  1. For one time I had 5+ and they all went NOWHERE: 1. Low-boy loader trailer 2. Caterham 7 3. Kirovets K700 4. Russian 6x6 truck 5. Some small MOCs like Xerion Mini spin offs. 6. Big-scale racing truck Now it's only a skip truck, Caterham 7, Russian 6x6 truck and waiting for inspirations about 42147 and 42148. Meanwhile - compiling some BUNDLE video/rebrick releases to maximize the already spent development time further... Singularity made possible stuff like my 42106 mocs be out in a week each. Splitting brains between 2+ "free time" tasks which have like 30 sub-tasks while also working and driving around and being a supportive member of a bigger picture - it's not sustainable or you don't sleep that much. I chose the don't sleep approach - it delivers, but makes you very very grumpy. Also - the media creation process for all MOCs is a MOC out of itself. So your homework has homework. Neat. Best tip on how to make MOCs is copy others. Sometimes get an OG set, see how its mechanics works - translate it into your parts, see if it fits. I've done it without shame. Buy/read other people's instructions, sleep over some tough to figure out parts. Here the more than one MOC WIP situation does help - it "resets" your eyes so you see your MOC as somebody else's and start to improve it in new ways. Just like watching somebody solve a cross-word - behind someone's shoulder sometimes tasks get easier than if it's in front of you. You get abominations sometimes, other times pure joy, third time you master the masters and squeeze more stuff in than you expected.
  2. 42147C - Steam train a.k.a. 5th train is out. And because stud io parts are a bit janky lately - it's got some green in the renders... Nequmodiva showed me some design flaws and it's even got a facelift now too :)
  3. The final version of the train looks like this:
  4. And I thought the set was "exhausted" after your 8th one. Keep going, I want to see more stuff out of it!
  5. Continuing my personal quest to make a train out of small Technic sets. This one is VERY VERY clutch power dependent. But I decided to do it anyway. So far I've made one from 42101, 42102, 42116, 42133 and 42147. 42117 and 42132 don't have enough tires to make a boiler. 42148 snow-thingy is still taunting though. I'm still waiting for good daylight to shoot ALL 5 of them at once so I can share them here too. For now - you get a render...
  6. A small teaser for an upcoming MOC and a comparison with the old bro from 42102...
  7. Before owning a car - I could see some of the mechanics via this forum and/or building it myself. For example - reworked a Baja Buggy from Nico71 and had to re-do the front suspension as I didn't have the rare 8070 steering hubs. 42000/42037 front hubs didn't end up in the same spot and were bigger. Soooooo - using control rods non-paralel to the swing arms taught me about bump steer :D :D Reworking a suspension mounting point combined with the suspension geometry was a blast! Also annoying - but hey, I learned stuff! Pneumatics and hydraulics make a lot more sense to me now after 42128 and 42144. Also - it helps me see the everyday objects as a combo of mechanisms - worm gears coupled to motors for actuating stuff and so on. I was amazed by the tech used in buses - shown here by Sariel and others - the portal axles, the door mechanisms, the "kneel" the buses do - it's all great mechanics. And I can't help but notice Technic connectors shapes in the railing in every public transport i get on :D EDIT: After starting my MOC journey and trying to sell some of them - a lot of photography entered my life, some YouTube knowledge and a lot of "marketing" research too. It's viral...
  8. I like it. If Ford agreed that it'll look that way - so be it. The raptor had hideous headlights which we hated here, yet it sold. If you squint hard enough you'll see the sulhouette of the rally Ferrari with the swoops of the 11l spoiler/fender panel. It's a limitation of the medium until we get another fancy panels or return to the wireframes of the eons before I got into Technic. Also - I bet the first F1 moc out of this car will be available in 2-4 days of release. For the Bugatti Bolide it took 2. And I know of at least one more in the works :)
  9. 42098 blue fella and the mustang had a baby I guess.
  10. The previous post was a placeholder for the video that I've just uploaded. I know it's not a Bugatti Bolide inspired one, but after two years finally TODAY I was able to publish it and it makes me VERY happy. The next stuff that can be bundled in a single video is my 4 42090 mocs and my 2 mocs out of 42103. Maybe I can pull it off until the end of the year :)
  11. 9398 had it's rims and tires slipping too. The bigger ones than the above.
