  1. That's very good. However, according to Hwbricks (also known as ALF, both are same I think) it has stability issues. The part quality consistencies also seem better in Bruno Supercar.
  2. Its both quite amazing and amusing to see we are asking for recommendations between Lego and another brick manufacturer. I always think about choosing between Lego ones. And now I am thinking about the Sian and Cada. Another concern that I forgot to add is that, how interesting it is to build one over the other? I built Defender and enjoyed every moment of it. I saw Bruno supercar build video from youtube like Brickbuilder and ALF. With no offence, I guess the Cada supercar's building process has a bit less enjoyable moments compared to Sian. But then again the end product is one red hot beauty. Someone who built it either from Lego or the Cada can tell it better actually I guess. I personally wont sell either piece of the beauties. Buying Lego here is a lengthy and expensive process. I keep my Defender on the shelf, take it out occasionally to play with it. Want to do the same with a supercar, albeit with limited functionalities. And yes, doing something different is also in my mind. Thanks to all for the insights so far.... @amorti great to see you got your package. We will see how the story unfolds...
  3. Hopefully I will be able to get one of these supercars: 1. Cada Master C61042, designed by Bruno Jenson. Manufactured by Cada 2. Lego Technic 42115 Sian FKP 37 I have been wanting to have a Lego Technic supercar for so long, but their limited play-ability always puts me off. Sure, jb70 pimp ups can help improve this segment but buying parts from here is tough. Also I dont have that many spare parts. The Cada one has RC with 3k plus parts, its speed seemed okay to me, but I am afraid some specific parts are not up to the mark i.e., the axle-pin connectors. On the other hand, the Sian is a more challenging build with higher parts which are obviously of higher quality. Bruno has done a brilliant job but above mentioned issue is quite concerning. Cada one is selling for 187£ pound on amazon UK and the Sian is currently at 239£. I am also thinking about getting an RC non Lego Toy like the Huina ones and the Technic Sian together alternatively.
  4. Most probably, since 2016 every new big set came dwarfed the older sets like 42009, 42043. A new Arocs with current scale is a welcome from me
  5. I think for a few pieces that seems no clutch power I should not be as much worried...
  6. A very detailed building review (part 2 also released). Folk says the design was almost flawless although few parts had issues- the axle-pin connectors had zero clutch power. The longer axle was too stiff. But overall it was, to me, awesome. I accidentally found about CaDa on YouTube. Seriously wanting to get one.
  7. A bit different wish from me- the other day I was watching WWE's Clash of Champions' Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre Ambulance match. That ambulance was pretty much awesome. I actually do not know if Lego ever made or when was the last time Lego made a Technic Ambulance? That Ambulance had awesome details with headlights, interior. I think Lego has a perfect opportunity to blend System with Technic functions with an additional 2- speed gearbox for the ambulance. So many design details, with big tires etc. etc. Your thoughts? I know there is an ongoing discussion happening here. Would like to have thoughts on Ambulance from anyone alongside
  8. Since the Liebherr was released in 2019 with 4k+ pieces, something purely technical like that might come out as well in H2 with highest piece count ever, with boring C+ controls
  9. Ah. I am getting confused myself with the Ferrari position. Compared it with the 2019 H1 42096. The 42096 has 1580 parts, Ferrari has 1677. The 42096 was introduced with a 150 euro pricetag. The Ferrari is 170 euro. The 42096 had no 18+ Label. The Ferrari is going to have it. So, will the Ferrari have more advanced feature like the gearbox or, the relatively simple drivetrain (with no HOG steering) like the 42096. Hmm....
