  1. Wow, you're on a roll man! The cars all look really great, don't mind if I borrow a few.
  2. I still need to take the pictures from my camera..... Sure was great to meet you and the ship looked even better in the flesh! Did you manage to do any more work on her in the meantime?
  3. Well, I tried to build a tree today....and some hours later I'm still not happy! Ships to me are the easiest to make (and not just sailing ships), but that is also because I know quite a bit about them and they have been my favourite subject for more then 20 years now.
  4. Woohoo congratulations guys! The display looks really awesome, lots of action and detail. But where were the Blue coats.... I guess this is not the thread to start about what isn't historically accurate.
  5. This is a really good model, though I'm missing rigging, sails, a crew and stuff you need when fighting the enemy. He's made a few more good models in LDD, but I wonder why the hull is done in orange?
  6. I often feel like a weirdo feeling all the packages, but I never open them. Opening them takes out the fun and it is of course not very decent. I have not come across it here in Holland, and I'm not sure what I would do in such a case. It would really depend on the place and situation I guess, but telling a store employee seems like the most decent thing to do, just above taking the loose parts and putting them to good use.
  7. Wow, you've made a wonderfully detailed engine! Is it powered?
  8. After reading your description I thought; when is this thing going to take off? Very original model, well done!
  9. Those are true beauties, well done! Especially the valve gears are great, I always find them the hardest part on the engines.
  10. I love old parts and I often buy them to use in MOCs. I don't know how many bricks are older then me, but I have quite a few that are from before 1982. It's especially the small old windows and printed bricks. I wish they would make the 1x2, 2x1 and 2x3 windows again in the flat form the windows come in today.
  11. Some good designs in here, here's another one me and Errorist made some time ago for the Prins Willem:
  12. Those really are the best conversations at times, look what it brought! I must admit you've made a really wonderful model. Even if you wouldn't say it is the Golden Hinde, I would recognize it. The colour scheme is really not that impossible, ships were often very colourful in that age, though the black would be unpainted wood. But you can't tell all that from a wreck I guess. The only improvement I would suggest is to change the steering wheel for a whipstick. Steering wheels were invented in the late 17th century. I bet you'll get lots of good comments at BW, have fun over there!
  13. That's quite a nice ship for a first! She looks a bit short and wide, because the upper part of the bow is a bit far to the back. It might look nicer if you'd make the bow a bit longer and then put the headrails in front of it.
  14. Where are the pictures? Since you are so excited about it, I'm curious!
  15. The cheapest ones of the second door you show, comes to about 30 cents. That is in trans clear and including the frame. I wonder where you came up with 1,50, you'd be getting ripped off.
  16. Happy Birthday mister S! Have a great day with lots of Lego and a few drinks!
  17. Again a wonderful model! How long is the model exactly, around 100 studs? I can see these type of ships having the right scale to be integrated into any private Lego town.
  18. Yes, yes, brilliant addition, don't forget the smoking machine!
  19. Or use a PF remote with speed regulation. This gives me ideas...
  20. You have a bold plan, all I can say is good luck!
  21. You'd be more then welcome, what about you Tom? We'll only be there on Saturday though.
  22. Happy birthday Rufus! Reading the first post, this will be a good one!
  23. I'm gonna nag; I really don't like the back of those tan mast pieces. 2x2 round bricks would look much nicer! But all nagging aside, the rest is really great and I can;t wait to see it fully rigged and under sail! This also proves that great sail ships can be made on a smaller scale with quite a simple basic brick hull. Keep it up sir!
  24. So much nice entries in this contest, this is going to be a tight competition I reckon. Well done everybody! Since I have 7 points to divide, I'll divide them over my three favourites: 4 points - no. 38 Stortinget by Matija, because it is nice, big and houses some very interesting techniques. [/url] 2 points - no. 23, Mathematics and Computer building by Fianat, because I really like the overall architecture and the detail that is put in. 1 point - no. 19 Ludwigskirche by Skalldyr, because it has nice and realistic windows. So that is it, good luck y'all!
  25. There are 2 things that I'd say are incorrect. 1. The space in between gunports would be about 3 times a port instead of 2. (But that may vary) 2. The compartment walls would not be stored in a hole, but they would be lifted up against the upper beams, sort of like a garage door.