  12. Given that 42101 exists and has 117 parts for the same amount of money as this set - I'm a bit perplexed where does the TLC/TLG make money on these sets? Even looking at 42084 - this set has a lot of big pieces for such a small set /not counting 42044/.
  13. The "portfolio" section continues forward. All of my 42106 builds are above.
  14. I liked the idea of 9398, 42082, whatever the big Xerion was and the Unimog's B models too - keep the chassis, rebuild SOME of the addons, get a fresh eye on the set. That way you don't get the part with 2000 pieces rebuild just to try the B-model and about a week of evenings a bit wasted. OR... you know, buy 2 😂 The 42078 and 42098 B models were amazing and I wouldn't discard them at all. I think old Technic b-models and mocs at the time of mocpages and beyond weren't that desperately dependent on smoothness. Now in order to sell a Moc it's got to be curve-perfect and no blue pins and hide the gears if possible, you know the drill...
  15. @GerritvdG - thank you for your kind words. The time has come to publish yet another bundle that has been in the works for 2 years - the 42101 one. You've seen the videos in it posted here, but now it's a 1:30 long and super-sped up! :D The only bundle left to shoot, collect, compress and publish is the one from 42106 - so far I've made 5 alt-builds from it, way way way behind Tomik's 10+ if I recall. I've scrapped several ideas for stuff from 42106 - a container trailer, a lowboy trailer, skip truck, spaceship and so on. Maybe I'll publish them unfinished here someday.
  16. I wonder if you swap the 3L beam there with a 3x2x1 panel /like the one in the back/ would it break the functionality or the 2 point articulation there is the key to the mechanism. The panel has an axle connection that can accept the 2L red axle and still articulate on the forks end of the connection.
  17. The worm gear is connected to an L shape actuator. The forks slide up and down based on where the short end of the L is. Have a look at the video above. It's the same mechanism with shuffled parts. The forks are extended to reach ground too. They are lower than the mechanism.
  18. Totally forgot about this connector. It makes way more sense this way parts-wise too. As for the mechanism - it's on display here too I'm not posting my rendition of it as it'll count as a promotion.
  19. I've managed to rebuild it from the picture alone. There are several places - and you'll see the bright green parts - that I'm unsure if these are the proper parts and/or spacing for it to work. It looks great though! If the studio file is off the limits - let me know and I'll delete it. On the green parts - the 3L beam looks like it should do the job, but it may be replaced with the red panel and work even better, I have no clue. Haven't tested. As for the front - I'm VERY VERY bad with system pieces and have no idea of the palet size. Thus - the weird 5L spacing between the forks looked like the only solution here.
  20. Dalmatian's B model looks like KeepOnBricking's takes on the previous MJ sets.
  21. The tires make them more jumpy. Tractor tires have better grip and more friction - thus - not that fun for KIDS to play with them. That's my 2c. Experimented with the 42133-42134 combo - that boy had almost the same piece count as the monster jam sets and was jumpy af. The tractor tires are a bit heavier I think too. Less acceleration. And the sets are heavy, compared to the earlier 100+ pieces pullbacks, so you gotta get some power back wherever possible.
  22. It's on the ugly side, but hey, we get some new micro panels. And some brick built wheel arcehs - that's new. And the skinny tires. From 2015 till now I haven't seen those in Technic as main tires. I wonder how the lift mechanism will work. Also 42084 vibes around this one. The B model would be a Airplane Fire Rescue truck - to use those curved panels...
  23. The summary of my 42116 MOCs is here too. Video is just a compressed playlist of all the models + some pretty renders like the thumbnail above. Hope you enjoy it. I'm proud it's over for now. I have two more bundles to "compress" and release and I can finally return to creating stuff and not content about stuff. :D <Frodo's IT'S OVER gif here>
  24. Great job so far! You can get some inspirations for the functions from this guy too - the 42039 Osprey. The PDF is free I believe. I have no idea whether he's in this forum or not. This is not my creation, I just enjoy the collective spirit to build this machine.