  10. But but I guess it wont be as simple as the 42096 right? I mean since it is 18+ it should have gearbox (minus the paddlers)
  11. Continue your grief and sorrow in here
  12. Ah, that (supposedly) red Ferrari with 1677 pieces is where my Primary excitement starts for 2021
  13. That'd be great. A 42110 spiritual successor is very much appreciated
  14. I am not disagreeing with you. Since I had troubles working my Land Rover's gearbox right (for me) I started to modify the set and on my way I used a 2 speed gearbox, then a 3+R, and finally a 4 speed one from Dgustaffson (that also extremely similar to the one Sariel made). All these gearbox had caused no big trouble. One particular issue I find is at 3rd gear when you move the vehicle backwards it just don't move (I was not the only one). The remedy was to change the combination of drivetrain's gear and gearbox's gear this way- larger gear (gearbox) + smaller gear (drivetrain/centre diff) caused reduced friction/quiter gearing with reduced dilemma at 3rd gear backwards. If it is changed vice versa the problem intensified. Apart from that I had no problem. But as you have told, I always took the risk of it not working properly with my set. A genius gearbox demonstrated above presented with a practical use like Keymaker said is much appreciated.
  15. IMHO, the last solid year of Lego (in terms of big sets) was 2018. The Liebherr, Bugatti, the Big Red- all became popular without much controversies/problems/inconsistencies that ahem...the iconic Charger, the Big Lime, the Volvo, and the Osprey had to see from little to significant impacts. Lego needs to restore back to 2018 and, with that they have to start proper continuation of their 2013 (42009), 2015 (42043) flagships. I am not counting the supercars in this regard as they are part of UCS series. I guess the Big Red (42082) was not a licensed set yet Lego went full on in terms of complexity or enjoy-ability of the build (sure it has repetitive process). So, more license-free full on creativity with less obsession with gears are much appreciated. A bit sad that no surprise set for the rest of 2020. Hope a heavy jeep will come in or later 2021.
  16. A video demonstration+instruction and/or a PDF instruction would be much more appreciated.
  17. Has anyone removed the center diff to see if the off-road capabilities of the Hauler improve?
  18. Please continue MOC/Modification related talks here:
  19. My future set speculations have these things completely Unwanted ?: Foolishness (hint: Osprey) Controversies Color inconsistency Gears of war (cracking/clicking)
  20. Thanks. In general, is it possible to have the gearbox completely bypassed when in neutral mode?
  21. Can someone tell me what are the jobs of these two parts in a gearbox?
  22. Hello guys, I have decided to change my 42110. I call it Lego Technic 42110- Lite Version. This version is basically for those who don't have enough parts or are unable to find/buy new parts to build the JB70 Pimped up version. Dont have enough resources/currently unable to RC it either. The Pimped up 42110 is a fantastic MOC. However, as it is mentioned above I dont have options to add or buy required parts and, I personally do not like a vehicle whose front seats and rear seats basically floats above a sea of gears right from the front to the very back. It looks weird, at least to me. Changes: 1. Removed the rear gearbox completely. As a result, the infamous (or the victims of the infamous rear gearbox) u-joints are also removed. They are now used on the frame of the main doors (and they are not aligned lol) 2. Modified the front gearbox with a 4 speed one. The front gearbox has two structures- one on the front and another one in the back. I have modified them to fit in the not so symmetric drivetrain of Defender. The black beam which sits right beneath the front gearbox has now simplified installation. The gears have noticeable speed difference with Engine piston movements when being hand moved. 3. Changed the position of the front and rear diffs. The crowns are now facing opposite to each other 4. Changed the position of centre differential Other changes to match my personal taste: i. removed the winch ii. Added a hood stand (from Grohl's Unofficial B model) iii. Modified the front grey shock absorbers by stiffening them using the little parts iv. replaced the blue pins with black pins for each of the four fenders. The blue pins among the Defender Olive Green is an eye-sore for me. Total 8 black pins were needed v. Used a long rod to connect the rear door (with the tyre) down to one of the holes of the upper bottom beam because when you open and close the rear door (may or may not happen to you) the door with the tyre has considerable amount of force causing the connecting parts get out a bit of their place. vi. From my observation, I have seen behind the steering wheel the dashboard's bottom part gets loose/looks like it is hanged if removed later. That black pin connecting all the parts was not doing a great job. I have replaced that with a blue pin. vii. The back red lights are flimsy. I have replaced the upper part smaller pins with a long blue pin. They are now sturdy. viii. Changed the inner side of the main doors mechanism. ix. Lots of small visual changes This mod is from someone who is a noob, knows not so much about gears, just want to have a vehicle for when he moves it does not crack with simplified gearing. It is not geartastic, but it's nice.
