  1. You know, I was just thinking about this the other day when I was watching the "Neverland" program on SyFy (which, by the way, is terrible - I don't recommend it to anyone). But yes, while it's no replacement for Classic Pirates, I would love that line, a lot of iconic set material. Imagine the Jolly Roger! Maybe Hook could be done with Bellatrix's hair?
  2. You can upload them to your Brickshelf like a picture. Then control - click the LXF icon, select "copy link adress," and then use that to create a normal link.
  3. Thanks for the tutorial Foremast Jack! I don't tend to build things at a scale where so much detail would be necessary but it's very interesting anyways. Your illustrations are amazing, my only suggestion is to take screenshots without the LDD background (control k) so everything looks cleaner. Can we see the LXFs? I'd like to take a closer look at how some of these are built.
  4. Looks great Robinson! A beach, ships, rum, what more could a pirate want? The whole MOC has a great peaceful island retreat feeling. You can definitely see Derfel's inspiration but I think you've given it an unique style as well, I really like the woodworking on the larger building. What were you planning to add to make it "finished?"
  5. That looks amazing, and even with the expanded scale it still looks like something TLG would do. The stern especially is right on. I'd never have thought to use a midsection for the stern, but the way you've done it with the arches is beautiful. I think the brown deck is too bright for the ship (maybe dark brown or grey?) but that's a matter of preference, it looks great already. Keep it up!
  6. It's definitely possible, I did it but unfortunately it's been disassembled. On the second floor of the CC you give it a three stud hallway next to the staircase. You build a wall along the hallway parallel to the staircase and then you can further split that into two rooms (you can leave it as one, it's your preference). Similiar deal with the upper floor. It'll get pretty cramped, I'd say this is a pretty good inspiration for fitting a lot in a small space. Hope that helps.
  7. Well, groundwise it's definitely an improvement. But the structure is still very boxy. Now that you're working in LDD (and this is why I love it so much), there's no limitations besides yourself. Spend some more time on it and you can change the shape around, build a wooden second story, interior, animal pen, place to store crops, brickbuild the tree, try some new techniques etc, to make it much more visually interesting. Good luck!
  8. Nice remakes, Horry! A set along the lines of the Mobile Artillery is one that I've wanted for a long time, would be such a great army builder. I like the Trading Post as well, the fort part is excellent. Looks to me like a really beefed up Eldorado Fortress (although it needs more cannons!). Are you planning to start a thread for that ship? It looks great.
  9. Love it! De Gothia is right, it does look like the Borgund Church in Norway. The woodworking is very impressive, and the Norse style fits perfectly with Mitgardia. I like the little decorations made with the cross pieces. edit: Spent too long looking at the pictures and Khorne beat me to it.
  10. Looks absolutely lovely Blackmoor! The ATC is expanding it's reach. You always choose a "rare" colorscheme and the color combination on this one is absolutely stunning. Dark green! The scale, design, and details are spectacular, I don't know if there's more to say than that. Some great torsos on the minifigs as well, I especially like the one on the kid with the forestman hat. Only suggestion is to clean your pieces, some are really dirty!
  11. Wow, a waterfront property in the city! Seriously, I like it a lot. I'm especially impressed at the interior you've fit in such a small space, I would've thought that stairs took up too much room but it all works. As others have said it looks very cosy and some good furniture as well, definitely somewhere I would stay. The final picture is great too, converting them all to 16-wide was a great choice - the GE looks surprisingly good.
  12. That's awesome Hersbrucker, it's developing into a great little settlement. The tower stands out especially, you can feel its age through all the cracks and hanging plants but it still looks very powerful. I like the technique used to make the dock, the snot looks so smooth.
  13. Awesome Charlieboy, looks so much better than my LDD versions. Imagine this as a set! Are you planning to review the entire book?
  14. Looks great Bart, the fort's developing nicely. That tower on the rocks would make a great outpost on its own.
  15. Nice work on the base, I'm getting excited now. Although I worry about that minifig, I'm sure it'll get in the way somehow.
  16. While collectively I don't think it looks much like Trafalgar (aside from positioning), I like your ships a lot. Especially that neat little 14 gun British sloop (Pickle?) and mod'ed interior for the Imperial Flagship. Nice work on the Spanish torso decal as well.
  17. This is great, as others have said this just shows again the character and life that you manage to establish in all of your MOCs. Is there an interior? I think it'd be pretty fascinating to see more of the siege weapon making process.
  18. Ha, I like those starter models. Enough to inspire but not restrictive. I've never built in this theme before so it should be interesting when sign-ups go around.
  19. That looks fantastic, really like some primeval desert monster. The mottled light/dark tan is great, this thing would be really well camouflaged. Only suggestion is that it needs some heavy weaponry, though maybe it just rips things apart with those massive arms.
  20. I wasn't sure where you wanted comments, in the thread or here. Regardless, nice new tutorial. I was going to make on myself after exams but you've beat me to it, and done a pretty good job as well. You've displayed the history and development in response to weaponry very well and as always with a nice presentation. Really my only criticism is that IMO LEGO miniscale just doesn't do a great job of depicting the important sections and designs of a Vauban fort very well. The angles just don't match up/they are somewhat unrecognizable, and that's one of its most important features. For example if you compare this and this. Thanks for the tutorial regardless, a great read.
  21. Whoa that's an awesome collection. They really went all out on the modularity concept of the first castle (even if the attachments were pretty ugly). Dumbledore's Office, the only one I own, is absolutely fantastic. Interesting to look over the evolution of LEGO Hogwarts, things have changed a lot since 2001. And more pictures would be great - there's a tutorial on deeplinking stuff here.
  22. Two votes on the Colosseum, one on the Golden Temple. I'd be really interested to see how TLG'd pull these off. To be honest I can't really see the appeal in a set of Habitat 67, I feel like at the scale of these architecture sets it'd just be a collection of boxes.
  23. Well, there's no real ship as can match the Interceptor Flagship. Honestly I think this is just going in circles, you can debate all you want but unless by fluke realistically no ship with half the guns and no top deck is going to beat another. Closest is SES, but my bet's still on the flagship.
  24. Thanks for sharing these! A question for you old timers ( ), in the first Pirate's line did you sympathize with the pirates or imperials? Because in the newer line I felt like the Imperials were the good guys, but in the video they were getting owned. I'm pretty sure the first is Japanese, in general Chinese letters won't be so curved. For a moment after watching the second, I was ashamed to be a LEGO fan. Seriously.
  25. I think my favorite thing about the guild project so far is the amount of seige weaponry being pumped out, before the guilds maybe the last ones I saw was this. This is another great addition to the EB arsenal, and all the more menacing because you have three. I like the simplicity of your design compared to the others.
