We've kinda discussed this quite a few times about having Diagon Alley separated, and many agreed that having the underground parts separate would be okay as they're more playfeature oreintated, work as a standalone set, and not take pieces out of having more buildings - which wouldn't work as standalone sets. I don't think there's any need to worry about minifigs, Lego are really maxing out on minifigs no matter the set size for HP :)

I doubt places are gonna be encouraging rushing to shops and getting in line to get some kids' toys!

Lol my shelf is tiny. It barely has enough room for the sets I’ve got there at the moment, which is just Expecto Patronum and Aragog’s Lair perched in front of my games. Gonna have to do some serious rearranging already from the other sets I’ve got in the meantime that are with me at uni, let alone once I’ve built the other HP sets I’ve got, got the rest of 2018/19 HP sets, maybe got Barracuda Bay, Treehouse and Chinese New Year, then there’s the literal elephant in the room that is Diagon Alley... probably gonna have to see if I can persuade mum to at least temporarily have some stuff downstairs not in my bedroom!

I'm sort of of the opinion that we don't need much more wall. Otherwise much of the exterior is just gonna turn into a very long, very bland wall. But obviously it'd be different for someone without all the castle sets (or planning to in my case).

Like many others, I'm excited for Diagon Alley. But I'm gonna be sad that it'll be a long while before I can get it due to the price, luckily it'll no doubt be around for a while and go on sale at other retailers on occasion. I was excited to start wth to buy it ASAP but I think I'll focus on smaller sets from 2018/29's HP and other sets like Chinese New Year, Treehouse and Barracuda Bay first, which ultimately cost more in total but don't require such a huge amount of money all at once. I don't think the greenhouse makes it too much, so that they wouldn't do the AT justice. Remember the Clock Tower was very wide and had a separate part to the side. Meanwhile the AT can be a bit thinner (not too thin though) and also be made of some large pieces too. As Guyon said I expect it'll be quite top-heavy.

I did wonder if it could be a typo - maybe he was saying "there's more to it than we think", as in, there's been some reason that we hadn't thought of, if that makes sense.

I was just going off someone else mentioning that it was not in the film. But I seemed to remember it too so assumed I was getting confused with the Lego game.

I love they all come in a set of 2 so you usually get an extra but... argh wands everywhere! The Ravenclaw common room. I'm guessing it'll just be some blue beds, but maybe it'll actually feature a new common room not from the films. What did the Lego game base it on? The height of the Astronomy Tower. It's meant to be the tallest tower but I'm wondering if they'll keep with that canon. The greenhouse. They have an opportunity to make a really full bustling greenhouse here or a tiny empty one. Grawp.

In my head there was some master criminals sneaking into the Lego factory in the dead of night ready to steal some UCS Star Destroyers to sell for big bucks, and then seeing a machine of Harry Potter minifigs and sparkly blue otters and saying "screw Star Wars, let's steal a single Bellatrix Lestrange and post blurry photos of it on legoleaks". Then realised it's gonna just be people working in the factory already isn't it. Disappointed there's no minifig heists.

I was then gonna say lol. In my latest procrastination activity, I've hunted for as many of the 2020 rumour/discussion threads I could find... And yet we haven't had any reveals yet apart from a polybag lol. More replies than Star Wars is hilarious considering that theme's insanely huge following. (It's interesting that HP has more replies than SW but fewer views - I wonder if that's because HP encourages more people to create an account whereas SW is just browsers?)

Sneaky, getting you to buy something so you don't buy it on sale on Black Friday! Looks like the Hogwarts Castle was double VIP when the GWP came too, maybe can expect the same for DA. Would probably make it worth it as you'd get $40 back, and it'd be a long while before you see discounts like that when it eventually comes to stores.
