  1. Since there's nothing in the rules about it having to be a new MOC, here's mine! Good luck gas jockey's!
  2. The floating pictures really do it for me, doe you sit with it in the bath every night? As much as I admire your building skill, I still feel there are 2 things that are not really correct about this ship. But it is of course your ship, it is Lego and it doesn't always have to bee 100% correct. Here are my views: 1. The waterline should be straight, the black line is now curving on the hull. 2. The bow is much to sharp for a frigate of that period, this would be a typical bow for an early 19th century cutter or a late 19th century clipper for example. Good luck on your second build!
  3. Congratulations all, a well deserved promotion! Now may the best Redcoat man win!
  4. Well I can update that we will be moving house in 6 weeks, finally after much delay and the winds against us. Work will start again early May, I need to finish up some smaller things first for an event that will be held in Belgium. Announcements of this will follow, as the Prince will also be visiting this event in her current state.
  5. Wow, you are making great progress! I love the shape and the looks of the stern, looks really good. Next to other things said, I do think your gunports are a bit small in comparison to everything else, 3x3 ones might look better. I also think your steps along the middle of the hull are a bit wide, I think 4 studs should really be the maximum. Good luck on finishing up this wonderful behemoth! I don't know of any either, in the time of the super frigates not many first raters were afloat any more anyway I think. Costs were too high and they were rather slow. So I am curious if this is modelled after a real ship, otherwise it is still nice to see one in the US colours! I agree, the bowsprit might be the nicest in 2 studs wide. This will also be the thickness I'm using for my Prince Willim VOC ship.
  6. Oh good eye, I love the white hull! Ah no worries, both can be removed. Why? You wear a skirt under your face after all.
  7. This is looking great so far! Love the crane and the steps onto the tower. Buildings are certainly something else then ships I've come to learn. Perhaps some slopes over the rocks can break the ''burpy'' look a bit and I would advise to use some different sorts of plantation on the rocks like the grasses. These also come in different shades of green which might further add to the realism. You could also make a small cave in the rocks with water seeping through. Lastly, tiling off the wall edges might look nice. I can't wait to see it at our event, good luck on the build!
  8. Uhm, I thought the deadline for round 2 was the 12th, not the second of February.... Can I still make and post an entry tomorrow? Of course you can give me some penalty points or something. Dang I feel stupid....
  9. I hate to bump old topics, but is there any news about this wonderful behemoth? I'd love to see some new (resized) pictures.
