... Final results have been published.
