It would be nice though, especially if they'd done it last year so that my Ideas Dinosaur Fossils wasn't all white except for the grey joints along it -

Ah ok thank you! I'll probably not worry then, save my 1p. I can see why you'd think that. But it only came out August 2019 so won't for a long while as yet. -

Going back to Lavender... Was potentially doing a Bricklink order. Is this the item people were saying would be good to add to Lavender's hair? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11618#T=S&C=154&O={"color":"154","iconly":0} It's like 1p so I thought I may as well lol -

It's the same one or two people just creating tons of alts. I can't believe people can actually be that pathetic. If this is the attitude of people in the community, I'd rather leakers not post any leaks at all. Their mental health is much more important than some nerds on a forum getting excited about a kid's toy. I honestly cannot believe people can be so pathetic. Yeah me neither, but I think they look pretty -

I really love their basilisk! That's a very cool MOC. Take a look at this one I found the other day too, it doesn't fit with other sets but is also cool I've got a Chamber of Secrets MOC partially made, that I'm building as well as my Forbidden Corridor. I'll be sure to share with you all when it's done :) I actually really like DOTS lol I can see what you mean about the D2C, especially as even if it's disappointing it's gonna feel like I've obliged myself to buy it because it's a key location. But it's gonna be pretty hard to totally screw up a set with $400 worth of stuff, there may be some bits that are less likeable but as a whole I'm sure it's gonna be awesome. I think we can trust lego knows what they're doing - none of the Harry Potter sets so far have been totally awful, there's some clear ones with worse bits but there's nothing really bad. But I disagree about the loss of excitement for normal sets. I love getting a new set every now and then when it comes on offer, and if it's small it feels like a small reward for waiting without spending a regrettable amount of money. And there's some awesome scenes gonna be shown. And saying the figures are dull is a bit harsh - Ron and Lavender weren't great but the Harry was pretty cool as was Slughorn, and there's still tons left to reveal. It's gonna be awesome I'm sure, there's naturally gonna be some bumps on the road in these sets. Analysing the sets is gonna be exciting! And I like that so many YouTubers do this - even Jang's started livestreaming his thoughts and reactions to theme reveals. Same but for the Ideas Treehouse and Barracuda Bay, and I'm also looking at some Creator stuff that looks cool. -

Yeah it would have to be huge! And also there's the fact that you can arrange the Hogwarts sections however you like which would be an issue. And also I question how they could make an underground section stable enough without wasting loads of pieces on technic beams simply to hold stuff above up, sets that many people may not even have and so would be pointless for those people and reduce the amount of other stuff they can put in. I think it's safe to say this modular design is staying side-to-side not top-to-bottom, even if it causes continuity issues with underground which should be clear by now isn't important to Lego. I've said before and I'll say it again - Lego really went all out on minifigs. Heck, I wasn't planning on buying the Hungarian Horntail set as I didn't like the dragon, but bought it anyway yesterday almost solely for the minifigs. This is a very important thing to remember - there's no need to immediately buy, and next year could be much less expensive to allow you to catch up. And most of these will probably be easily gotten for 30% off if you're patient (at least in the UK I find that achievable most of the time, don't know about elsewhere) and nab any deals, maybe more around November/December. -

Can you think of any other scenes that could make a good small-medium sized set in OotP? I feel there's a lot of storytelling in OotP and not many scenes left that actually translate well into Lego. Just curious if it could be something we haven't even considered. I agree (although I'd resent that fake leak guy on IG being correct lol), personally I like smaller sets just as much as big ones as I feel it means they focus on the key parts of a scene. And it also allows you to buy more than one of the set to make it feel more substantial if you really want, without repetition being forced on you by making it more expensive. I like that about Lego - they know how much to add to a scene and don't overdo it. Lol I tried balancing the patronus satellite dish in Expecto Patronum on Harry's wand, needless to say it didn't go particularly well. I never liked the fact it comes from the tree for the sake of a play feature. It's interesting how all we were talking about was DA a few days ago, and now in anticipation we've moved onto the normal sets. I've never experienced this before (well I guess I have with Nintendo Directs but it's not as friendly a community lol) and it's really exciting. I think it's just imagining what scenes we can create that hypes me up, even though I've told myself to collect all the 2018/19 ones first! -

