  1. I've consulted @wojwachbricks as he got hold of a physical set and added the bits I couldn't see from the official photos of the set. The revised IO file is here. Once I get a hold of a physical set I'll finally confirm all the parts are there.
  2. My request is a change from GTS to "Kostq" due to all the other handles being related to it. Is it possible?
  3. Recently - 42164 turned into a truck dolly to tow stuff around. Road trains are always fun to see. In Bulgaria you can't see any :D
  4. Full res of the photo above - here These are all my 60 published alt-builds so far. 54 if you don't count the bundles and 52 if the 42039B and 42117x2 modification don't count as real MOCs.
  5. The LEGO website had a 7sec video and some promo shots and I've kinda recreated the F1 car... 239/240 parts are on display. There are some invisible parts from the press materials are still making me wonder what should be there - all are colored in LIME. Full res file from the bottom is here. The RED pin-axle connector is barely visible in the front - the upper panel 3L AXLE holder has to be connected somewhere. I've hidden the wing below. The upper wing remains. I still wonder WHY the RED one? You can see the limitations of the space there.
  6. @maaboo - As a background - 42046 was my first set ever - the combo model made me get into Technic as a whole. The tank then made me buy the two sets as parts packs. Standalone - the sets are kinda meh. However - the back of the tank is REALLY crude and unfinished. Something I tried but couldn't fix with the leftover pieces. So I tried making some other models instead. Finally - here's the family. I've bundled up their videos in one showcase video. <itsdone.gif> Next up - digging another idea from the graveyard. New Technic sets don't make me feel very creative so far.
  7. The YT video about the 42090 and 42091 Police SUV is out. The 5in1 bundle video is in the works too.
  8. The price for the Mclaren E-something Dakar truck is up too. The piece count wasn't higher than the MJ sets. Also remember that 42090 and 42091 had the same price as all of them whilst being 120-130pcs :D
  9. I've Sold the 42090+42091 sets I had but kept this scratch build around as a video. It always bugged me to finish it. 42090-42091 Police SUV combo model. Yesterday I've digitized the dissassembly video I shot before selling them. 10hrs later and the concept is finished and almost ready for publishing. Almost didn't sleep. And another news - 42090 bundle is coming in the next days - finally managed to collect all my files - which inspired this finally getting finished 3yrs later. I'm welcoming any ideas for better and not that sterile rendering of this model - anything will be of use :)
  10. The Youtube video is out. You can finally see the dragster it its full glory. Also - in the video you can't see the Christmas tree.
  11. The OG 42103 seems way more preposterous than my guy on the right - it's the direct inspiration for the C-model. Sprinkle that with the 42050's B model and A features... Luckily - I've managed to make a weird Christmas tree from the spares and a detachable wheelie stand to pose the dragster it just like the 42050. The V4 is tiny and kinda lame for a dragster, but I'm happy the 42164 set has pistons at all! I have no clue if the wheelie bars in real dragsters have springs, but this just felt right to include as a feature. Dunno. I'll disassemble it soon, otherwise the improvements will continue for sure.
  12. 42164 dragster physical model is almost done. Happy new year...
  13. Tell us how did you shoot the photos, I'm amazed at the shots, the edits and the overall production. The model itself is outstanding!
  14. Yes, gear meshing and rotations must be calculated and done by hand. No automation there.
  15. I totally forgot that I've redone the 42133 train set and it finally isn't an eyesore anymore. Also - in hindsight - I was participating in TC25 before it started with my shrinking of 42065 RC tracked racer from the parts of 42148...
  16. Today my YT channel got trough a new milestone. If you don't speak Bulgarian - it's 250000 views and 668 subs. It ain't much but it's honest work. A comment on my tracked racer suggested to make a mini 42095 out of the 42148. Seems hard to do but might be interesting enough to try. We'll see.
  17. 42148C model - /RC/ Tracked Racer 42065's baby brother, missing the RC due to budget constraints... My first ever threaded MOC. So far - the design of this took about 5hrs. 3d design took 1. ALIGNING THE THREAD took ANOTHER 1hr... Let me know if there's a better tool to align them than stud . io ... Good thing there's copy-paste... Instructions are in progress.
  18. 4 years later Doug did a review again. The color is very close to the 42154 too. If someone is interested - here's the real car /again/. Land Rover made me scratch my head a lot at some places...
  19. Maybe wrong topic, but: how the heck do you take out one of these after it's in? Besides pushing it from the rear. It allows for locking parts together like it's cousin but it is a one-way lockage and can lead to non-reversible assemblies. Any tips on which pieces do fit inside and are able to take it out?
  20. Following the TRUCKS thread - let's start a Technic-based Trains one! For me making Technic Trains started with borrowing several techniques from 2in1 and his 42102 Steam train. while creating a simple 42116 alt build. This led to making 5 mini-trains out of the 2020+ $10 sets that you can see below: I'm really curious to see if anyone else has done some too. The ones I'm currently aware of are Technic Train Man's creations, Tomik's one from 42106, MK constructor's double 42063 440 locomotive. If the OG creators of the links above decide to share them with photos - I'll not steal their spotlight. I can't wait to see your Technic trains!
  21. Count every differential as power splitter. The chain of power in 42070 is: XL motor - central diff - hard coupling Central diff - front and rear drives Front drive has 2 wheels - less mass to rotate with 50% of the energy from the engine, the rear drive gets 50% too, but splits it to more mass /4 tires/. So they should rotate slower. For the fast rotation - the diff will route ALL power to the place of least resistance. Air has miniscule resistance compared to the ground, so all power goes to the wheels in the air. That's how cars and trucks get stuck in mud or when ground contact is lost on a tire or two. The most free wheel gets all the power and spins very fast. In snow, mud or ice you get precisely this. The other wheels get bypassed and do nothing. So when trying to get out of a rut - you block/slow down the fastest wheels and the power starts flowing to the others and eventually they get you out.
  22. They decided this "The Batman" will be grounded in reality and hot-rodding the ef out of everything. So yes, it's an old bike Batted up and made pseudo-drag like. Hayabusa owners do the drag extension. The designer of the film bike said the geometry of the suspension is a joke, but it looked cool, so it stayed...
  23. Well, the time for another bundle has come. All of my steam trains so far are here :) I'm still waiting on 42148 to arrive and I'll try to figure out a bolier from it too...
  24. As a friend painter said: "It's art. If it's not budging - go have a coffee, go out, see people. Nobody's life depends on it being done TODAY, so chill :)" Also - you can fail and scrap projects. It's good. You're still a creator. It frees your head to do the shtuff you really want to do. I've scrapped an X-wing idea once and it felt AMAZING. Like dropping your backpack while running...
