[HELP] EV3 and Pneumatics
Jim replied to bluatigro's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, Welcome to EB! It is very common to use a Pneumatic valve which is driven by a motor. This will give you the air flow. However, you do need to motorize the pneumatic switch as well. The solution for the valve can be found in the Unimog and Arocs. You can search google for "lego motorized pneumatic switch" and "lego motorized pneumatic valve". This should give you plenty of leads. -
Hi Jacob, Welcome to EB! How about you post some pictures of your RC cars and other Technic builds. I have unlocked this topic so you can post pictures. If you want to discuss a MOC in more detail, it might be better to create a separate topic. If you simply want to post some of your work, it's okay to use this topic.

42082 - Rough Terrain Crane
Jim replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I was in the 3x11 camp for the full 100%, but then I got doubts and switched to the 5x11 camp, then to the 3x11 then back to 5x11 LoL So it's indeed 3x11 after all. That took a while to sort out. I like what I see guys. I'm pretty sure this set will be packed with lots of gears and interesting constructions. After a couple of miss hits (BWE, 6x6) I am convinced this set will definitely be worth it.- 1,224 replies

Questions for LEGO Mindstorms Team
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yup. It’s included in the Educational version but you can get it separately. Doesn’t come cheap, but well worth the investment. It’s a battery which clicks into the EV3 brick. -

Hi, This forum is not for buying and/or selling. We have a different forum for that. -
42083 - Bugatti Chiron
Jim replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Noted. However... 1. We don't look at MOCs when we decide. So many MOCs have been made, that would limit our options. So we choose based on partnerships and unique models. 2. [LIES] We never use MOCs for inspiration or solutions. -

These are the answers TLG will give to these two questions "Maybe, we'll see" and "We'll see" Your first question is interesting though. They will be happy to answer that. -

If you want to be in your own video, let me know. I can help you out As for the questions...Boxers...and I have noted all of them. Thanks. Keep 'em coming. Honestly, we don't know what to expect. Could be available right away, but it could very well be the first of August. We are still in the dark. All we now is that there will be an unveiling of the 2018 supercar in Billund, The LEGO House, on the 1st of June. -

Progressive refinement and prototyping. It’s almost certain they simply picked the Porsche scale rims and wheels and went from there. Iteration after iteration with feedback from the Bugatti team. -

Of course it does appeal to a lot of Technic fans. The fact that you and a hand full of others prefer sets like the BWE seems hardly representative for the entire Technic audience. This set is targeted towards all of the above. I don’t need to ask TLG. This sets sells, just like the “awful Porsche”, which is at the top of a lot of Technic lists. Only the Arocs can compete with it. The Technic audience is a very broad group of people, kids and AFOLs, not only the ones who are in it for the functions. I was a bit disappointed with the Porsche too, but I still would have bought it, because it’s a collector’s item. And about supercars; there’s absolutely no abundance of supercars. Far from that. Every couple of years there’s your run of the mill 8070, 42039, etc, but I wouldn’t call Technic a “supercar construction set theme”, not at all. -
I might have the opportunity to do some Creator Expert interviews again. Any interest in coming up with some new questions?

Here's a list of teams which can be requested for interviews during the upcoming Fan Days, which I will be attending: LEGO Architecture LEGO Brickheadz LEGO Creator Expert LEGO Friends LEGO Ideas LEGO Mindstorms LEGO Minifigures TT Games / LEGO Games Jurassic Park Harry Potter Star Wars Unikitty Tormod Askildsen (head of AFOL Engagement) Jan Beyer (manager AFOL Network Events) Signe Lønholdt (senior manager Community Growth / LEGO Ambassador Network) I am thinking of doing LEGO Mindstorms. But I would definitely need your help coming up with interesting questions. Questions other than "When will EV4 be released?" PS Which reminds me I never posted the Technic interview. Maybe I can simply post the audio files and turn it into a Podcast or something. Transcribing is the worst job ever. I need to use the GoPro this time. -

We already knew it wouldn't be the Chiron since the countdown on the TLG website stated 1st of June (Ninjago maybe, not sure if it has already been announced. But let's stick to the Chiron in this topic) -

If you are referring to the tiny black panels, they weren't new. But of course, I am very interested to see if the set include ANY new parts, besides the rims. -

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I got this message ...we hope you’ll use that copy offered to your RLFM to build a shortlist of technical questions for both LEGO designers and real-life supercar designers as you’ll meet both here in Billund. Which kinda implies that we will receive the set and have some time to come up with the questions. I'd rather come up with potential questions beforehand.
