Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Kingnono presumably confirmed what his hint was referring to when he said that WWW was in DA. -

Very true. Hopefully they'll stick with only releasing a D2C every other year, giving you a chance to catch up? -

Thank you, I'll give the posts a look, I won't share as I don't even have half of mine built let alone MOC'd, but I love seeing others' setups. I love your graveyard! But don't tempt me to buy another Expecto Patronum for it... Where are so many of the death eaters from? -

Not sure how they nitpicked a detail, you literally said "I’ve been thinking about how a lot of us had sets that seemed unrealistic on our wishlists...and now with us getting WWW?" And they are contributing to discussion, by saying that WWW is not unrealistic to have expected, but is nice to have nonetheless. And it wasn't the specific part of the post they were replying to, as that was the example you gave for the bulk of your comment. But anyway, as the mods have said, let's keep this on topic and move on. I would love Gryffindor Common Room. And Slytherin for that matter, too. They could do a double pack? It's weird actually - looking through the reveal images has given me the same sense of satisfaction and happiness I get when I've bought and completed a set. Like a new experience. If I'd have known, I'd have just reacted to sets and never bought them if I knew it was gonna have the same effect on my emotions nah of course the only reason I feel this way is because I'm excited to get them! -

Yes, that would be really great - RoR is basically the only "room" set we've gotten so far and it's a nice price to expand Hogwarts and integrates into it well too! Thank you! Perhaps I'll have to look at getting it when it goes on discount. The tree looks like it'd go well in the Forbidden Forest if I modfied it a little too. Or maybe a proper Aragog's Lair entrance! -

That's very true. Speaking of Graveyard Duel, I have a random off-topic question. Does anyone have the Hidden Side Graveyard Mystery? https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/graveyard-mystery-70420 I feel like it'd go well with the graveyard... It's really giving me the old HP graveyard vibes... -

That only had so many pieces as it had so many tiny pieces. I don't think Diagon Alley would be very stable if it consisted entirely of 1x1 plates So no, I don't expect it'll be that big. I think roughly 4000 pieces, maybe 4500, is safe to expect and hope for though. I think they could easily make 5 shops out of that, assuming they're of similar size to Privet Drive, although hopefully they'll be slightly larger? As they'll probably have fewer playfeatures and there won't be the car taking up pieces, although they may have more detail. If they went quite a lot larger than Privet Drive then 4 would be a better expectation. Maybe they will go all out, but since this is minifig scale, don't set yourself up for disappointment :) I would love the HBP cave, it would make such a unique small set. -

I was wondering about that too. Although Burrow wasn't 100% confirmed I believe? Or maybe he was saying it's more impressive than we think? Or maybe more later on? I'm not sure... -

Are we sure there's a potions classroom? I feel like the ground floor room is the dinner party room and the first floor room is Slughorn's office. The one in the Great Hall doesn't really count as a classroom I'd say, just a random little room. It is a shame how pathetic the rooms in Great Hall are apart from the Great Hall itself. It is odd how imbalanced the rooms have been. We had two potions rooms in Whomping Willow, Snape's Office, Slughorn's office (or a potions classroom), the Great Hall one... Meanwhile, we've had the DADA classroom, and that's it for other subjects. There's a couple of random little rooms like the sorting hat room in GH I guess, but other than that... No transfiguration. No charms. No offices (apart from Dumbedore's) - it really makes me sad we're unlikely to get Umbridge's office... The fact that they've been focusing on making complete, film-accurate exteriors and recognizable locations has definitely compromised interiors. They don't do sets for a specific classroom like they did back in the original waves, which has really helped with making complete displayable connectable builds, but hasn't helped with classrooms. End rant! Yes it's my favourite wave so far too - it's nice they can go with events from the films and more unexpected/unique/interesting builds like the AT now they've got the obvious stuff out of the way. In fact, since I've only been buying HP in 2020, 2018 and 2019 are basically one wave for me - yet these sets seem better than both of those! Maybe it's the hype, or maybe it's because there's not a single set (apart from Hedwig but I feel that's a unique case) that makes me go "meh" (like Whomping Willow, Hungarian Horntail and Beauxbatons Carriage did for me). Add on the amazing sounding DA, and potentially another set later on, on top of all this... The AT is such a unique build, my favourite yet. I'm so excited! -

As Fred & George would say - yeeeEEAsss DA's gonna be really cool I have a feeling, based on how awesome these sets have been. Mentioned it to mum the other day and she was like "yes, if you did buy that I'd be a bit like, 'do you really need to spend all that money on that?' " and I was like uhm eek -

It made me look up Pigwidgeon on the HP wiki though as I couldn't remember how he looked in the films, he's so cute and fluffy! -

Really enjoyed your video on these earlier btw! Yes I don't know why they chose that angle on the box! Every other angle looks okay, but that one just makes it look weird. It's mainly the head and the fact you can only see one eye at that angle, so it's hard to wrap your head around it, it looks like some strange cyclops head looking at you. At first I was like what on earth is this, then saw other pictures and can visualise how realistic and owl-like it is. If they'd chosen the first photo on S@H (not of the box) where Hedwig's facing slightly more towards you then it'd look better, although then again you can't see the wings well. I don't plan to get it anyway (I like it but I'd rather buy the others!) but I think first impressions will put off a lot of people. The fact that any angle has flaws with the appearance could be a concern when displaying it for people who do buy it though. Just looked at the blueprints. 35cm is quite the wingspan!! Does the castle look as "amazing", "the interior especially", as it did when you saw it the other day, now you've had a chance to have a more in-depth look? -

It's also built out of Lego, which is a strong hint that DA and perhaps the Mysterious Ministry Battle could be made of Lego or compatible building blocks? -

You literally bought an entire flat just for Lego, that's dedication LotR/Hobbit is something I never had an interest in until recently so I'm a little disappointed I missed out. But yes absolutely! Most of my Lego has been sitting up in the loft for years, especially ones I got when I was much younger like Vikings and Aqua Raiders. But now I've started collecting HP (quickly turning into one of my favourite themes, on par with Indiana Jones), I'm excited to rebuild those and rediscover all the amazing things I forgot about with those older themes. Trouble is, with both wanting to display those and HP sets, space is a big issue, and now there's these new ones on top - having space for cabinets like you have would be amazing. I hope one day I'll have the space to display all my Lego simultaneously... That would make sense, as we already know about B&B so I don't think that would indicate anything - as kingnono said in the comments. -

Flipping heck, I wasn't expecting that. That's an amazing collection, my jaw dropped. It's kind of inspirational though - while I don't expect I'll ever have quite so much as you, especially able to be on display simultaneously, I see several sets that I have and love which is so nice to see. I love how you've set up some little scenes in some displays too. It's also nice seeing some of the older photos of your collection too. Also had a look at your animal photography - some of these are stunning! I won't say too much off-topic though, don't want us all to get told off again Ah it definitely could be! -

First, I am completely in love with your display! Wow! If you had any further photos I would love to see them. 1. Do you mean sell? Absolutely not, they're a part of history of your collection! If you mean put away, then maybe if you're struggling for space. Depends if you like having a time-capsule/history display, or if you want it all to be consistent. 2. Could Whomping Willow go in the back of one of the shelves with the GH, CT and AT? It could provide some depth as though the castle continues further back. -
