  1. While you are at it, you might want to change the Wikipedia page too
  2. Hi, Please don't quote images, unless necessary. You can remove them before you post the message. Thanks.
  3. I only read a lot of Pros in your post. Do it
  4. You can have a million wacky functions
  5. I will tag @Rick. He recently looked at the ranking scheme.
  6. With Technic she probably meant the name "Technic". First sets didn't use the term Technic. (haven't checked the footage or the dates, so just a hunch) Edit: I think they started the term Technic in 1986. The English Wiki states 1984 :P "The concept was introduced as the Expert Builder series and originally Technical Sets in 1977,[1] and was renamed Technic in 1984."
  7. I used two XL motors and I switched the 8/24 combo for 16/16. Quite an improvement in performance. XL provides you with enough torque and the change in gear ratio encreases the topspeed to an acceptable level.
  8. Actually, I don't really mind if it's independent or not. As long as your vehicle can do something extra, besides steering and driving. Exactly.
  9. Hi CaptainT, Welcome to EB. Thanks for your trust in my MOD...however....I don't think I will be completing it anytime soon. As usual (LEGO) life is rapidly throwing new projects at me *cough* MF *cough*. And I still need to complete another review and my report on the LEGO Media Fan Days. So, I will keep this model built and hopefully I will find some time to finish it. (I was very happy with the new chassis and motor setup btw)
  10. I agree with Busterhaus. This. (except the subforum) --- I also agree with @Ron Dayes....the model should be (near) perfect scalewise. If the smaller Porsches are not in scale, then they don't belong here. So Scale is the operative word as far as I'm concerned. Therefor every builder should mention the scale the model is built in. This was one of the first requirements if I am not mistaken. --- TL;DR ... what @Ron Dayes said
  11. Hi Nexogeek, Welcome to EB. When you quote, please remove the images from your quote. Check out our posting behavior in the site guidelines. Thanks and have fun!
  12. Nice to see you making some progress You don't need to use the spoiler tags for your updates. You can simply post the information in your topic.
  13. Thanks for the wonderful review. Nice quality pics as well. Great job!
  14. Ever wondered how to build brick cars?! @Lasse D has written an in-depth review of Peter Blackert's wonderful book about this subject. Click here or on the image to visit the Scale Modeler's Forum and check out the review.
  15. https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2017/09/05/business/05reuters-lego-results.html I will split this into a separate discussion.
  16. This is exactly what we are looking for!
  17. Since you haven't logged in yesterday, I have moved it anyway.
  18. If they reveal something, it would be the 40 year anniversary set we all hope is still coming. However, it's not likely. They said no more sets this year, so it would be released in 2018.
  19. Probably nothing. Or they surprise us with something unexpected at the end of the "tour"
  20. As usual @Cwetqo comes with a solid explanation!
  21. I know it might be hard to believe, but I really know as much as you do. So yeah, it might be, I don't know
  22. I am not sure I understand your predicament. You have been able to buy the 10179, because the 75192 has been introduced and at the same time you are sad that the 10179 isn't that much worth anymore?! Seems like a contradication (which you basically admit yourself). In my opinion it's very simple....you buy LEGO to have fun and enjoy the build. Or for your kids to have fun and maybe learn a thing or two. Don't see LEGO as an investment opportunity. And if you do, you need to accept that fact that, like almost all investments, the value of your investment can fluctuate. Admittedly, I have quite a few unopened boxes in my collection. And I do appreciate that they are worth something. I am not even thinking about selling them, but I like the fact that my collection has a certain value. However, justifying the cost of a set because it has re-sale/investment value is definitely not the right approach (imho). And besides, you can always sell your set for the original price (with corrected inflation), so it's not that you are throwing away money. You simply hoped you would earn more. Some people might disagree, but they will probably be active on other forums instead of EB I for one am happy that the riggins and radar dish are re-introduced, so I can complete my Bricklinked 10179
