Hello, I have a noobish question for all you massive army builders. Does the price of "current" minifigs (ie lion knights) fluctuate a lot on bricklink? I'm looking to assemble an army of about 30-40, and I'm wondering if there's any problem in waiting another couple months. Thanks! EDIT: Wow Ogre that's a fantastic army, good thing your wife is supportive.

First off, I don't own any. However if I did I'd keep them separate, because I think the CMF hats are over-sized and over-furry for anything but a Canadian Changing of the Guards MOC (that being said, I am no shako expert so this is just my aesthetic preferences). The CMF torso would be great as the Duke of Wellington, and IMO an improvement over this (scroll down) by Bonaparte. I like the swaps you made, especially the Grenadier.

Must've missed this the first time 'round. Great job! It looks like a classic set built with modern parts. I dunno why, but I especially like the folding bridge.

If you'd done this for the competition . . . The photography is excellent as well. Great job.

Wow, Designholic, your pictures are always stunning and this is no exception. Where's that background from? -
Great MOC TheBrickAvenger, they just keep getting better! I love the colors you use, the overall tone represents the cold and defeat very well. Now I'm just waiting for Jena/Austerlitz.

Redcoat Invasion: Row faster, fool! 24 soldiers.

That's a brilliant wall technique, the tile grooves give a very nice stone effect. The cannon is great as well, nice piece combination right there. I don't like the tube arms though, and in terms of posability you can achieve relatively the same effect using regular arms.

I might have a hundredth of that collection. That's really very impressive. I'd hate to be a good guy in your kingdoms, they're completely outnumbered.

Reminder: 800x600px is our max picture size!

You want to get the url of the picture, NOT of the page the picture is on, if that makes any sense. I assume you've gotten to the page in this screenshot, when you're there choose the size you want and then control-click on the image. Then choose Copy Image URL and use that to deeplink. -
Thanks for showing this, I'll go plunder that nice shiny room now. Are the red/black uniforms based on anything? And are there any exterior pics? Great job.

I agree, the fire pics set this apart. I liked seeing the scene progress. I laughed at Dumbledore's mad scientist hair.

Great to see you're continuing these, Horry, I learn a lot from every one. Maybe I'll make one for forts.

A brilliant first MOC, the flagship looks right at home. Are there interiors?

Yes, MstrofPpts explained the design well, he figured out the angles/dimensions. Quarek, go to the toolbar and click LEGO Digital Designer --> Preferences. Third from the bottom it says "Outlines on bricks," click the box next to it and then "ok." Then restart LDD and it should work.

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26

That looks amazing! I have no criticisms, the quality is beyond me. I'm so impressed that with the huge scale of your project you have not skimped on details at all. Dang that's cool, when I was a kid that was my dream. Mine were made out of cardboard and foil though . . . I guess I'll do it someday. -
I remember lusting after this way back . Reading your review (which was, IMOhilarious) and judging from today's perspective this set does look terrible, however I still rated it "above average" for nostalgia and the time in which it was released, much like the early Star Wars license sets. Thanks for the brilliant review!

Yep I am getting on the Year 3 Celebration Bandwagon. Can I please join the Reviewers Academy? I tried making a review of my ITP but it sucked so I didn't post, I need an intervention.

The Lego Castle Crusaders Sets 1984-1992

Great blog, I thoroughly enjoyed the pirate ones and these are just as interesting. The alternate models for the King's Castle look boss. -
Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
Skipper replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Definitely. Although I liked the fantasy Crownies that preceded it, I think Kingdoms is a step in the right direction for LEGO, with more civilian sets (Mill Raid) and better constructions. The sets are much more solidly built and realistic, and for once with a proper gatehouse where the portcullis doesn't stick above the wall. The modular style hearkens back to the interconnectivity of classic sets, which I love. However I think LEGO missed an opportunity with this, sets like the Blacksmith Attack (IMO) should've been built with a "CC Standard" wall so you could add it to the castle. The factions are nice as well, much better than the jellybean knights . I can't say I like Kingdom's figs more than Crownies, but they definitely win over the skeletons. The Lion Knights are slightly generic but the Dragon Knights very well done and original with a beautiful colourscheme in dark green. This theme also introduced the great helm (), which is now my favorite along with the beaked helm (I don't know what it's really called). However I did not like the shift to the smaller 4 by 5 wall panels, the King's Castle is significantly smaller than it's Crownie counterpart. -
Redcoat spoilsports. This is great, especially for a first moc. The modularity is great, as you've built quite a detailed interior. The atmosphere inside is excellent, I love the second group of pics.

Reminds me of the Rapid River Village set. A lot to love in this, lots of great techniques and I like how you found a brick solution for everything (teepees, snake, wagon cover, etc) rather than using the "official" parts. Good luck in the contest!

Poor LGM . . . I really like the cartoonish effect of braking on the car, very well done. The interior is surprising to me, I had thought that the inside would just be a bunch of structural support for the shape. Great MOC!

(WW Category 2) The Last Ride of the Pony Express
Skipper replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great scene, a very original idea and as with the fort I like the classic style. The interiors are nicely detailed especially for such a small space, I like the chests of mail upstairs. Good luck!
