Two stacked might do the trick as well. Although it might be a bit bulky. If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask

IR transmitter for NXT

Let us know the results! That sensor (actuator) is high on my wish list. It's seems to provide an easy way to control (extra) motors. -

Technic General Discussion

Illegal techniques, are techniques which won't be used by official TLG builders. Techniques where you need to bend parts, put too much stress on parts or where parts won't fit properly. Stuff like that. I'm sure other people can give more examples. -

No there will be a contest very soon! Working on the final setup, but I've had a very busy week. -
It's the other way around. Creating the app will be quite some work, even for an experienced developer. Releasing the app will be the easy part. Developer license is around 100 bucks a year. And Apple will accept such an app, for sure. Your comment about Android isn't true either. Development will roughly take as much time and there are lots of people using Android nowadays.

IR transmitter for NXT
Jim replied to Laui's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, This is probably the thing you need! http://www.hitechnic.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=NIL1046 Control LEGO R/C trains and other motorized LEGO sets with the HiTechnic IRLink Sensor for the Mindstorms NXT. The IRLink uses Infrared signals to communicate with trains, Power Functions Motor controller and the Mindstorms RCX . Control the speed and direction of up to three LEGO R/C trains (7897 and 7898) and other sets including the new Technic Motorized Bulldozer (8275) and the Monster Dino (4958). The IRLink enables NXT programs to read values from RCX sensors and control motors connected to the RCX. I have used Hitechnic sensors before and they are really good!
