Technic 2017 Set Discussion
Jim replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Exactly! Why go through all the trouble and shown them to the public a week later. It doesn't make sense. And the prelim catalogue pictures have been floating around long enough for the copycats to anticipate. I find this rather odd. -

It's not bad for a simple setup. Yet I do get the feeling that you should position the light in front of the object. The biggest (and most nearby) part of the picture is in the dark you. Or you can turn the object so the front of the vehicle catches the most light. Just my two cents. -
Helge, You have been banned from Eurobricks. One of the reasons was your behavior in this topic: It's not allowed to create multiple accounts, especially not to avoid a ban. I will shortly ban this account as well.

True. Library/content management seems to be the most difficult part. -

That's taking initiative, nice!! I wouldn't say complex, but like every Adobe program, you need to invest a little time getting used to. Thanks for the tip though. Since it's free, it might be a nice alternative for people getting started with RAW processing. If the camera allows for Shutter, Timer, ISO settings and RAW shooting you are fine! And I think the T5i has all of these features. Get yourself the beforementioned 50mm prime and you will be able to take great pictures! It's not the best lens for video. -

I second too, or is that called I third?! Lightroom....Lightroom....Lightroom.....indeed! I can't live without Lightroom. Did I mention Lightroom by the way? Make sure you have sharp pictures, by using a tripod and a higher F setting, like f/11 or higher. I use even higher values like f/19. Go for Av (or Manual), choose RAW and let the camera do its work (taking a picture can take several seconds). After importing in Lightroom, you can do pretty much anything you want. Get yourself the Nifty Fifty, Plastic Fantastic, 50 mm prime lens! It's the cheapest lens available (around 100 bucks), but it's so good! Be aware that it doesn't have zoom, so you will need 3 meters if you want to capture the entire 42009 (for example). https://petapixel.com/2015/05/11/canon-unveils-the-50mm-f1-8-stm-the-new-nifty-fifty/ -

The event is not publically accessible to consumers. You have to apply for a ticket. It's a fair for tradesmen, journalists, etc. If you do have access, it's all stands etc, so I reckon the LEGO stand is accessible to anyone -

Guys....can we stop the "could be"? This is not a speculation topic. Furthermore, the 42067 most likely is the airport rescue vehicle (fire truck). -

There's no need for a comment like this. It doesn't add anything to the conversation and it will most likely derail the topic. If AOW wants to thank Timor, let him thank him. Use the report button if you don't like it. Same comment here. Thanks for your assessment. But this topic is to discuss the 2017 sets, not for patterns or future sets. Please use the future wishes and speculation topic for that. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94328 For all three of you, no big deal guys, just a friendly reminder -

It is. I don't think they appeared in the prelims of the earlier model, but theoretically it's possible. -