I agree. Just because you don't want more sets because you fear it'll be too expensive isn't trying to stop people enjoying stuff, they're just hoping the range stays affordable to them. Everyone's situation is unique and if you're on a budget, LEGO is something you want to space out purchases, which is difficult to do with their limited shelf life and there being a new wave every year; having tons of sets you can't get is frustrating and disappointing for them. I'm not saying that other people who could afford double the size of the wave should be punished as that person suggested - and it's not like these additional sets may never come. It's just something people have a right to have selfish opinions about. No one is ridiculing you - you are entitled to your opinion and so are others, and this thread is called "Rumours and Discussion", so it is discussed. And please quit with the passive aggressive "some of our more outspoken forum friends". -

Yeah exactly, I'd want it to be a decent Chamber of Secrets not a mediocre one with bits missing. -

Yeah I don't think integration into the rest of Hogwarts would be an issue with CoS or the forbidden corridor from PS. Making the bathroom on an upper level that has a wall connecting to other Hogwarts sets, and then the slide to the CoS on ground level. The potions labs should be underground but they're on the ground level so there's no reason they couldn't apply the same reaosning. -

Yeah, this year seems to be an expensive year in general for Lego for me, there seems to be a lot of really awesome stuff coming, especially with the DA D2C. I feel like the walkway with the stone snake heads is almost essential too. Yeah I agree on the book exclusives part, although I actually just thought a counter-argument for this is the new Creator Pirate Ship which could quite easily compete with Barracuda Bay. And the fact it seems a bit odd to put two CoS sets in the OotP/HBP year, at least Privet Drive is in several films, whereas the Chamber of secrets is only in the CoS... But wait! No it isn't, it's also in DH! Maybe they'd do it next year, and have both the live Basilisk for CoS and the carcass for DH, just as a way to get it to fit with the other DH sets presumably next year? An Ideas Dinosuar Fossils-style Basilisk would be pretty cool imo. -

Includes FB but not BH They’re not going to put a Tom Riddle in the book then make a slightly different one for a set for the sake of a tiny bit of screen accuracy. The book Tom Riddle is the only Tom Riddle we are getting. I don’t think we’re getting a CoS set for this reason as it’s an exclusive minifig. Not only would it cannibalise book sales it’d be pretty rude of Lego to them screw over people who pre ordered the book for the minifig. Remember the average user isn’t a minifig collector. I think you know this is a reason it won’t exist, and so you’re trying to turn it into a reason it would exist for blind optimism... sorry I absolutely think the another Tom is Tom the innkeeper or a Riddle one significantly different to the book minifig. -

Thought it'd be interesting to see how the prices of HP sets have changed this wave. This is just "normal" sets - no polybags, calendars, books, D2Cs, etc While the average price has increased this year compared to both 2018 and 2019, the total price is actually lower than 2018, simply because there's one less confirmed set so far. I will update this as stuff is announced though. This is also including the Buildable Hedwig this year as it's kinda a weird case. Oh and there's two $100 sets in 2020 and two $20 sets in 2019. (Also I hate Excel) -

Trouble with that imo is that a CoS set would surely be a medium-large set at least, if not a large one. And this wave is already very expensive on average - only one $20 set for example, compared to last year's two... -

I think Tom the inkeeper makes sense as it's another Tom to the one we've already got. As much as I'd LOVE a CoS set. Maybe he's actually one of us posting, leading us down false trails whenever he posts a hint on IG -

Maybe it's a meaningless riddle, and the hint isn't the result of the riddle, it's the fact it is a Riddle, it's a Tom Riddle... Chamber of Secrets set???? I'm kidding of course it's not that. Do you ever wonder though if half the hints are just a load of nonsense to throw us off? -

I don't see a reason the greenhouse would need to connect though. It's a separate structure. -

I'm also wondering if they'll stay canon with the height and make it taller than all the other towers. I wouldn't imagine they'd make it too much taller. -

Wow, how impatient, it's not hard to wait a few days is it?! Is it...? Is it......? Edit: I should say, now having read what they're saying, it doesn't compare in any way to our impatience and I take my joke back. -

Oh goatness me that would be terrible. I'm currently on the third. I forgot hwo much I love these Lego games, and they look so pretty compared to playing back on the Wii. My favourite scene to be Lego-ified is probably the Chamber of Secrets. For some reason I've always had a dislike to forest levels. Trouble is a Mario Maker 2 update dropped so I'm struggling to find the time to play both! -

I've been putting off playing The Complete Saga too! It's just kinda annoying they're not on streaming services and my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive! I love the older games without dialogue personally. I feel it lost a little bit of the charm when they got rid of all the grunts. But only a little. I'm sure if I grew up with the spoken ones I'd feel the other way round. Yeah, I'm wondering if they're holding off releasing it until after covid. Either way, I'm sure it's gonna be the best Lego game yet - it's been the only one in development for over a year I believe, which is a long gap for TT Games. It does sound amazing.
